■nanoe (if equipped)
Your vehicle incorporates a nanoe device, which is considered a biocidal product.
The nanoe  device generates charged water particles from the ambient air. These parti-
cles purify the air in the cabin by suppressing bacteria.
The nanoe  device is considered a biocidal product in the EU according to the interpre- tation of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012.
Active substances: Charged water particles (nano) containing hydroxyl radicals, gener- ated from ambient air
nanoe  helps to provide purified air by emitting electrically charged water particles
through the window side air outlet of the driver's seat*.
●When the fan is turned on and “nanoe” on the option control screen is selected, the nanoe  is activated.
●When the fan is operated in the following conditions, system performance will be maxi- mized. If the following conditions are not met, the nanoe  may not operate at full capacity.
• The upper body, the upper body and feet or the feet air outlets are being used. ( P. 538) • The window side air outlet of the driver’s seat is open.
●When nanoe  is generated, a small amount of ozone is emitted and may be faintly smelled in some situations. However, this is approximately the same as the amount that
already exists in nature, such as in forests, and it has no affect on the human body.
●A slight noise may be heard during operation. This is not a malfunction.
*: According to temperature and humidity conditions, fan speed and direction of the air
flow, the nanoe  may not operate at full capacity.

WARNING
The engine compartment contains many mechanisms and fluids that may move suddenly, become hot, or become electrically energize d. To avoid death or serious injury, observe the following precautions.
■When working on the engine compartment
●Keep hands, clothing and tools away from the moving fan and engine drive belt.
●Be careful not to touch the engine, radiator, exhaust manifold, etc., right after driving
as they may be hot. Oil and other fluids may also be hot.
●Do not leave anything that may burn easily, such as paper and rags, in the engine compartment.
●Do not smoke, cause sparks or expose an open flame to fuel or the battery. Fuel andbattery fumes are flammable.
●Be extremely cautious when working on the battery. It contains poisonous and corro-
sive sulfuric acid.
●Take care because brake fluid can harm your hands or eyes and damage painted sur- faces. If fluid gets on your hands or in your eyes, flush the affected area with clean
water immediately. If you still experience discomfort, consult a doctor.
■When working near the electric cooling fans or radiator grille
Be sure the engine switch is off.
With the engine switch in IGNITION ON mode, the electric cooling fans may auto- matically start to run if the air conditioning is on and/or the coolant temperature is high. ( P. 607)
■Safety glasses
Wear safety glasses to prevent flying or fa lling material, fluid spray, etc., from getting in your eyes.
NOTICE
■If you remove the air cleaner filter
Driving with the air cleaner filter removed may cause excessive engine wear due to dirt in the air.
■If the fluid level is low or high
It is normal for the brake fluid level to go down slightly as the brake pads wear or when the fluid level in the accumulator is high.If the reservoir needs frequent refillin g, it may indicate a serious problem.

■After changing the engine oil
The engine oil maintenance data should be reset. Perform the following procedures:
Select on the multi-information display. ( P. 110)
Press or of the meter control switch, select the “Vehicle Settings” then “Oil
Maintenance”. (To confirm setting, press .)
Select the “Yes” and push .
A message is displayed on th e multi-information display.
WARNING
■Used engine oil
●Used engine oil contains potentially harmful contaminants which may cause skin dis-
orders such as inflammation and skin cancer, so care should be taken to avoid pro-
longed and repeated contact. To remove used engine oil from your skin, wash
thoroughly with soap and water.
●Dispose of used oil and filters only in a safe and acceptable manner. Do not dispose of
used oil and filters in household trash, in sewers or onto the ground. Call any autho-
rized Lexus dealer or repairer, or anothe r duly qualified and equipped professional,
service station or auto parts store for information concerning recycling or disposal.
●Do not leave used engine oil within the reach of children.
NOTICE
■To prevent serious engine damage
Check the oil level on a regular basis.
■When replacing the engine oil
●Be careful not to spill engine oil on the vehicle components.
●Avoid overfilling, or the engine could be damaged.
●Check the oil level on the dipstick every time you refill the vehicle.
●Be sure the engine oil filler cap is properly tightened.

Turn the engine switch off.
Open the glove box. Slide off the
damper.
Push in the glove box on the vehicle’s
outer side to disconnect the claws.
Then pull out the glove box and dis-
connect the lower claws.
Remove the cover.
Air conditioning filter
The air conditioning filter must be changed regularly to maintain air condi-
tioning efficiency.

Remove the filter cover.
Unlock the filter cover.
Move the filter cover in the direc-
tion of the arrow, and then pull it
out of the claws.
Remove the filter case.
There may be foreign objects on top of the air conditioning filter.
Remove the air conditioning filter
from the filter case and replace it
with a new one.
The “ UP” marks shown on the filter and the filter case should be pointing up.
■Checking interval
Inspect and replace the air conditioning filt er according to the maintenance schedule. In dusty areas or areas with heavy traffic fl ow, early replacement may be required. (For
scheduled maintenance information, please refer to the “Lexus Service Booklet” or “Lexus Warranty Booklet”.)
■If air flow from the vents decreases dramatically
The filter may be clogged. Check the filter and replace if necessary.
■Air conditioning filter with deodorizing function
When fragrances are placed in your vehicle, the deodorizing effect may become signifi-
cantly weakened in a short period.
When an air conditioning odor comes out cont inuously, replace the air conditioning filter.

NOTICE
■When using the air conditioning system
Make sure that a filter is always installed. Using the air conditioning system without a filter may cause damage to the system.
■To prevent damage to the filter cover
When moving the filter cover in the direction of
arrow to release the fitting, pay attention not to apply excessive force to the claws. Otherwise,the claws may be damaged.

■When “Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is displayed
The following systems may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by
any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and
equipped professional immediately.
●The LED headlight system
●The automatic headlight leveling system
●AHS (Adaptive High-beam System) (if equipped)
●Automatic High Beam (if equipped)
■If “Forward Camera System Unavailable” or “Forward Camera System
Unavailable Clean Windshield” is displayed (if equipped)
The following systems may be suspende d until the problem shown in the mes-
sage is resolved.
●PCS (Pre-Crash Safety system)
●LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist)
●Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range
●AHS (Adaptive High-beam System)
●Automatic High Beam
●RSA (Road Sign Assist)
■If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil is scheduled to be changed. (The indicator will not
work properly unless the message has been reset.)
Check the engine oil, and change if necessary. After changing the engine oil,
the message should be reset. ( P. 604)
■If “Oil Maintenance Required” is shown
Indicates that the engine oil should be changed. (After the engine oil is
changed and the message has been reset.)
Check and change the engine oil, and oil filter by any authorized Lexus dealer
or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional. After chang-
ing the engine oil, the message should be reset. ( P. 604)
