Locking/unlockingthe driver's door withtheemergencykey
Ifyou wishtolockthevehicle entirely usingthe emergencykey,first pressthe buttonforlocking fromthe inside whilethe driver'sdoor is open. Then proceedtolockthe driv‐er's door usingthe emergencykey.
Insertthe emergencykey asfar as it will gointo opening1inthe cover.
Pull and holdthe door handle.
Pullthe cover onthe emergencykey asstraight as possibleawayfromthevehicleuntil itreleases.
Releasethe door handle.
Tounlock:turnthe emergencykey counter-clockwisetopositionG.
Tolock:turnthe emergencykey clockwisetopositionG.
Carefully pressthe cover ontothe lock cylin‐der until it engages and is seatedfirmly.
Trunk
Openingthe trunk lid
\nDANGERRisk ofexhaustgas poisoning
Combustion engines emit poisonousexhaustgases such as carbon monoxide. Exhaustgases can enterthevehicle interior ifthetrunk lid is open whenthe engine isrunning,especially ifthevehicle is in motion.
Always switch offthe engine beforeopeningthe trunk lid.
Never drive withthe trunk lid open.

Trunk lid automaticreversing functionIf an object obstructsthe trunk lid duringtheautomatic closing process,the trunk lid willopen again automatically.The automaticrevers‐ing function is only an aid and is not a substituteforyour attentiveness.
When closing, make surethat no body partsare inthe closing area.

Problems withthe side windows

Ifyou close a side windowagain immediately after it has been blocked orreset,the side window closeswith increased or maximumforce. Thereversingfeature isthen not active.
Parts ofthe body could become trapped inthe closing area inthe process.
Make surethat no parts ofthe body are inthe closing area.
Tostopthe closing process,releasethe button or pressthe button againtoreopenthe side win‐dow.
If a side window is obstructed during closing andreopens again slightly:
Immediately afterthe window is blocked, pullthe corresponding switch again untilthe side window hasclosed, and holdthe switchfor an additional second.The side window will be closed with increasedforce.
If a side window is obstructed again during closing andreopens again slightly:

\nWARNINGRisk of entrapment ifthememory function is activatedbychildren
Children could become trapped iftheyacti‐vatethe memory function, particularly whenunattended.
Never leavechildren unattended inthevehicle.
When leavingthevehicle, alwaystakethekey withyou and lockthevehicle.
The memory function can be used whenthe igni‐tion is switched off.
StoringSeat adjustmentsfor uptothree people can bestored and called up usingthe memory function.

Setthe seat,thesteering wheel,the Head-upDisplay andthe outside mirrorstothedesired position.

Beforethe journey,secure objects, lug‐gageor loads against slipping or tippingover.

Ifyou do not adequatelystowobjects inthevehicle interior,theycould slip or betossedaround andtherebystrikevehicle occupants.In addition, cup holders, openstowagespaces and mobile phone brackets cannot

Thetailpipe andtailpipe trim can becomeveryhot. Ifyou come into contact withthesecar parts,you could burnyourself.
Always be particularlycareful when inthe vicinity ofthetailpipe andtailpipetrims and supervisechildrenveryclosely when inthis area.
Before any contact, allowthe car partstocool down.
The drivingcharacteristics ofyourvehicle aredependent onthe distribution ofthe load withinthevehicle.You should bearthefollowing inmind when loadingthevehicle:
Rneverexceedthe permissible gross mass orthe gross axleweightratingforthevehicle(including occupants). Thevalues are speci‐fied onthevehicle identification plate onthevehicle's B-pillar.
Rthe load must not protrude abovethe upperedge ofthe seat backrests.
Ralways placethe load behind unoccupiedseats if possible.
Rsecurethe load usingthe tie-downeyes anddistributethe loadevenly.

RIfthiswerethe case,thevehicle occu‐pantwould beforced intothe seat beltbytherear benchseat/rear seat orbytheseat backrest. The seat beltwould not beabletoprovidethe intended protectionand could cause additional injury.
RObjects or loads inthe trunk cannotberestrainedbythe seat backrest.
Make surethatthe seat backrest andtherear benchseat/rear seat areengaged beforeeverytrip.
Requirements:RTherear seat backrest headrestraints arefully inserted.
The center and outer seat backrests can befol‐dedforwards separately.

Center seat backrest:ifthe seat backrest isnot engaged and locked,red lockverificationindicator2will be visible.

Requirements:RThe left and center seat backrests areengaged and joinedtogether.
You can lockthe center seat backrestreleasecatchifyouwanttosecurethe trunk againstunauthorized access. The center seat backrestcanthen befoldedforwards onlytogether withthe left seat backrest.

Attachingtheroof carrier
\nWARNINGRisk of injuryifthe maximumroof load isexceeded
Whenyou loadtheroof,the center of gravityofthevehiclerises andthe usual drivingcharacteristics aswell asthesteering andbrakingcharacteristicschange. During cor‐nering,thevehicle tilts morestrongly andmayreact more sluggishlytosteering move‐ments.
Ifyouexceedthe maximumroof load,thedrivingcharacteristics, aswell asthesteer‐ing and brakingcharacteristics, will begreatlyimpaired.
Always comply withthe maximumroofload and adjustyour drivingstyle.
