Changing gears EI03C-A Always use care to change the gear with the vehicle speed
matched to the engine speed. Proper shifting will improve fuel economy and prolong engine life. Avoid shifting down at excessively high speed: doing so could damage the engine.

steep hills, and for engine braking when descending moder­
ately steep grades.
L-LOW This position is for driving up very steep hills and for engine braking at low speeds when descending steep grades .

Overdrive control switch EI04C·Ba
During ordinary driving, the overdrive switch should be left in the pressed-in
position (the indication lamp in the in­
strument panel is off). Automatic shifting will be performed in
the range from 1 st gear through 4th gear if the selector lever is set at "0 ".
When you need quick acceleration or engine braking power on a downhill grade , or when you are going to go up a
long hill, press the overdrive switch once again to cancel the overdrive function. The indication lamp in the instrument panel lights up and automatic shifting will be performed in the range from 1 st
gear through 3rd gear only.

Manual tuning Press the button to tune in a desired station.
Automatic tuning Continue to press the button for approximately 0.5 seconds or more to switch to the automatic tuning mode. In the automatic tuning mode, the radio will automatically tune in to a receivable
station.
SCAN (Scan button)-5 If the button is pressed, all receivable stations will be received.
The frequency of each received station will flash in the fre­quency display window for approximately five seconds . Then
the tuner will change to a higher frequency.
Press the SCAN button once again while receiving the desired
station to cancel the scan and listen to that station.
Memorizing stations
As many as 6 AM and 6 FM station frequencies can be
memorized. Follow these steps.
1 . Press a
TUNE button to tune in a station to memorize .
2 . Press one of the memory select buttons (9) for at least two seconds. The sound will be interrupted while the frequency
i s being memorized. The number of the pressed memory select button and the memorized frequency are displayed. 3. The preset memory setting is recalled by pressing the button and releasing it within two seconds.
NOTE
Disconnecting the battery terminal erases all frequencies
stored in memory .

Set the ventilator lever to the open position. Adjust the direction of the air flow by moving the knob. Both vertical adjust­ment and horizontal adjustment can be
made.
If you are using the heater at one of these modes, , or , and you feel too much heat on your face, turn the cool air dial fully in the arrow direction. Cool air will flow from the centre venti­lators (1) only.
NOTE If the air selection lever is at the position, cool air will not flow out.

Switch at front seat
Press that side of the switch which is opposite to the depressed side, and the
rear heater will stop operation . When the rear heater is not in operation, indicator lamp (A) goes out.

operation . When the rear heater is not in
operation, indicator lamp (A) goes out.
