If you pair your phone which has already been paired to your vehicle more than once in
the past, you need to delete “Mazda” on your mobile device. Then, execute the
Bluetooth
® search on your mobile device once
again, and pair to a newly detected
“Mazda”.
Before you pair your device, make sure that Bluetooth® is “ON”, both on your phone and
on the vehicle.
If Bluetooth®-enabled devices are used in the following locations or conditions,
connection via Bluetooth
® may not be possible.
The device is in a location hidden from the unit such as behind or under a seat, or
inside the glove compartment.
The device contacts or is covered by a metal object or body.
The device is set to power-saving mode.
Different Bluetooth®-enabled devices can be used for Bluetooth® Hands-Free and
Bluetooth
® audio. For example, device A can be connected as a Bluetooth® Hands-Free
device and device B can be connected as a Bluetooth
® audio device. However, the
following may occur when they are used at the same time.
The Bluetooth® connection of the device is disconnected.
Noise occurs in the Hands-Free audio.
Hands-Free operates slowly.
Voice recognition related problems

Volume dial operation

Press the volume dial to mute and pause. Howe ver, while an audio source which cannot be
paused such as FM radio is playing, only mute is available. Press the volume dial again to
resume the audio.
Turn the volume dial to adjust the volume. The volume increases by turning the dial
clockwise, and decreases by turning it counterclockwise.

Switches around commander knob
The following operations can be done by pressing the switches around the commander
knob.
: Displays the home screen.
: Displays the Entertainment screen.
: Displays the Navigation screen (Only na vigation-equipped vehicles). For operation
of the Navigation screen, refer to the navigation system manual. If the SD card for the
navigation system is not inserted, the compass indicating the direction in which the vehicle
is moving is displayed.
: Displays the Favorites screen. Long-press to store particular items in Favorites. (Radio,
phonebook and destination of the navigation system can be programmed.)
: Returns to previous screen.

1. Tilt or turn the commander knob and move the cursor to the desired icon.
2. Press the commander knob and select the icon.

Apple CarPlay™ allows you to make calls, send or receive messages, and listen to music
using your iPhone

If Apple CarPlay™ does not support wireless connection*
Connect the iPhone® by inserting the Apple®-genuine connector cord to the USB port
indicated by the
mark.

When you switch your iPhone® connection from Bluetooth® to the vehicle's USB port, the
system switches to Apple CarPlay™. The applications which were being used via
Bluetooth
® connection can be used continuously. However, the available functions of the
applications using Bluetooth
® connection and those on Apple CarPlay™ may differ.
If the iPhone® is connected to the USB port not indicated by the mark, the system
operates in USB mode.
If Apple CarPlay™ supports wireless connection

Wireless access to Apple CarPlay™ is available by connecting your iPhone
® with Mazda
Connect using Bluetooth
® and Wi-Fi™.
NOTE
There is no difference in the functions of Apple CarPlay™ when using the wireless
connection and the USB connection.
If the iPhone® is connected to the USB port while using the wireless connection, the
iPhone
® battery is charged.
Registering a device
You can register a device using either of the following methods.

If Apple CarPlay™ is not selected as the Wi-Fi™ mode, a dialog which prompts you to
enable Apple CarPlay™ mode is displayed. Select

Up to 7 Bluetooth® supported devices can be registered. If you try to register more than 7
devices, the device with the oldest registration record is deleted.
