: Open door warning buzzer:
The open door warning buzzer sounds to alert one or more of the doors is not
fully closed (with the vehicle having reached a speed of 3 mph [5 km/h]).

: Driver’s seat belt buzzer:
The driver’s seat belt buzzer sounds to alert the driver that his or her seat belt
is not fastened. Once the engine switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode,
the buzzer sounds for 6 seconds. If the vehicle reaches a speed of 12 mph
(20 km/h), the buzzer sounds once. If the seat belt is still unfastened after 30
seconds, the buzzer will sound intermitte ntly for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat
belt is still unfastened, the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more
seconds.
Front passenger’s seat belt buzzer:
The front passenger’s seat belt buzzer sounds to alert the front passenger that
his or her seat belt is not fastened. The buzzer sounds once if the vehicle
reaches a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h). If the seat belt is still unfastened after 30
seconds, the buzzer will sound intermitte ntly for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat
belt is still unfastened, the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more
seconds. Master warning light

Stopping the engine
Shift the shift lever to “P” and press th e “ENGINE START STOP” switch as you nor-
mally do when stopping the engine. ■
Replacing the key battery
As this above procedure is a temporary measure, it is recommended that the elec-
tronic key battery be replaced immediately when the battery depletes. ( P. 7 8 0 )■
Changing “ENGINE START STOP” switch modes
Within 10 seconds of the buzzer sounding, release the brake pedal and press the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch.
The engine does not start and modes will be changed each time the switch is
pressed. ( P. 1 76 )■
Alarm
Using the mechanical key to lock the doors will not set the alarm system.
If a door is unlocked using the mechanical key when the alarm system is set, the
alarm may be triggered. ( P. 1 1 9 )

Starting the engine when the battery is discharged
The engine cannot be started by push-starting. ■
Avoiding a discharged battery ●
Turn off the headlights and the audio system while the engine is off. ●
Turn off any unnecessary electrical compon ents when the vehicle is running at a
low speed for an extended period, such as in heavy traffic, etc.■
Charging the battery
The electricity stored in the battery will discharge gradually even when the vehicle
is not in use, due to natural discharge and the draining effects of certain electrical
appliances. If the vehicle is left for a long time, the battery may discharge, and the
engine may be unable to start. (The battery recharges automatically during driving.) ■
When the battery is removed or discharged ●
The power back door must be initialized. ( P. 6 0 )●
Make sure the key is not inside the vehicle when recharging or replacing the
battery. The key may be locked in the vehicle if the alarm is activated. ( P. 1 2 0 )Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the engine
speed slightly and maintain at that level for approximately 5
minutes to recharge the battery of your vehicle.
Open and close any of the do ors with the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch off.
Maintain the engine speed of th e second vehicle and turn the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON mode,
then start the vehicle’s engine.
Once the vehicle’s engine ha s started, remove the jumper
cables in the exact reverse ord er in which they were con-
nected.
Once the engine starts, have the vehicle checked at your Lexus dealer,
as soon as possible. STEP 3

P. 3 2 3Carry out the following procedures if the tires spin or the vehicle becomes
stuck in mud, dirt, or snow.
Stop the engine. Set the parking brake and shift the shift lever
to “P”.
Remove the mud, snow, or sand from around the rear wheels.
Place wood, stones or some ot her material under the rear
wheels to help provide traction.
Restart the engine.
Shift the shift lever to the “D” or “R” position and release the
parking brake. Then, while exer cising caution, depress the
accelerator pedal. STEP 1
