Roofracks recommended for Mercede s-
Benz are specially developed and tested. These
ro of racks conform to DIN standard 75302 and
ar ealso subjected to crash tests and durability
tests. !
Mercede s-Benz recommends that youo nly
use roof rack syst ems which have been tested
and appr oved for Mercede s-Benz. This helps to
avoid damage to the vehicle.
Stow the load on the roof rac kin such a way that
yo ur vehicle is not damaged during the journey.
Make sure that:
! you can raise the sliding /tilting * sunroof
fully
! you can open the boot lid fully

6 Fasten the supports there. Comply with
the manufacturer's installation instruc-
tions.

6 Press the PRESS label on the right and
left-hand sides on the two hinges to
engage them. Removing the skibag (Coupé)
The skibag can be removed for cleaning or
drying.

The flap opens downwards.

skibag frame comes loose.

Observe the following notes onloading the
vehic le and transporting a load in the vehicle:
! Taking passe ngers in the vehicle as well as
th e vehicle's load into account, do not
exce ed the vehicle' s max imum perm issibl e
gross vehicle weight or axle loads.
! Slide a heavy load as far towards the front of
th e vehicle as pos sibleand stow it as far
down in the boot as possible.
! The lo adshould not be higher than theto p of
th e bac krests.
! Always lea nthe load against the front or rear
backrests ifthe load is tobe carried in the
vehicle interi or.
! When possible, always tr ansport the load
be hind seats which are not occupied.
! Secure the load with sufficiently strong and
wear-resistant lashing material. Pad sharp
ed ges for protection.
Lashing material can be ob tained ata qualified
sp ecialist wor kshop, e.g. at a Merce des-Be nz
Service Centre. In the boot there are four lashing eyelets.

Secure the load to the lashing eyelets.
Please note: ! Do not use elastic straps or nets to
secure a load, as these are only
intended as an anti-slip protection for
light load s.
! If you use securing straps, only use a
strap with a:
! permissible tens ile force
Fperm. = 600daN
! relative elongation of about 7% !
Do not route lashing material over
sharp corners or rough surfaces.
! Pad sharp edges for protection.
! Spread the load evenly between the
lashing points.
! Use all the lashing eyelets if possible.
! Do not overload the lashing eyelets
when using tensioners.
! Read and observe the instructions
issued with the lashing material used. Securing a load (Coupé)

Trailer towing
The detachable ball coupling is located in
the stowage
wellunder the boot floor.
You wil lfind details of installation dimen-
sions and loads in the "Technical data"
section.
Make a note of the key number in this
Owner's Manual, for example. This will
help you to obtain a replacement key from
a Mercedes-Benz Serv ice Ce ntre quickly,
shou ldyou lose it.
