Damaged saf etynets can no lon ger fulfill their
pr otective functions and must be replaced. Visit
a qu alified specialist workshop.

The bag hooks cannot restra in heavy objects
or items of luggage.
Objects or items of luggage could be throw n
around and thereby hit vehicle occupants
when braking or abruptly changing direc‐
tions.
#Only hang light objects on the bag
hooks.
#Ne ver hang hard, sharp-edged or fragile
objects on the bag hooks.
The bag hook can bear a maximum load of
6.6 lbs (3 kg). Do not use it tosecure a load.1Bag hook

Te nsioning the luggage holder
Re quirements:
RThe luggage holder is used tosecure loads
against the side wall of the cargo compart‐
ment topreve ntthem from moving around.
ROnly secure loads with a maximum weight of
15 .4 lbs (7 kg) and which are small enough
fo rth e luggage holder totightly and properly
secure them.

#Toinstall: insert two brac kets 5 into the
left or right load rail.
#Press release knob 1of luggage holder 2
and pull thest ra p out slightl y.
#Insert luggage holder 2into brac kets 5
and, while doing so, press release knob 3
and slide the luggage holder down wards until
it engages.
#Press release knob 1ofthe luggage holder
and pull thest ra p out in the direction of the
ar row .
#Place the load between thest ra p and the
cargo compart ment sidewall.
#Using one hand, press release knob 1of
th e luggage holder.
#Wi th your other hand, let thest ra p go slowly
until the load is secured.
#Make sure that locking button 4on brack‐
et s5 is pressed.
Brac kets 5 are secured in place on the load
ra il.
#To remo ve:press release knob 3on
re spective brac ket5 and remo veluggage
holder 2bypulling upwards and out.
Te nsioning thete lescopic rod
Re quirement:
The telescopic rod is used tosecure loads
against there ar seats topreve ntthem from
moving around.
#To install: insert one brac ket2 into bo th
th e left and right load rails and slide it tothe
desired position.
#Insert telescopic rod1 into brac kets 2.
#When doing so, press release knob 3and
slide telescopic rod1 down until it
engages.

#Toopen: holding theribbing, press handle
1 down.
#Lift the cargo compartment floor up byhan‐
dle 1.
#Fold out the hook on thest ra p on the under‐
side of the cargo compartment floor and
hook it into thera in trough.
#To close: unhook the hook from thera in
trough and fasten it tothe brac ket on the
under sideofthe cargo compartment floor.
#Fo ldthe cargo compartment floor down and
th en press handle 1down until it engages.

WARNING Risk of injury by exceeding
th e maximum roof load
When you load thero of, theve hicle center of
gr av ity rises and the driving characteristics
ch ange.
If yo uexc eed the maximum roof load, the
driving characteristics, as well as thesteer‐
ing and braking, will be greatly impaired.
#Ne verexc eed the maximum roof load
and adjust your driving style.

RequirementsROnly use roof rack ste sted and appr ovedby
Mercedes-Benz.
RMake sure that you can raise the sliding sun‐
ro of fully and open theta ilgate fully once the
ro of rack is ins talled.
RThe panoramic sliding sunroof cannot be
opened if a roof rack is ins talled. The panor‐
amic sliding sunroof closes again automati‐
cally when it encounters resis tance.

Cup holder
Installing or removing the cup holder in the
center console
& WARNING ‑ Risk of accident or injury
when using the cup holder while the
ve hicle is moving
The cup holder cannot secure containers
while theve hicle is moving.
If yo u use a cup holder while theve hicle is
moving, the conta iner may be flung around
and liq uidsmay be spilled. The vehicle occu‐
pants may come into contact with the liquid
and if it is hot, they could be scalded. You
could be dist racted from traf fic conditions
and you may lose cont rol of theve hicle.
#Only use the cup holder when theve hi‐
cle is stationar y.
#Only use the cup holder for containers
of theright size.
#Close the conta iner, particular lyifth e
liquid is hot.
#To remo ve:slide catch 2forw ards and pull
out cup holder 1.
#Toinstall: insert cup holder 1and slide
back catch 2.

Using the cigar ette lighter

hot cigar ette lighter
Yo u can burn yourself ifyo uto uch the hot
heating element or the soc ket of the ciga‐
re tte lighter.
In addition, flammable materials may ignite

#Alw ays hold the cigar ette lighter bythe
knob.
#Alw ays make sure that the cigar ette
lighter is out of reach of children.

The cigar ette lighter will pop out automati‐
cally when the heating element is red-hot.
