For England "Certain parts fitted to this vehicle contain Asbestos . Please follow the Garage Workers Asbestos Code' listed below when handling such components."
1.
DON'T blow dust with an air line .
2 . DON'T grind or drill , unless the machine has exhaust
ventilation or a ventilated booth to work in.
3 . DON'T use a brush to sweep up the dust.
4 . DON 'T take protective clothing home. It should be cleaned
by your employer .
5 . DON 'T use equipment if it is not maintained and checked .
If in doubt. ask to see the examination reports.
6 . DO use properly designed equipment which prevents dust escaping , or use clean wet rags . When used, place the used
rags in a plastic waste bag while still wet.
7 . DO use a special (Type H) vacuum cleaner to remove dust if applicable .
8 . DO
wet the dust thoroughly and scrape it up if the above
vacuum cleaner is not available .
9 . DO wear protective clothing, such as overalls that your employer provides.
10. DO dispose of Asbestos waste in accordance with the
regulations.
The
complete Garage Workers Asbestos Code can be
obtained free of charge from The Environmental Health
Department of your local authority or The Health and
Safety Executive.

If water or any other liquid is spilled on the seat, allow it to dry thoroughly before attempting to use the heater.
Turn the heater off immediately if it appears to be malfunction­ing during use.

To get in and out of the third

The lever or pedal can be used to make getting in and out easier.
1-To get in or out 2-To get out
For models equipped with the pedal , when the lever or pedal is used , the seat back will tilt forward and at the same time the entire seat will move forward.
To return the seat, push it backward until there is a "click" and the seat will lock in
the original position.
Push the button located at the lower part of the side seatback, and the side seat­
back will slide upward for ease of get­ting to or out of the third seat.
To return the side seatback, push it until a "click" is heard.

Headlamp leveling switch* EEOI G·Aa
The angle of theheadlamp illumination varies depending upon the load carried by the vehicle.
The head lamp leveling switch can be
used to adjust the headlamp illumination distance (when the lower beam is illu­minated) so that the headlamps' glare
does not distract the drivers of ap­proaching vehicles.
Set the switch (referring to the table) to the appropriate position according to the number of people and the load in the vehicle.

During the running-in period for the first
1 ,000 km (600 miles) , it is advisable to drive your new vehicle using the follow­
ing precautions as a guideline to aid long life as well as future economy and
performance.
(1) Do not race the engine at high speeds . (2) Avoid rapid starting, accelerating ,
braking and prolonged high-speed running. (3) Keep to the running-in speed limit shown below.
Please note that the legal speed limits displayed must be adhered to. (4) Do not exceeed loading limits.

2 . Ajoneuvoissa joissa on kasivaihteisto , siirretaan vaihdevipu
vapaalle ja painetaan
kytkin aivan pohjaan. Ajoneuvoissa
joissa on automaattivaihtesto, slirretaan valitsinvipu "P"­asentoon. 3. Kayttakaa kaasupoljinta seuraavasti:
(1) Kin ilman lampbtila on normaali tai moottori lammin kayn­
nistakaa
moottori painamatta kaasupoljinta. (2) Kun ilman lampbtila on matala ja moottori on kylma
kaynnistakaa moottori samalla painaen kaasupoljinta . 11-man lampbtilan ollessa hyvin matala kaynnistyy moottori helpommin jos virta-avaimen kaantaa "ON" asentoon
muutamaksi sekunniksi ennenkuin moottori kaynnistetaan.
Ajoneuvot. joissa on dieselin esilammityksen merk­
kivalo
1. Pankaa pysakbintijarru paalle. 2. Ajoneuvoissa joissa on kasivaihteisto, siirretaan vaihdevipu
vapaalle ja painetaan kytkin aivan pohjaan . Ajoneuvoissa
joissa on automaattivhteisto, slirr etaan valitsinvipu "P"­asentoon.
3 . Kaantakaa virta-avain ON asentoon . Dieselin esilam­
mityksen merkkivalo palaa ensin punaisena ,
muuttuen het­
ken kuluttui vihreaksi merkiksi siita, etta esilammitys on
suoritettu.
Diesel-powered vehicles EI02S·K
Vehicles not equipped with diesel preheat indica­
tion lamp
1 . Apply the parking brake.
2. On vehicles with a manual transmission , move the gearshift
lever to neutral and depress the clutch pedal all the way. On
vehicles with an automatic transmi ssion, move the selector
lever to the" P" position . 3. Operate the accelerator pedal as described below in accor­
dance with the atmospheric temperature and/or engine condition and then start the engine .
(1) When the atmospheric temperature is moderate or the
engine is warm , start the engine without depressing the
accelerator pedal.
(2) When the atmospheric temperature is low and the engine is cold, start the engine while depressing the accelerator
pedal. If the atmospheric temperature is very low, setting

Vehicles equipped with the diesel preheat indication
lamp
1. Apply the parking brake. 2. On vehicles with a manual transmission , move the gearshift
lever to neutral and depress the clutch pedal all the way. On
vehicles with an automatic transmission , move the selector
lever to the" P" position .
3. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. The diesel­
preheat indication lamp will first illuminate in red , and then
after a short time change
to green, indicating that preheat­
ing is completed.

NOTE
The green illumination will automatically stop after a certain
time passes after the glow plug heating has been completed. This is in order to prevent a drain of battery power.
If the green illumination stops, turn the ignition key once more to the "LOCK" position, and then to the "ON" position, in order to preheat again.
4. Operate
the accelerator pedal as described below in accor­
dance with the atmospheric temperature and/or engine condition and then start the engine.
(1) When the atmospheric temperature is moderate or the engine is warm, start the engine without depressing the
accelerator pedal.
(2) When the atmospheric temperature is low and the engine is
co ld, start the engine while depressing the accelerator
pedal. If the atmospheric temperature is very low, setting the ignition switch to "ON" for one or two seconds before attempting to start the engine will make it easier to start.

When the outside air temperature is very low, or when it is necessary to warm up the engine, pullout the control knob to that point at which the engine runs smoothly, and then, once the warming up is complete, push the knob back in.
