Coverage area of up to 6 ft (1.8 m) from therear bumper. There may be decreasedcoverage area at the outer corners of thebumper.
The system detects certain objects while thetransmission is in reverse (R) :
•Your vehicle is moving toward astationary object at a speed of 3 mph(5 km/h) or less.
•Your vehicle is not moving, but a movingobject is approaching the rear of yourvehicle at a speed of 3 mph (5 km/h) orless.
•Your vehicle is moving at a speed of lessthan 3 mph (5 km/h) and a moving objectis approaching the rear of your vehicleat a speed of less than 3 mph (5 km/h).
The system provides audio warnings onlywhen your vehicle is moving or when yourvehicle is stationary and the detectedobstacle is less than 12 in (30 cm) away fromthe bumper.
FRONT PARKING AID (If Equipped)
The front sensors are active when thetransmission is in any position other thanpark (P) or neutral (N), and your vehicle ismoving but at a speed below 6 mph(10 km/h).
Coverage area of up to 28 in (70 cm) fromthe front bumper. The coverage areadecreases at the outer corners.
When your vehicle approaches an object, awarning tone sounds. When your vehiclemoves closer to an object, the warning tonerepeat rate increases. The warning tonesounds continuously when an object is 12 in(30 cm) or less from the front bumper.
If the transmission is in reverse (R), the frontsensing system provides audio warningswhen your vehicle is moving and thedetected obstacle is stationary or movingtowards your vehicle.

If the transmission is in drive (D) or any otherforward gear (for example, low (L), sport (S)or any forward gear in a manualtransmission), the front sensing systemprovides audio warnings when your vehicleis moving below a speed of 7 mph (12 km/h)and an obstacle is located inside thedetection area.
ACTIVE PARK ASSIST (If Equipped)
Parallel Parking, Parallel Park OutAssist
WARNINGS
You must remain in your vehicle whenthe system turns on. At all times, youare responsible for controlling your vehicle,supervising the system and intervening, ifrequired. Failure to take care may result inthe loss of control of your vehicle, seriouspersonal injury or death.
The sensors may not detect objects inheavy rain or other conditions thatcause interference.
WARNINGS
Active park assist does not apply thebrakes under any circumstances.
The system is designed to aid thedriver. It is not intended to replace yourattention and judgment. You are stillresponsible to drive with due care andattention.
Note:Active Park Assist is a multi-stepprocess and may require you to shift yourtransmission multiple times. Follow theon-screen instructions until you complete theparking process.
Note:The Blind Spot Information Systemdoes not detect traffic alongside or behindyour vehicle during an Active Park Assistmaneuver.
Active Park Assist detects an availableparallel parking space and automaticallysteers your vehicle into the space(hands-free) while you control theaccelerator, gearshift and brakes. The systemvisually and audibly guides you to park yourvehicle.
If you are uncomfortable with the proximityto any vehicle or object, you may choose tooverride the system by grabbing the steeringwheel or by pressing the Active Park Assistbutton.
Parallel Park Out Assist automatically steersyour vehicle out of a parallel parking space(hands-free) while you control theaccelerator, gearshift and brakes. The systemvisually and audibly guides you to entertraffic.
The system may not correctly operate in anyof the following conditions:
•You use a spare tire or a tire significantlyworn more than the other tires.
•One or more tires are improperly inflated.
•You try to park on a tight curve.
•Something passes between the frontbumper and the parking space. Forexample, a pedestrian or cyclist.

