Practical advice
Flat tyre
6 Using the wheel wrench, loosen the
wheel bol tson the wheel you wish to
change by about one turn. Do not re-
move them.
The jacking points are located to the rear
of the wheel housings of the front wheels
and in front of the wheel housings of the
rear wheels.

Risk of injury The ja
ckis designed only toraise the vehicle
for a short while when a wheel is changed.
If you intend to work under the vehicle,
place the vehicle on stands.
Prepare the vehic leas described
(= pag
e363).
Make sure that th estanding surface for the
jack is firm, eve nand not slippery. Do not
us eblocks of wood or similar as jacking sup-
po rts, as the jack will not be able to ac hieve
it s load-bearing capacity due to the restrict-
ed height.
Do not start the engine at any time wh ilet he
wheel is being changed.
Do not crawl under the vehicle while itis
supported by the jack. If you do not raise the
vehicle in the way described, it could slip off
the jack (e.g. when the engineis star ted or
the doors orboot lid areop ened or closed). P 40.10-2600-31

Flat tyre
6 Press electr icair pump switch 2toI.
The electric air pump isswitched on.
The tyre ispumped up.
! Do not run the electric air pump for longer
than six minutes without a break, oth erwise it
may overheat.
The air pump can be used again once it has
cooled down.
6 Pum pup the tyre to 2.5 bar (this takes
about fi veminutes).
6 Press the switch on the electric air
pump to 0.
The electric air pump isswitched off.
If a tyre pressure of 2.5 bar is exceeded:
6 Open the pressure release screw on
pressure gauge 4until the tyre pres-
sure is adjusted.
6 Return the air pump to the stowage
well and close it. Lowering the vehicle

Lower the vehicle. To do this, turn the
crank anti-clockwise until the vehicle is
once again firmly on the ground.
6 Put the jack to one side.
1 –5 Wheel bo lts
6 Tighten the wheel bolts evenly inthe
sequence indicated. The tightening
torque must be 110 Nm. 6
Turn the jack back to its initial position
and return it and the rest of the vehicle
toolkit to the boot.
You can only use the MOE emergency run-
flat system in conjunction with the tyre
pressure loss warning.
! The maximum distance you may cover in
run-flat mode depends on the vehicle load. It is
50 km if the vehicle is partially laden and 30 km
if it is fully laden.
The maximum distance that may be drive nin run-
flat mode begins from the time the tyre pressure
loss warning appears in the multi-function dis-
play.
Yo u must not exceed a maximum speed of
80 km /h. P 40.10-2740-31 G
Risk of accident The wheel bolts may work loose if they are
not tightene dto a tightening torque of
11 0Nm . For this reason, you should have
the tightening torque checked as soonas
possible after a wheel change. MOE

Practical advice
Fuses
The electrical fuses in your vehicle inter-
rupt the power supply to the equipment in
the event of a malfunction. This prevents
damage to the rest of the on-board
electri cs.
The following are available for changing
fuses ( =page 385):
! Fuse allocation chart
! Spare fuses
! Fuse extractor !
Only use fuses wi th thespec ifie d amperage
fo r the system inques tion, and which have been
ap proved for Mercede s-Be nz.Electrical parts or
sys tems could otherwise bedamaged.
Do not attempt to repair or bridge faul tyfuses.
Have the cause traced and recti fied at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Serv-
ic e Centre.
The electrical fuses are located in different
fus eboxes:
! Main fuse box onthe left of the dash-
boa rd (
=page 386).
! Fuse box in the engine compartment
on the left (
=page 386).
! Fuse box in the boot on the left
(

The fuse allocation chart is located in the
cover of the main fuse box on the dash-
board (
=page 386) .The amperage of the
fuses is also given there. Spare fuses

for the system in question, and which have
be en approved for Mercedes-Be nz.Other-

6 Rem ove any moisture from the fuse
box using a dry cloth.
6 Loosen clamps 6and swing fuse box
cover 5upwards. Clos
ing
6 Place the cover on fuse box 5. Make
sure that the rubber seal fits correctly
and the cover fits correctly on the box.
6 Press cover 5and secure it with
clam ps6.
6 Guide the cover into the retainer.
6 Turn the rotary catches one quarter
turn clockwise. The fuse box is located in the boot behind
the left-hand side panel. Open
