Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trap -
ped when closing the panorama sliding sun-
roof. If danger threatens, release the switc h
and push it briefly in any direction to stop
the panorama sliding sunroof. G
Risk of injury
The glass in the panorama sliding sunroof
could break in an accident. If you are not
wearing a seat belt, there is a risk that yo u
could be thrown through the opening in the
event of the vehicle overturning. Therefore,
always wear a seat belt to reduce the ris k
of injuries.
! Only open the panorama sliding sunroof
if it is free of snow and ice. Otherwise, mal-
functions may occur.
Do not allow anything to protrude from the
panorama sliding sunroof. The seals could
otherwise be damaged.
i When the panorama sliding sunroof is
open, resonance noises may occur as well as the usual airflow noises. They are caused
by minor pressure fluctuations in the vehi-
cle interior. Change the position of the pan-
orama sliding sunroof or open a side
window slightly to reduce or eliminate
these noises.
i It is also possible to open and close the
panorama sliding sunroof from the outsid e
using the "Summer opening" (Y page 111 )
and the "Convenience clos-
ing" (Y page 112) features respectively.
The switch is located on the overhead contro l
panel at the front. 1

desired position .

direction.

Closing with increased force and without
the anti-entrapment function G
Risk of injury
Make sure that nobody can become trap -
ped and a serious or even fatal injury is not
caused as you close the panorama sliding
sunroof with increased force or without the
anti-entrapment function .
If the panorama sliding sunroof locks up dur-
ing closing:
X Immediately after it locks up, pull the
switch again to the pressure point in the
direction of arrow 2until the panoram a
sliding sunroof is closed.
The panorama sliding sunroof is closed
with more force.
If the panorama sliding sunroof locks up dur-
ing closing again:
X Immediately after it locks up, pull the
switch again to the pressure point in the
direction of arrow 2until the panoram a
sliding sunroof is closed.
The panorama sliding sunroof is closed
without the anti-entrapment function. Raisin
g
The panorama sliding sunroof can be raised
at the rear for ventilation.
X To raise manually: press and hold the
switch in the direction of arrow 3until th e
panorama sliding sunroof has moved to the
desired position .
X To raise fully: briefly press the switch
beyond the pressure point in the direction
of arrow 3and release it.
X To stop: push or pull the switch in any
direction.
Lowering and closin g
X To lower manually: press and hold the
switch in the direction of arrow 2until th e
panorama sliding sunroof has moved to the
desired position .
X To lower fully: briefly pull the switch
beyond the pressure point in the direction
of arrow 2and release it.
X To stop: push or pull the switch in any
direction. Roller sunblinds The roller sunblinds provide protection from
the sun. The two roller sunblinds can only be
opened and closed together when the pano-
rama sliding sunroof is closed . G

sunblinds have moved to the desired posi -
tion.

Rain-closing feature *When the key is in position

lock or is removed, the panorama sliding sun-
roof closes automatically: R

R at extreme outside temperatures

R if there is a malfunction in the power supply
The panorama sliding sunroof remains raised
at the rear in order to allow ventilation of the
vehicle interior .
i The panorama sliding sunroof does not
close if:
R it is raised at the rear
R it is blocked
R no rain is falling within the field of the rain
sensor in the windscreen (e.g. because
the vehicle is under a bridge or in a car -
port )

and the roller sunblinds Reset the panorama sliding sunroof and the
roller sunblinds if the panorama sliding sun-
roof or the roller sunblinds do not ope

The tailgate may close if too great a load is
placed on the coat hooks.
This could cause you or others to be trap -
ped and injured.
If you use the coat hooks, only hang light
clothing on them. Make sure that nobody
can become trapped. 1

ests can be folded down to increase the boot

thrown around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking, a sudden change in direction
or an accident. G

Always drive with the boot lid closed .
Exhaust fumes could otherwise enter the

Make sure that the backrest is correctly
locked in position. The red lock verification
indicators on the left and right sides shoul d
no longer be visible. If they are visible, the
backrests are not locked in position.
Occupants could then be injured in the
event of an accident, e.g. by objects being
thrown forwards out of the luggage com-
partment.
X Adjust the head restraints if necessary .
X If necessary, move the driver's or front-
passenger seat back. Luggage compartment cover and
safety net (Estate)
The luggage compartment cover and the
safety net are attached to the rear bench seat
backrest as a combined luggage cover and
net. Safety net G
Risk of injury
The safety net cannot secure heavy loads.
You should therefore always lash down the
load .
You could otherwise be injured by object s
which have not been sufficiently secured
being thrown around in the event of shar p
braking, a sudden change of direction or an
accident. G

change of direction, or an accident, light
loads can be thrown about.
This could result in injury to yourself or oth-
ers .
Therefore, if you are transporting light

Luggage holder The luggage holder can be used to secure
light loads against the side wall of the luggage
compartment to prevent them from moving
around. 1

X To install: insert two brackets 5into the
left or right loading rail (Y page 191).
X Press release button 1of the luggage
holder and pull the belt out slightly.
X Insert luggage holder 2into brackets 5
and press down until it engages .

holder and pull the belt out slightly in the
direction of the arrow.
X Place the load between the belt and the
luggage compartment side wall. X
Using one hand, press locking button 1of
the luggage holder.
X With your other hand, slowly extend the
belt around the load until it is secure.
X Make sure that locking button 4on brack-
ets 5is pressed.
This keeps brackets 5in place on the
loading rail.
X To remove :press release button 3on
respective bracket 5and remove luggage
holder 2by pulling upwards and out.
Telescopic rod The telescopic rod can be used to secure the
load against the rear seats to prevent it from
moving around.Controls

be carried in the luggage net.