•The edge of the neighboring parkedvehicle is high off the ground. Forexample, a bus, tow truck or flatbedtruck.
•The weather conditions are poor. Forexample, during heavy rain, snow or fog.
Note: Keep the sensors on the bumper orfascia free from snow, ice and largeaccumulations of dirt. Covered sensors canaffect the system's accuracy. Do not cleanthe sensors with sharp objects.
Note:The sensors may not detect objectswith surfaces that absorb ultrasonic wavesor cause ultrasonic interference. Forexample, motorcycle exhaust, truck airbrakes or horns.
Note:Following a change in tire size, thesystem must recalibrate and operation maybe impaired for a short time.
Do not use the system if:
•You have attached a foreign object closeto the sensors on the front or rear of yourvehicle. For example, a bike rack ortrailer.
•You attach an overhanging object to theroof. For example, a surfboard.
•A foreign object damages or obstructsthe front or rear bumper or side sensors.
•The correct tire size is not in use on yourvehicle. For example, a mini-spare tire.
Using Active Park Assist - Parallel Parking
Press the Active Park Assist buttononce to search for a parallelparking space.
When driving at a speed less than 22 mph(35 km/h), the system automatically scansboth sides of your vehicle for an availableparking space. The system displays amessage and a corresponding graphic toindicate it is searching for a parking space.Use the direction indicator to selectsearching either to the left-hand side orright-hand side of your vehicle.
Note:If the direction indicators are not used,the system defaults to the passenger sideof your vehicle.

Note:You can also switch the system onafter you have already driven partially orcompletely past a parking space. Press theActive Park Assist button and the systeminforms you if you have recently passed asuitable parking space.
When the system finds a suitable space, itdisplays a message and a tone sounds. Stopyour vehicle and follow the instructions onthe screen. If your vehicle is moving veryslowly, you may need to pull forward a shortdistance before the system is ready to park.
Note:You must observe that the space thesystem selects remains clear of obstructionsat all times during the maneuver.
Note:Drive your vehicle within 5 ft (1.5 m)and as parallel as possible to the othervehicles while passing a parking space.
Note:The system always offers the lastparking space it detects. For example, if yourvehicle detects multiple spaces while youare driving, it offers the last one.
Note:If driven above approximately 22 mph(35 km/h), the system shows a message toalert you to reduce your vehicle speed.
Automatically Steering into a ParkingSpace
Note:If your vehicle speed exceedsapproximately 6 mph (10 km/h) or youinterrupt the maneuver, the system switchesoff and you need to take full control of yourvehicle.
When you shift the transmission into reverse(R), with your hands off the steering wheeland nothing obstructing its movement, yourvehicle steers itself into the space(hands-free). The system displays instructionsto move your vehicle backward and forwardin the space.

When you believe your vehicle is properlyparked, or you hear a solid toneaccompanied by a display message, bringyour vehicle to a complete stop.
When the Active Park Assist maneuver iscomplete, the system displays a messageand a tone sounds.
Note:You are responsible for checking yourparked vehicle and making any necessarycorrections before leaving your vehicle.
Using Active Park Assist - Parallel Park OutAssist
Press the Active Park Assist buttononce while your vehicle is at restin a parallel parking space to useParallel Park Out Assist.
The system displays a message instructingyou to select a side. Use the directionindicator to select which side of your vehicleyou want to exit the parking space.

The system determines the clearance to thefront and rear of your vehicle andautomatically steers your vehicle out of aparallel parking space (hands-free) while youcontrol the accelerator, gearshift and brakes.The system visually and audibly guides youto enter traffic.
After the system directs your vehicle pastthe adjacent vehicle or object, it guides youto take control of the steering to completethe exit out of the parking space.
Note:If the clearance in front of your vehicleallows easy departure, the Parallel Park OutAssist feature may not be available.
Note:You are responsible for controllingyour vehicle and making sure the path isclear prior to pulling into traffic.
Note:If your vehicle speed exceedsapproximately 3 mph (5 km/h) or youinterrupt the maneuver, the system switchesoff and you need to take full control of yourvehicle.
Deactivating the Active Park AssistFeature
You can manually deactivate the system by:
•Pressing the Active Park Assist buttonduring an active maneuver.
•Grabbing the steering wheel during anactive maneuver.
•Driving above approximately 22 mph(35 km/h) for 30 seconds while searchingfor a parking space.
•Driving above approximately 6 mph(10 km/h) during an active parallel parkingmaneuver.
•Driving above approximately 3 mph(5 km/h) during an active parallel park outassist maneuver.
•Switching the traction control system off.
Certain vehicle conditions may alsodeactivate the system, for example:
•The traction control system activates.
•There is an anti-lock brake systemactivation or failure.

