vated, theautomatic transmission doesnot
shift upautomatically evenwhen theengine
limiting speedforthe current gearis
reached. Whentheengine limiting speedis
reached, thefuel supply iscut toprevent
the engine fromoverrevv ing.Always make
sure thattheengine speeddoesnotreach
the red area ofthe tachomet er.There isoth-
erwise arisk ofengine damage. X

The funct ionofthe electric parking brakeis
dependent onthe on-board voltage.Ifthe on-
board voltage islow orthere isamalfunct ion
in the system, itmay notbepossible toapply
the released parkingbrake.

level ground andsecure itto prevent itroll-
ing away .

It may notbepossible torelease anapplied
parking brakeifthe on-board voltageislow or

The electric parking brakeperforms afunct ion
test atregular intervalswhile theengine is

WARNING
If you callupthe stored speedanditdiffers
from thecurrent speed,thevehicle acceler-
ates ordecelerates. Ifyou donot know the
stored speed, thevehicle couldaccelerate
or brake unexpect edly.There isarisk ofan
accident.
Pay attent iontothe road andtraffic condi-
tions before callingupthe stored speed. If
you donot know thestored speed, storethe
desired speedagain.
X Briefly pullthecruise controllever towards
you 0087.
X Remove yourfootfrom theaccelerator
pedal.
The first time cruise controlisactivated, it
stores thecurrent speedorregulates the
speed ofthe vehicle tothe previously stored
speed.

essary adjustment s.
Incr ease ordecrease thesetvehicle speed
to avalue thattheprevailing roadcondition s
and legal speed limitspermit. Otherwise,
sudden andunexpect edacceleration or
deceleration ofthe vehicle couldcause an
accident and/orserious injurytoyou and
others.

sure point forahigher speed, ordown 0085

standard. Parkingspacesonthe driver's side

driver's sideisactivated. Topark onthe driv-

reverse gear.
