Status Bar
Displays distance to empty (DTE), time andoutside air temperature. Next to DTE, thefuel gauge fill color changes to yellow in lowfuel conditions. You can switch off the statusbar in the HUD settings menu.
Speedometer Display Area
Displays current vehicle speed, speed limit(if available in the map database) and yourtransmission gear selection.
Configuring The Head Up Display
You can control the system's options throughthe information display by using the HUD,OK and arrow buttons on the right-hand sideof your steering wheel. See GeneralInformation (page 120). You can adjust thedisplay according to your height to makeviewing the content easier. You can alsoadjust what content displays and thebrightness of the content. The system'soptions appear in the instrument clusterwhile the updates happen in the HUD.
Note:If HUD On is unchecked, other optionsof the system are hidden.
Note:The HUD menu automatically closesafter a certain period of inactivity.
Note:The HUD image brightnessautomatically adjusts to the brightness ofthe ambient environment. You have theability to adjust the brightness furtheraccording to your preference.
Note:In some instances, sunlight can causesome reflections in and around the HUDimage.

Maintaining Your Head Up Display
•Do not place objects onto the transparentcover, as they may block you from seeingportions of the image. These objectscould also damage the cover and affectthe quality of the projected image.
•The system uses a special windshielddesigned to provide the optimum imagequality. You must replace the windshieldin a vehicle with this system with acertified original equipmentmanufactured (OEM) head up displaywindshield. Replacing this system'swindshield with a non-head up displaywindshield causes a double image ordistorted image. Have an authorizeddealer or authorized repair facility replacethe windshield.
•Light conditions such as oncomingheadlamps, sunrise, sunset or reflectionsoff of wet road surfaces can affect thedriver's ability to see the HUD image.
•Clean the windshield often for optimalHUD performance. See Cleaning theWindows and Wiper Blades (page 381).

Replace the filter at regular intervals. SeeScheduled Maintenance (page 547).
For additional cabin air filter information, orto replace the filter, see an authorized dealer.
REMOTE START
The climate control system adjusts theinterior temperature during remote start.
You can switch this feature on or off andadjust the settings using the informationdisplay controls. See Information Displays(page 120).
You cannot adjust the climate control settingduring remote start operation. Switch theignition on to make adjustments.
Based on your remote start settings, thefollowing vehicle-dependent features mayor may not remain on after remote startingyour vehicle:
•Climate controlled seats.
•Heated steering wheel.
•Heated mirrors.
•Heated rear window.
•Windshield wiper de-icer.
Note:For dual zone climate controlled seats,the passenger seat setting defaults to matchthe driver seat during remote start.
Automatic Settings
If Auto is on, the system sets the interiortemperature to 72°F (22°C) and heats orcools the vehicle interior as required toachieve comfort.
Note:In cold weather, the heated rearwindow and heated mirrors turn on.
Last Settings
If Last Settings is on, the system uses thesettings last selected before you turned offthe vehicle.
Heated and Cooled Features
In Auto mode, certain heated features mayswitch on during cold weather, and cooledfeatures during hot weather.

Climate Control

You can also adjust this feature through thetouchscreen.
Press the Menu Settings icon, thenVehicle. Choose Multi-ContourSeats.
When switched on, the system displaysdirections for you to adjust the lumbarsettings in your seat or to set the massagefunction.
To access and make adjustments to thelumbar setting:
1.Choose the seat you would like to adjust.
2. Press the + or - to adjust the lumbarintensity.
To access and make adjustments to themassage setting:
1. Press the Menu Settings icon, thenVehicle. Choose Multi-Contour Seats.
2.Choose the seat you would like to adjust.
3. Press OFF, Low or High.
MEMORY FUNCTION
WARNING: Before activating thememory seat, make sure that the areaimmediately surrounding the seat is clearof obstructions and that all occupants areclear of moving parts.
WARNING: Do not use the memoryfunction when your vehicle is moving.
Driver Seat Memory
This feature automatically recalls the positionof the following:
•Driver seat.
•Power mirrors.
•Power adjustable foot pedals.
•Power steering column.
The memory control is on the driver door.
Saving a PreSet Position
1. Switch the ignition on.
2. Adjust the memory features to yourdesired position.
3.Press and hold the desired preset buttonuntil you hear a single tone.

You can save up to three preset memorypositions. You can save a memory preset atany time.
Recalling a PreSet Position
Press and release the preset buttonassociated with your desired driving position.The memory features move to the positionstored for that preset.
Note:You can only recall a driver seat presetmemory position when the ignition is off, orwhen the transmission is in park (P) orneutral (N) (and your vehicle is not moving)if the ignition is on.
You can also recall a preset memory positionby:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourintelligent access key fob if it is linked toa preset position.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked key fob is present.
•Recalling a personal profile in your SYNC3 menu.
Note:Using a linked keyfob to recall yourmemory position when the ignition is offmoves the seat to the Easy Entry position.
Note:Pressing any active memory featureadjustment control (or any memory button)during a memory recall cancels theoperation.
Easy Entry and Exit Feature
If you enable the easy entry and exit feature,it automatically moves the driver seatposition rearward up to 2 in (5 cm) when youswitch the ignition off.
The driver seat returns to its previousposition when you switch the ignition on.
You can switch this feature on or off in theinformation display. See InformationDisplays (page 120).
Passenger Seat Memory
This feature automatically recalls the positionof the passenger seat. The memory controlis on the passenger door.
Saving a PreSet Position
1. Adjust the passenger seat to yourdesired position.
2.Press and hold the desired preset buttonuntil you hear a single tone.
You can save up to three preset memorypositions. You can save a memory preset atany time.
Recalling a PreSet Position
Press and release the preset buttonassociated with your desired position. Thepassenger seat features move to the positionstored for that preset. You can recall apassenger seat preset memory at any time.

