CLEANING THE EXTERIOR
Wash your vehicle regularly with cool orlukewarm water and a neutral pH shampoo,we recommend Motorcraft Detail Wash.
•Never use strong household detergentsor soap, for example dish washing orlaundry liquid. These products candiscolor and spot painted surfaces.
•Never wash your vehicle when it is hotto the touch, or during strong or directsunlight.
•Dry your vehicle with a chamois or softterry cloth towel to eliminate waterspotting.
•Immediately remove fuel spillages, birddroppings, insect deposits and road tar.These may cause damage to yourvehicle’s paintwork or trim over time. Werecommend Motorcraft Bug and TarRemover.
•Remove any exterior accessories, forexample antennas, before entering a carwash.
•When filling with AdBlue®, remove anyresidue on painted surfaces immediately.
Note:Suntan lotions and insect repellentscan damage painted surfaces. If thesesubstances come in contact with yourvehicle, wash the affected area as soon aspossible.
Cleaning the Headlamps
Note:Do not scrape the headlamp lensesor use abrasives, alcoholic solvents orchemical solvents to clean them.
Note:Do not wipe the headlamps when theyare dry.

Loss of air pressure may adversely affect tireperformance. For this reason:
Note:Do not drive the vehicle above 50 mph(80 km/h).
Note:Do not drive further than 120 mi(200 km). Drive only to the closest authorizedLincoln dealer or tire repair shop to haveyour tire inspected.
•Drive carefully and avoid abrupt steeringmaneuvers.
•Periodically monitor tire inflation pressurein the affected tire; if the tire is losingpressure, have the vehicle towed.
•Read the information in the Tips for Useof the Kit section to make sure safeoperation of the kit and your vehicle.
Tips for Use of your TMK
To ensure safe operation of the TMK:
•Read all instructions and cautions fully.
•Do not remove any foreign objects, suchas nails or screws, from the tire.
•Before operating the kit, make sure yourvehicle is safely off the road and awayfrom moving traffic. Turn on the hazardlights.
•Always set the parking brake to ensurethe vehicle doesn't move unexpectedly.
•When using the kit, leave the enginerunning (only if the vehicle is outdoors orin a well-ventilated area) so thecompressor does not drain the vehicle'sbattery.
•Do not allow the compressor to operatecontinuously for more than 15 minutes.This helps prevent the compressor fromoverheating.
•Never leave the kit unattended duringoperation.
•Sealant compound contains latex. Thosewith latex sensitivities should useappropriate precautions to avoid anallergic reaction.
•Keep the kit away from children.
•Only use the kit when the ambienttemperature is between -22°F (-30°C) and158°F (70°C).
•Only use the sealing compound beforethe use-by date. The use-by date is on alabel on the sealant bottle and can beseen through the rectangular viewingwindow on the bottom of the compressorhousing. Check the use-by date regularlyand replace the bottle when the fluid hasexpired.
•Do not store the kit unsecured inside thepassenger compartment of the vehicleas it may cause injury during a suddenstop or crash. Always store the kit in itsoriginal location.
•After sealant use, the tire pressuremonitoring system sensor and valve stemon the wheel must be replaced by anauthorized Lincoln dealer.
•Operating the kit could cause anelectrical disturbance in radio, CD, andDVD player operation.
* When inflation only is required fora tire or other objects, the selectormust be in the Air position.

9.When the recommended tire pressure isreached, turn off the kit, unplug thepower cable, and disconnect the hosefrom the tire valve. Re-install the valvecap on the tire valve and return the kit tothe stowage area.
10. Immediately and cautiously, drive thevehicle 3.7 mi (6 km) to distribute thesealant evenly inside the tire. Do notexceed 50 mph (80 km/h).
11. After 3.7 mi (6 km), stop and check thetire pressure. See Second stage:Checking tire pressure.
WARNING: If you experience anyunusual vibration, ride disturbance or noisewhile driving, reduce your speed until youcan safely pull off to the side of the road andcall for roadside assistance. Failure to do socould cause you to lose control of yourvehicle and increase the risk of personalinjury or death.
Note:If you experience any unusualvibration, ride disturbance or noise whendriving, do not proceed to the second stageof this operation.
Second Stage: Checking Tire Pressure
Check the air pressure of your tires asfollows:
1.Remove the valve cap from the tire valve.
2. Firmly screw the air compressor hoseonto the valve stem by turning clockwise.
3. Push and turn the TMK selector switchclockwise to the air position and note thetire pressure.

