Operation of each component

Using the door lock switch 
Carry only one of the keys (including the card key) to which you want to 
link the driving position. If 2 or more  keys are in the vehicle, the driving 
position cannot be linked properly.  
Turn the engine switch off and close the driver’s door. 
While pressing the recalled 
switch, press and hold the door
lock switch (either lock or
unlock) until the buzzer
sounds.
■Recall procedure 
Carry the electronic key that has be en registered to the driving posi- 
tion, and then unlock and open the driver’s door using the smart 
entry & start system or wireless remote control.
The driving position will move to the recorded position (not including the 
steering wheel). However, the seat will move to a position slightly behind the 
recorded position in order to make entering the vehicle easier. 
If the driving position is in a position that has already been recorded, the seat 
and outside rear view mirrors will not move.
Turn the engine switch to ACCESSO RY mode or fasten your seat- 
belt.
The seat and steering wheel will move to the recorded position.

■Cancelation procedure
Using the wireless remote control 
Turn the engine switch off and close the driver’s door. 
While pressing the “SET” switch, press   on the wireless remote 
control until the buzzer sounds.
Using the door lock switch 
Carry only the key you want to cancel and then close the driver’s door. 
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicl e, the driving position cannot be can- 
celed properly. 
Turn the engine switch off and close the driver’s door. 
While pressing the “SET” switch, press the lock or unlock side on the 
door lock switch until the buzzer sounds.
■Recalling the driving position  using the memory recall function
●Different driving positions can be registered for each electronic key. Therefore, the 
driving position that is recalled may be different depending on the key being car-
ried.
●If a door other than the driver’s door is unlocked with the smart entry & start sys-
tem, the driving position cannot be recalled. In this case, press the driving position
switch which has been set.
■Seat operation automatic stop function (vehicles with relaxation seat) 
If a front seat is likely to come into contact with the retractable table (4-seat models) 
or the ottoman during seat operation or activation of the power easy access system,
a buzzer will sound and seat slide operation will be stopped partway. 
(A warning message will be shown on the multi-information display.)
CAUTION
■Seat adjustment caution 
Take care during seat adjustment so that the seat does not strike the rear passen- 
ger or squeeze your body against the steering wheel.

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.  
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
■Closing the windows
●The driver is responsible for all the power window operations, including the oper-
ation for the passengers. In order to prevent accidental operation, especially by a
child, do not let a child operate the power windows. It is possible for children and
other passengers to have body parts caug ht in the power window. Also, when rid- 
ing with a child, it is recommended to use the window lock switch. ( P. 236)
●Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a 
position where it could be caught when a window is being operated.
●When using the smart entry & start system, wireless remote control or mechani-
cal key and operating the power windows, operate the power window after
checking to make sure that there is no possibility of any passenger having any of
their body parts caught in the window. Also do not let a child operate window by
the smart entry & start system, wireless remote control or mechanical key. It is
possible for children and other passengers to get caught in the power window.
●When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, carry the key and exit the
vehicle along with the child. There may be accidental operation, due to mischief,
etc., that may possibly lead to an accident.

■The moon roof can be operated when 
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
■Operating the moon roof after turning the engine off 
The moon roof can be operated for approximately 45 seconds after the engine 
switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however, be oper- 
ated once either front door is opened.
■Jam protection function 
If an object is detected between the moon roof and the frame while the moon roof is 
closing or tilting down, travel is stop ped and the moon roof opens slightly.
■Sunshade 
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. However, the sunshade will open 
automatically when the moon roof is opened. 
■Door lock linked moon roof operation
●The moon roof can be closed using the entry function. ( P. 155)
●The moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key. (P. 631)

■Moon roof open warning buzzer 
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display in the 
instrument cluster when the engine switch is turned off and the driver’s door is
opened with the moon roof open.
■Customization 
Settings (e.g. linked door lock operation) can be changed.  
(Customizable features  P. 667)
CAUTION
Observe the following precautions. 
Failure to do so may cause death or serious injury.
■Opening the moon roof
●Do not allow any passengers to put their hands or heads outside the vehicle while
it is moving.
●Do not sit on top of the moon roof.
■Closing the moon roof
●The driver is responsible for moon roof opening and closing operations. 
In order to prevent accidental operation, especially by a child, do not let a child
operate the moon roof. It is possible for children and other passengers to have
body parts caught in the moon roof.
●Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body in a
position where it could be caught when the moon roof is being operated. 
●When using the smart entry & start system, wireless remote control or mechani-
cal key and operating the moon roof, operate the moon roof after checking to
make sure that there is no possibility of any passenger having any of their body
parts caught in the moon roof. Also, do  not let a child operate moon roof by the 
smart entry & start system, wireless remote  control or mechanical key. It is possi- 
ble for children and other passengers to get caught in the moon roof.
●When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, carry the key and exit the
vehicle along with the child. There may be accidental operation, due to mischief,
etc., that may possibly lead to an accident.
■Jam protection function
●Never use any part of your body to intentionally activate the jam protection func-
tion.
●The jam protection function may not work if something gets caught just before
the moon roof fully closes.

