Hazard warning indication lamps
E00501700361
These indication lamps blink
in the following situations. •When the turn-signal
lever is moved to ac- tivate a turn-signal
lamp.
Refer to “Turn-signal
lever” on page 5-55.
• When the hazard
warning flasher switch is pressed toactivate the hazard
warning lamps.
Refer to “Hazard
warning flasher switch” on page
5-55.
• When the hazard
warning lamps auto- matically activate due
to sudden braking while driving.
Refer to “Emergency
stop signal system”
on page 6-48.
NOTEl If these indication lamps blink too fast due
to any operation other than sudden braking,
the cause may be a blown lamp bulb or a faulty turn-signal connection.High-beam indication lamp
E00501800173
This indication lamp illumi-
nates when the high-beam is used.

Dipper (High/Low beamchange)
E00506200329
When the lamp switch is in the “” posi-
tion, the beam changes from high to low (or
low to high) each time the lever is pulled fully (1). While the high-beam is on, the
high-beam indication lamp in the instrument
cluster will also illuminate.
Headlamp flasher
E00506300199
The high-beams flash when the lever is pulled slightly (2), and will go off when it is
released.
When the high-beam is on, the high-beam in- dication lamp in the instrument cluster will il-
luminate.
NOTEl The high-beams can also flash when the
lamp switch is OFF.
l If you turn the lamps off with the headlamps
set to high-beam, the headlamps are auto- matically returned to their low-beam setting
when the lamp switch is next turned to the
“
” position.
Welcome light*
E00528901642
This function turns on the position and tail
lamps for about 30 seconds after the UN- LOCK switch (A) on the remote control
transmitter is pressed when the combination
headlamps and dipper switch is in the “OFF”
or “AUTO” position (for vehicles equipped with the automatic lamp control). On vehicles
equipped with automatic lamp control, the welcome light function will operate only
when it is dark outside the vehicle.NOTEl While the welcome light function is operat-
ing, perform one of the following operations to cancel the function.
• Push the LOCK switch (B) on the remote
control transmitter.

CAUTIONlIf the newly inserted fuse blows again after a
short time, we recommend you to have the electrical system checked to find the causeand rectify it.
l Never use a fuse with a larger capacity than
specified or a substitute (such as a cable or
foil). Doing so could cause the circuit wires
to overheat and create a fire.Replacement of lamp bulbs
E01003100488
Before replacing a bulb, ensure the lamp isoff. Do not touch the glass part of the new
bulb with your bare fingers; the skin oil left
on the glass will evaporate when the bulb gets hot and the vapour will condense on the
reflector and dim the surface.
CAUTIONl Bulbs are extremely hot immediately after
being turned off.
When replacing a bulb, wait for it to cool
sufficiently before touching it. You could otherwise be burnt.NOTEl If you are unsure of how to carry out the
work as required, we recommend you to consult a specialist.
l Be careful not to scratch the vehicle body
when removing a lamp or lens.
l When it rains or when the vehicle has been
washed, the inside of the lens sometimes be-
comes foggy. This is the same phenomenon as when window glass mists up on a humid
day, and does not indicate a functional prob- lem.
When the lamp is switched on, the heat will
remove the fog. However, if water gathers inside the lamp, we recommend you to havethe lamp checked.Bulb capacity
E01003200290
When replacing a bulb, use a new bulb with
the same wattage and colour.

6.While holding down the tab (F), pull out
the socket (G).
7. To install the bulb, perform the removal
steps in reverse.
CAUTIONl Handle halogen lamp bulbs with care. The
gas inside halogen lamp bulbs is highly pres- surized, so dropping, knocking, or scratching
a halogen lamp bulb can cause it to shatter.
l Never hold the halogen lamp bulb with a
bare hand, dirty glove, etc.
The oil from your hand could cause the bulb to break the next time the headlamps are op-
erated.
If the glass surface is dirty, it must be cleaned with alcohol, paint thinner, etc., and
refit it after drying it thoroughly.Headlamps (low beam, for ve-
hicles with high intensity dis- charge headlamps)
E01010100132
Do not attempt to disassemble or repair head- lamps, and do not attempt to replace their
bulbs.
WARNINGl A high voltage is present in the power cir-
cuit and in the bulbs and bulb terminals. To avoid the risk of an electric shock, con- tact a MITSUBISHI MOTORS Author-
ized Service Point whenever repair or re- placement is necessary.Headlamps (High-beam)