Note:If you are proceeding from the FirstStage: Reinflating the Tire with SealingCompound and Air section and have injectedsealant in the tire but the pressure is below20 psi (1.4 bar), stop and call roadsideassistance. If tire pressure is above 20 psi(1.4 bar), continue to the next step.
4. If required, turn on the compressor andadjust the tire to the recommendedinflation pressure shown on the tire labellocated on the driver's door or door jambarea. The tire pressure should bechecked with the compressor turned OFFin order to get an accurate pressurereading.
5. Remove the hoses, re-install the valvecap on the tire and return the kit to thestowage area.
WARNING: The air compressor powerplug may be hot after use. Allow it to coolbefore handling. Failure to do so could resultin personal injury.
What to do after the Tire has beenSealed
WARNING: If you experience anyunusual vibration, ride disturbance or noisewhile driving, reduce your speed until youcan safely pull off to the side of the road andcall for roadside assistance. Failure to do socould cause you to lose control of yourvehicle and increase the risk of personalinjury or death.
Note:After the sealing compound has beenused, the maximum vehicle speed is 50 mph(80 km/h) and the maximum driving distanceis 120 mi (200 km). The sealed tire shouldbe inspected immediately.
You can check the tire pressure any timewithin the 120 mi (200 km) by performing thesteps listed previously in the Second stage:Checking Tire Pressure procedure.
Servicing your TMK after use
After using the kit to seal your tire, you needto replace the sealant bottle. Sealant bottlereplacement kits can be obtained at anauthorized dealer. Empty sealant bottles maybe disposed of at home. However, bottlesstill containing liquid sealant should bedisposed of by your local authorized dealeror tire dealer, or in accordance with localwaste disposal regulation.
Removal of the sealant bottle from the kit
1. Unwrap the dual purpose hose (blacktube) from the compressor housing.

5.Wrap the power cord around the housingand stow the accessory power plug intoits storage area.
Note:If you experience any difficulties withthe removal or installation of the sealantbottle, consult your authorized dealer forassistance.
Check and record the sealant compound’suse by date and make sure that it is replacedwith a fresh bottle after this date. The use bydate is on a label located on the sealantbottle and can be seen through therectangular viewing window on the bottomof the TMK housing.
TIRE CARE
Important information for 245/40R19low-profile tires and wheels If yourvehicle is equipped with 245/40R19tires, they are low-profile tires. Thesetires and wheels are designed to giveyour vehicle a sport appearance. Withlow-profile tires, you may notice anincrease in road noise and faster tirewear, depending on road conditions and
driving styles. Due to their design,low-profile tires and wheels are moreprone to road damage from potholes,rough or unpaved roads, car wash railsand curb contact than standard tires andwheels.
Note:Your vehicle’s warranty does notcover these types of damage. Tiresshould always be kept at the correctinflation pressures and extra cautionshould be taken when operating onrough roads to avoid impacts that couldcause wheel and tire damage.

Driving habits have a great deal to dowith your tire mileage and safety.
•Observe posted speed limits
•Avoid fast starts, stops and turns
•Avoid potholes and objects on theroad
•Do not run over curbs or hit the tireagainst a curb when parking
Highway Hazards
No matter how carefully you drive thereis always the possibility that you mayeventually have a flat tire on thehighway. Drive slowly to the closest safearea out of traffic. This may furtherdamage the flat tire, but your safety ismore important.
If you feel a sudden vibration or ridedisturbance while driving, or you suspectyour tire or vehicle has been damaged,immediately reduce your speed. Drivewith caution until you can safely pull offthe road. Stop and inspect the tires fordamage. If a tire is under-inflated or
damaged, deflate it, remove the wheeland replace it with your spare tire andwheel (if provided). If you cannot detecta cause, have the vehicle towed to thenearest repair facility or tire dealer tohave the vehicle inspected.
Tire and Wheel Alignment
A bad jolt from hitting a curb or potholecan cause the front end of your vehicleto become misaligned or cause damageto your tires. If your vehicle seems topull to one side when you’re driving, thewheels may be out of alignment. Havean authorized dealer check the wheelalignment periodically.
Wheel misalignment in the front or therear can cause uneven and rapid
treadwear of your tires and should becorrected by an authorized dealer.Front-wheel drive vehicles and thosewith an independent rear suspension (ifequipped) may require alignment of allfour wheels.
The tires should also be balancedperiodically. An unbalanced tire andwheel assembly may result in irregulartire wear.
Tire Rotation
Note:If your tires show uneven wearask an authorized dealer to check forand correct any wheel misalignment,tire imbalance or mechanical probleminvolved before tire rotation.
Note:Your vehicle may be equippedwith a dissimilar spare wheel and tireassembly. A dissimilar spare wheel andtire assembly is defined as a sparewheel and tire assembly that is differentin brand, size or appearance from theroad tires and wheels. If you have a
dissimilar spare wheel and tire assemblyit is intended for temporary use only andshould not be used in a tire rotation.
Note:After having your tires rotated,inflation pressure must be checked andadjusted to the vehicle requirements.