With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to D.  
( P. 264, 269) 
If the parking brake is in manual  mode, release the parking brake.  
( P. 279) 
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently depress the accelerator 
pedal to accelerate the vehicle. 
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal. 
If necessary, set the parking brake.
If the vehicle is to be stopped for an extended period of time, shift the shift lever to 
P or N. ( P. 264, 269)
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal. 
Set parking brake ( P. 279), and shift the shift lever to P  
( P. 264, 269). 
Press the engine switch to stop the engine. 
Lock the door, making sure that you have the electronic key on your 
person.
If parking on a hill, block the wheels as needed.

Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode (P. 260) and check 
that the parking brake is set. 
Check that the shift lever is set in P. 
Firmly depress the brake pedal.
The engine switch indicator will turn gree n. If the indicator does not turn green, 
the engine cannot be started.
Press the engine switch shortly 
and firmly.
When operating the engine switch, 
one short, firm press is enough. It is not 
necessary to press and hold the
switch. 
The engine will crank until it starts or 
for up to 30 seconds, whichever is 
less. 
Continue depressing the brake pedal 
until the engine is completely started. 
The engine can be started from any 
engine switch mode.
Engine (ignition) switch
Performing the following operati ons when carrying the electronic key 
on your person starts the engine or changes engine switch modes.

■Auto power off function 
If the vehicle is left in ACCESSORY mode for more than 20 minutes with the shift 
lever in P, the engine switch will automatically turn off.

■If the engine does not start 
The engine immobilizer system may not have been deactivated. ( P. 104) 
Contact your Lexus dealer.
■Steering lock 
After turning the engine switch off and opening and closing the doors, the steering 
wheel will be locked due to the steering lock function. Operating the engine switch
again automatically cancels the steering lock.
■When the steering lock cannot be released
■Steering lock motor overheating prevention 
To prevent the steering lock motor from overheating, the motor may be suspended if 
the engine is turned on and off repeatedly in a short period of time. In this case,
refrain from operating the engine. After about 10 seconds, the steering lock motor
will resume functioning. 
The green indicator light on the engine switch 
will flash and a message will be shown on the
multi-information display. Press the engine
switch again while turning the steering wheel
left and right.

■When the engine switch indicator flashes in amber 
The system may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer 
immediately.
■If the electronic key battery is depleted

CAUTION
■When starting the engine 
Always start the engine while sitting in the driver’s seat. Do not depress the accel- 
erator pedal while starting the engine under any circumstances.
Doing so may cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury.
■Caution while driving 
If engine failure occurs while the vehicle is moving, do not lock or open the doors 
until the vehicle reaches a safe and complete stop. Activation of the steering lock in
this circumstance may lead to an accident, resulting in death or serious injury.
■Stopping the engine in an emergency 
If you want to stop the engine in an emergency while driving the vehicle, press and 
hold the engine switch for more than 2 seconds, or press it briefly 3 times or more
in succession. ( P. 595) 
However, do not touch the engine switch  while driving except in an emergency. 
Turning the engine off while driving will no t cause loss of steering or braking con- 
trol, however, power assist to the steering w ill be lost. This will make it more difficult 
to steer smoothly, so you should pull over and  stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to 
do so.

■Automatic light off system
For GCC countries*, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria 
The headlights and tail lights turn off automa  tically if the engine switch is switched to 
ACCESSORY mode or turned off and the driver’s door is opened. 
To turn the lights on again, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode, or turn 
the light switch off once and then back to   or  .
Vehicles with a follow me home system
●When the light switch is in  ,  ,   or  : The headlights turn off automati- 
cally if the engine switch is switched to ACCESSORY mode or turned off.
●When the light switch is in  : The headlights and all lights turn off automatically if 
the engine switch is switched to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. 
To turn the lights on again, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode, or turn
the light switch off once and then back to  ,  ,   or  .
Vehicles without a follow me home system except for GCC countries*, Yemen, 
Jordan, Lebanon and Syria 
When the light switch is in  : The headlights and tail lights turn off 30 seconds 
after the engine switch is turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off and a door is 
opened and all of the doors and trunk are closed. (The lights turn off immediately if 
 on the key is pressed after all the doors are closed.) 
To turn the lights on again, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode, or turn 
the light switch off once and then back to  ,  ,   or  . 
If any of the doors or trunk lid is kept open, the lights automatically turn off after 20 
minutes.
*: Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait
■Light reminder buzzer (except for GCC countries*, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon and
Syria) 
A buzzer sounds when the engine switch is turned off or turned to ACCESSORY 
mode and the driver’s door is opened while the lights are turned on.
*: Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait
■Automatic headlight leveling system 
The level of the headlights is automatically adjusted according to the number of pas- 
sengers and the loading condition of the vehicle to ensure that the headlights do not
interfere with other road users.
