When you adjust a seat, you or other vehicle
occupants could become trapped, e.g. on the
seat guide rail. #
When adjusting a seat, make sure that
no one has any body parts in the sweep
of the seat. Obser

dren in theve hicle". &
WARNING Risk of accident due tothe
driver's seat not being engaged
If th e driver's seat is not engaged, it could
mo veunexpectedly while theve hicle is in
motion.
This could cause youto lose control of the

Alw ays make sure that the driver's seat
is engaged before starting theve hicle. &

Before starting the engine: adjust the
driver's seat, the head restra ints, the
st eering wheel or the mir ror and fasten
yo ur seat belt. &
WARNING Risk of becoming trapped if
th e seat height is adjus ted carelessly
If yo u adjust the seat height carelessly, you
or other vehicle occupants could be trapped

the easy entry andexitfeature is active,
th e driver's seat will mo vebackwards and the
backrest will be mo vedto ast eeper position
when:
R you swit ch the ignition off when the driver's
door is open
R you open the driver's door when the ignition
is switched off
% The driver's seat will mo vebackwards only if
it is not already in there armost position.
The seat backrest will mo veforw ards on lyif
it is not already in the frontmost position.
The driver's seat will mo veback tothe last drive
position when:
R you swit ch the ignition on when the driver's
door is closed
R you close the driver's door when the ignition
is switched on The last drive position will be
stored when:
R you swit chthe ignition off
R you call up the seat settings via the memory
function

When the memory function adjusts the seat,
yo u and other vehicle occupants – particu‐

memory function, make sure that no

If someone becomes trapped, press a
memory position switch or seat adjust‐
ment switch immediately. &

Set the seat, the seat conto ur,the head-up
display and the outside mir rors to the
desired position. #
Press memory button M toge ther with one of
preset position buttons 1,2 or 3. #
Tocall up: press and brief lyhold preset posi‐
tion button 1,2 or 3.

The driving
characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on the distribution of the load within
th eve hicle. You should bear thefo llowing in
mind when loading theve hicle:
R neverex ceed the permissible gross mass or
th e permissible axle loads forth eve hicle
(including occupants).
Information can be found on theve hicle iden‐
tification plate (/ page 494).
R the load must not pr otru de abo vethe upper
edge of the seat backrests.
R always place the load behind unoccupied
seats if possible.
R secure the load using the tie-down eyes and
distribute the load evenly. St