If a problem occurs with the system, awarning message displays accompanied bya tone. Have your vehicle checked as soonas possible.
Troubleshooting the System
Possible CauseSymptom
You may have the traction control system switched off.
The system does not look for a space.The transmission is in reverse (R). Your vehicle must be moving forward to be able todetect a parking space.
The sensors may be covered. For example, snow, ice or dirt buildup. Covered sensorscan affect how the system functions.
The system does not offer a parking space.
There is not enough room in the parking space for your vehicle to safely park.
There is not enough space for the parking maneuver on the opposite side of the parkingspace.
The parking space is more than 5 ft (1.5 m) or less than 16 in (0.4 m) away.
Your vehicle speed is greater than 22 mph (35 km/h).
You recently disconnected or replaced the battery. After a battery disconnect, you mustdrive your vehicle on a straight road for a short period of time.
Your vehicle is rolling in the opposite direction of the current transmission position. Forexample, rolling forward when in reverse (R).The system does not position the vehicle correctly.

An irregular curb along the parking space prevents the system from aligning your vehicleproperly.
Improperly parked vehicles or objects are boarding the space.
Your vehicle is too far past the parking space. The system performs best when you drivethe same distance past the parking space.
You have incorrectly installed or maintained the tires. For example, not inflated correctly,improper size, or of different sizes.
A repair or alteration changes the detection capabilities.
A parked vehicle has a high attachment. For example, a salt sprayer, snowplow or movingtruck bed.
The parking space length or position of parked objects changes after your vehicle passesthe space.
The temperature around your vehicle quickly changes. For example, driving from aheated garage into the cold, or after leaving a car wash.

REAR VIEW CAMERA
WARNINGS
The rear view camera system is areverse aid supplement device that stillrequires the driver to use it in conjunctionwith the interior and exterior mirrors formaximum coverage.
Objects that are close to either cornerof the bumper or under the bumper,might not be seen on the screen due to thelimited coverage of the camera system.
Reverse your vehicle slowly. Failure tofollow this instruction could result inthe loss of control of your vehicle, personalinjury or death.
Use caution when the rear cargo dooris ajar. If the rear cargo door is ajar, thecamera will be out of position and the videoimage may be incorrect. All guidelinesdisappear when the rear cargo door is ajar.Failure to follow this instruction could resultin personal injury.
WARNINGS
Use caution when turning camerafeatures on or off when thetransmission is not in park (P). Make sureyour vehicle is not moving.
The rear view camera system provides avideo image of the area behind your vehicle.
During operation, lines appear in the displaywhich represent your vehicle’s path andproximity to objects behind your vehicle.
The camera is located on the luggagecompartment door.
Using the Rear View Camera System
The rear view camera system displays whatis behind your vehicle when you place thetransmission in reverse (R).
Note:The reverse sensing system is noteffective at speeds above 3 mph (5 km/h)and may not detect certain angular ormoving objects.
The system uses three types of guides tohelp you see what is behind your vehicle:
•Active guidelines (if equipped): Show theintended path of your vehicle whenreversing.
•Fixed guidelines: Show the actual pathyour vehicle is moving in while reversingin a straight line. This can be helpfulwhen backing into a parking space oraligning your vehicle with another objectbehind you.
•Centerline: Helps align the center of yourvehicle with an object (for example, atrailer).

Note:If the transmission is in reverse (R) andthe luggage compartment door or liftgate isopen, no rear view camera features willdisplay.
Note: When towing, the camera only seeswhat you are towing. This might not provideadequate coverage as it usually provides innormal operation and some objects mightnot be seen. In some vehicles, theguidelines may disappear when you connectthe trailer tow connector.
The camera may not operate correctly underthe following conditions:
•Nighttime or dark areas if one or bothreverse lamps are not operating.
•Mud, water or debris obstructs thecamera's view. Clean the lens with a soft,lint-free cloth and non-abrasive cleaner.
•The rear of your vehicle is hit ordamaged, causing the camera to becomemisaligned.
Camera Guidelines
Note:Active guidelines are only availablewhen the transmission is in reverse (R).
Note:Whenever the battery is disconnectedor a new battery installed, you need to driveyour vehicle a short distance and your speedmust exceed 12 mph (20 km/h) so the systemcan recalibrate the steering angle data inorder to reactivate active guidelines.