Driving with a T-type Mini-spare or Full-sizeDissimilar Spare With Label on Wheel
Do not:
•Exceed 50 mph (80 km/h).
•Load the vehicle beyond maximumvehicle load rating listed on the SafetyCompliance Label.
•Tow a trailer.
•Use snow chains on the end of thevehicle with the dissimilar spare tire.
•Use more than one dissimilar spare tireat a time.
•Use commercial car washing equipment.
•Try to repair the dissimilar spare tire.
Use of the above dissimilar spare wheel atany one wheel location can lead toimpairment of the following:
•Handling, stability and brakingperformance.
•Comfort and noise.
•Ground clearance and parking at curbs.
•Winter weather driving capability.
•Wet weather driving capability.
•All-wheel driving capability, if applicable.
Driving With a Full-size Dissimilar SpareWheel and Tire Assembly
Do not:
•Exceed 70 mph (113 km/h).
•Use more than one dissimilar sparewheel and tire assembly at a time.
•Use commercial car washing equipment.
•Use snow chains on the end of thevehicle with the dissimilar spare wheeland tire assembly.
Use of the above dissimilar spare wheel atany one wheel location can lead toimpairment of the following:
•Handling, stability and brakingperformance.
•Comfort and noise.
•Ground clearance and parking at curbs.
•Winter weather driving capability.
•Wet weather driving capability.
•All-wheel driving capability.
Give additional caution to the following whendriving with the full-size dissimilar sparewheel and tire assembly:
•Towing a trailer.
•Driving vehicles equipped with a camperbody.
•Driving vehicles with a load on the cargorack.
Drive cautiously when using a full-sizedissimilar spare wheel and tire assembly andseek service as soon as possible.
Changing a Road Wheel Procedure
WARNING: When one of the frontwheels is off the ground, the transmissionalone will not prevent the vehicle frommoving or slipping off the jack, even if thetransmission is in park (P).

Stowing the Flat Tire Without theRetainer Strap
You can temporarily stow the full-size roadwheel in the spare tire compartment.
1.Lift the carpeted wheel cover at an angleto access the spare tire compartment.
2.Place the wheel in the spare tire well withthe valve stem facing down.
3.Install the shorter jack retainer bolt to thejack bolt-down bracket through thecentre of the wheel. Finally, wind thewheel retainer down to secure the wheelin place.
4. Place the jack and tools back into thespare tire compartment.
5. Replace the carpeted wheel cover.
Stowing the Flat Tire Using theRetainer Strap (If Equipped)
You can temporarily stow the full-size roadwheel in the spare tire compartment.
1. Find the flat tire retainer strap tuckedinside the jack channel.
2.Locate the jack bolt-down bracket. Pushthe retainer strap through the jackbolt-down bracket.
3.Put the jack and lug wrench away. Makesure the jack is fastened so it does notrattle when you drive.
4.Stow the flat tire on the floor in the cargoarea.
5. Weave the retainer strap through thewheel openings.

Radio Frequencies and ReceptionFactors
AM and FM frequencies are established bythe Federal Communications Commission(FCC) and the Canadian Radio andTelecommunications Commission (CRTC).Those frequencies are:
•AM: 530-1710 kHz
•FM: 87.9-107.9 MHz
Note:Listening to loud audio for longperiods of time could damage your hearing.
Radio Reception Factors
The further you travel from an AM or FM station, the weaker the signal and the weaker the reception.Distance and strength
Hills, mountains, tall buildings, bridges, tunnels, freeway overpasses, parking garages, dense tree foliage andthunderstorms can interfere with the reception.Terrain
When you pass a ground-based broadcast repeating tower, a stronger signal may overtake a weaker one andresult in the audio system muting.Station overload

CD and CD Player Information
Note:CD units play commercially pressed4.7 in (12 cm) audio compact discs only. Dueto technical incompatibility, certainrecordable and re-recordable compact discsmay not function correctly when used in thevehicle’s CD player.
Note: Do not insert CDs with homemadepaper (adhesive) labels into the CD playeras the label may peel and cause the CD tobecome jammed. You should use apermanent felt tip marker rather thanadhesive labels on your homemade CDs. Ballpoint pens may damage CDs. Ask anauthorized dealer for more information.
Note:Do not use any irregularly shapeddiscs or discs with a scratch protection filmattached.
Always handle discs by their edges only. Clean the disc with an approved CD cleaneronly. Wipe it from the center of the disctoward the edge. Do not clean in a circularmotion.
Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or heatsources for extended periods.
MP3 and WMA Track and FolderStructure
Audio systems capable of recognizing andplaying MP3 and WMA individual tracks andfolder structures work as follows:
•There are two different modes for MP3and WMA disc playback: MP3 and WMAtrack mode (system default) and MP3 andWMA folder mode.
•MP3 and WMA track mode ignores anyfolder structure on the MP3 and WMAdisc. The player numbers each MP3 andWMA track on the disc (noted by the MP3or WMA file extension) from T001 to amaximum of T255. The maximum numberof playable MP3 and WMA files may beless depending on the structure of theCD and exact model of radio present.
•MP3 and WMA folder mode representsa folder structure consisting of one levelof folders. The CD player numbers allMP3 and WMA tracks on the disc (notedby the MP3 or WMA file extension) andall folders containing MP3 and WMA files,from F001 (folder) T001 (track) to F253T255.
•Creating discs with only one level offolders helps with navigation through thedisc files.
If you are burning your own MP3 and WMAdiscs, it is important to understand how thesystem reads the structures you create. Whilevarious files may be present (files withextensions other than MP3 and WMA), onlyfiles with the MP3 and WMA extension areplayed; other files are ignored by the system.This enables you to use the same MP3 andWMA disc for a variety of tasks on your workcomputer, home computer and yourin-vehicle system.
