Installing child restraints
Follow the child restraint system manufacturer's instructions. Firmly
secure child restraints to the rear seats using a seat belt or a child restraint
lower anchorage. Attach the top strap when installing a child restraint.

CAUTION
■When starting the hybrid system
Always start the hybrid system while sitting in the driver’s seat. Do not press the
accelerator pedal while starting the hybrid system under any circumstances.
Doing so may cause an accident resulting in death or serious injury.
■Caution when driving
Do not turn the engine switch to the LOCK position while driving. If, in an emer-
gency, you must turn the hybrid system off while the vehicle is moving, turn the
engine switch only to the ACC position.
NOTICE
■To prevent 12-volt battery discharge
Do not leave the engine switch in the ACC or ON position for long periods without
the hybrid system on.
■When starting the hybrid system
●If any service reminder indicator light comes on or warning message appears on
the multi-information display or the 12-volt battery is disconnected, the hybrid
system may not start. In that case, turn the ignition on again. If the READY light
does not come on, contact your Lexus dealer.
●Do not race the hybrid system.
●If the hybrid system becomes difficult to start or stalls frequently, have the hybrid
system checked immediately.

Gauges and meters
The units used on the speedometer and the power meter gauge display may
differ depending on the model/type.
The following gauges and meters illuminate when the engine switch is
in the ON position.Power meter
Displays the instantaneous output from the hybrid system in approximate
kilowatts.
Speedometer
Displays the vehicle speed.
Fuel gauge
Displays the quantity of fuel remaining in the tank.
Engine coolant temperature gauge
Displays the engine coolant temperature.

Odometer/trip meter and trip meter reset button
Switches between odometer and trip meter displays. Pushing and holding
the button will reset the trip meter when the trip meter is being displayed.

Indicators and warning lights
The indicator and warning lights on the instrument cluster and center
panel inform the driver of the status of the vehicle’s various systems.

Multi-information display
The multi-information display presents the driver with a variety of driving
related data, including the status of the hybrid system.

Trip information■ Outside temperature
■ Average fuel consumption after refueling
■ Current fuel consumption
Displays the outside air temperature.
The temperature range that can be displayed is
from -22°F (-30°C) to 122°F (50°C).
Displays the average fuel consumption since the
vehicle was last refueled.
Displays the current rate of fuel consumption. Display items can be switched
by pushing the DISP. switch.

■Outside temperature display
In the following situations, the correct outside temperature may not be displayed, or
the display may take longer than normal to change.
●When stopped, or driving at low speeds (less than 12 mph [20 km/h])
●When the outside temperature has changed suddenly (at the entrance/exit of a
garage, tunnel, etc.)
NOTICE
■The multi-information display at low temperatures
Allow the interior of the vehicle to warm up before using the liquid crystal informa-
tion display. At extremely low temperatures, the information display monitor may
respond slowly, and display changes may be delayed.

The trip information display presents the driver with a variety of driving-
related data.

■ Driving distance Displays the elapsed time after the hybrid system
starts.
When the hybrid system is started, driving time is
counted from 0:00. Up to 11:59 (11 hours, 59 minutes)
can be displayed.
Displays the average fuel consumption since the
vehicle was last refueled.
Displays the current rate of fuel consumption.
Displays the driving distance since the hybrid system
was started.
The function can be reset by pushing the INFO switch
for longer than one second when the driving distance is
displayed.
CAUTION
■Caution while driving
Do not adjust the display while driving.
Doing so may cause the driver to mishandle the vehicle and an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.