Personal Profiles
This feature allows you to create multiplepersonal profiles enabling users topersonalize vehicle’s settings. You cancreate one profile for each preset memoryseat button along with a guest profile. Youcan recall a profile using SYNC 3 or thepreset button you selected when you createdyour profile. You can also link a keyfob toyour profile, which is used to recall it.
Creating a Personal Profile
Use the SYNC display to create a personalprofile.
1. Switch the ignition on and leave thevehicle in park (P).
2.Select the Personal Profiles button underSettings.
3. Follow the instructions on the display.
Linking a Personal Profile to your RemoteControl or Intelligent Access Keyfob
You can save preset memory positions forup to three remote controls or intelligentaccess (IA) keys, by assigning a keyfob to apersonal profile in your SYNC 3.
Use the SYNC display to link a keyfob to apersonal profile.
1. Switch the ignition on and leave thevehicle in park (P).
2.Select the Personal Profiles button underSettings.
3. Touch the arrow for the profile you wishto link a keyfob to.
4. Select the Link Keyfob button.
5. Follow the instructions on the display.
Note:If more than one linked remote controlor intelligent access key is in range, thememory function moves to the settings ofthe first key to initiate a memory recall.
Note:The guest profile consists of existingsettings when there is no driver profilecreated. After you create a driver profile, theguest profile serves as an additional driverprofile.
Note:You cannot link a personalized name,a memory seat button or a keyfob to a guestprofile.
Personal Settings
Personal profiles allow you to personalizepositional settings such as seats and mirrors,as well as non-positional settings such asradio, navigation, driver assist and systemsettings. See SYNC™ 3 (page 441). Youcannot change the menu locations andsettings of those personalized features withpersonal profiles.
Note:Non-positional settings are saved tothe active driver profile whenever youchange a setting.
Note:You can save positional settings if youpress and hold a memory seat button. SeeSettings (page 504).

Seats

The heated seat module resets at everyignition run cycle. While the ignition is on,press the high or low heated seat switch toenable heating mode. When activated, theywill turn off automatically when you turn theengine off.
CLIMATE CONTROLLED SEATS (IF
EQUIPPED)
Heated Seats
WARNING: People who are unableto feel pain to their skin because ofadvanced age, chronic illness, diabetes,spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use,exhaustion or other physical conditions,must use caution when using the heatedseat. The heated seat may cause burnseven at low temperatures, especially ifused for long periods of time. Do not placeanything on the seat that may block theheat, such as a blanket or cushion. This
can cause the heated seat to overheat. Donot puncture the seat with pins, needlesor other pointed objects. This damages theheating element and can cause the heatedseat to overheat. An overheated seat maycause serious personal injury.
Note:The heated seats switch on during aremote start if they are enabled through theinformation displays. See GeneralInformation (page 120).
Note:The heated seats may also switch onwhen you start your vehicle if they were onwhen you previously switched your vehicleoff.
Note:Do not do the following:
•Place heavy objects on the seat.
•Operate the seat heater if water or anyother liquid spills on the seat. Allow theseat to dry thoroughly.
Press this symbol to cycle through thevarious heat settings and off. More indicatorlights indicate warmer settings.
Ventilated Seats
Note:The ventilated seats switch on duringa remote start if they are enabled throughthe information displays. See GeneralInformation (page 120).
Note:The ventilated seats may also switchon when you start your vehicle if they wereon when you previously switched yourvehicle off.

Do not place metal objects, for exampleremote controls, coins and candy wrappers,on or near the charging area when charginga device. Metal objects may heat up anddegrade the charging performance.
Note:The rate of charge, or charging power,is controlled by the device. During charging,the device and the charger may heat up, thisis normal. If the battery gets hotter thanusual, the charger may stop charging.
The charging area is on the center consoleor lower instrument panel. See CenterConsole (page 189).
You can charge a device if the vehicle is offwhen in accessory mode or if SYNC is on.
To begin charging, place the device on thecenter of the charging surface with thecharging side down. The charging stops afteryour device reaches a full charge.
Note:If the system detects a foreign objector if the device is misaligned on the chargingarea, a message appears in the display.

1. Open the floor console storagecompartment lid.
2. Insert the passive key into the backupslot.
3.With the passive key in this position, youcan use the push button ignition switchto switch the ignition on and start yourvehicle.
Fast Restart
The fast restart feature allows you to restartyour vehicle within 20 seconds of switchingit off, even if it does not detect a validpassive key.
Within 20 seconds of switching the engineoff, press the brake pedal and press the pushbutton ignition switch. After 20 seconds, youcan no longer start your vehicle if it does notdetect a valid passive key.
Once your vehicle starts, it remains runninguntil you press the push button ignitionswitch, even if your vehicle does not detecta valid passive key. If you open and close adoor while your vehicle is running, thesystem searches for a valid passive key. Youcannot start your vehicle if the system doesnot detect a valid passive key within 20seconds.
Failure to Start
If you cannot start the engine after threeattempts, wait 10 seconds and follow thisprocedure:
1. Fully depress the brake pedal.
2. Shift into park (P).
3. Fully press the accelerator pedal andhold it there.
4. Start the engine.
Automatic Engine Shutdown
For vehicles with a keyless ignition, thisautomatically shuts down your vehicle if ithas been idling for an extended period. Theignition also turns off to save battery power. Before your vehicle shuts down, a messageappears in the information display showinga timer counting down. If you do notintervene within 30 seconds, your vehicleshuts down. Another message appears inthe information display to inform you thatyour vehicle has shut down to save fuel. Start your vehicle as normal.
Automatic Engine Shutdown Override
Note: You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic shutdown. When you switchit off temporarily, it turns on at the nextignition cycle.
