Passing acceleration EI04F-Bb For quick acceleration when passing, depressing the accelera­tor pedal all the way to the floor will cause the transmission to automatically shift from 4th gear to 3rd gear, from 3rd gear to 2nd gear or from 2nd gear to 1 st gear, in accordance with the driving speed, without having to move the selector lever from either the "D" or "2" position.
Waiting EI04G-Bb For short waiting periods such as at traffic lights, the vehicle
can be left in gear and held stationary with the service brake.
For longer waiting periods with the engine running, the selector
lever should be placed in the "N" position.
& CAUTION Never hold the vehicle stationary while in gear on a hill with the accelerator; always apply the parking brake and/or service brake. .
Parking EI04H·B To park the vehicle, first bring it to a complete stop, fully engage the parking brake, and then move the selector lever to the "P" position. If you are going to leave the vehicle unattended, always switch off the engine and remove the ignition key.

2-Operation indication lamp of rear
differential lock
The operation
indication lamp will illu­minate for about 5 seconds when the ignition switch is turned on.
In case of operating the rear dif­
ferential lock:
1. Turn on the rear differential lock by pushing the upper side of the rear
differential lock switch. 2. Illumination of the operation indica­tion lamp indicates that the rear
differential lock is operating .
NOTE
Maintain th e vehicle speed below 20 km/h (12.4 mph) during opera­tion of the rear differential lock.

During a long period of disuse The air conditioner should be operated for at least five minutes each a week, even in cold weather. This is to prevent poor lubrication of the compressor internal parts and maintain the air conditioner in the best operating condition.
Rear heater* EH17A-A
The rear air conditioner can be operated while the ignition switch is at the "ON" position.
NOTE
When the engine is started , the operation will be the same as for the settings of the knobs just before the engine was stopped.
Operating the system as a rear
heater EH 17B-A
1-Press the rear heater switch.
The rear heater can be turned on or off by the switch at the front seat as well as by that at the rear seat.
Switch at front seat Pressing the switch turns on the
rear heater. While the rear heater is
in operation, the indicator lamp (A) comes on.

2-Adjust the blower speed as desired
by turning the blower speed control knob. There are three blower speeds for control of the amount of air flow. 3-Adjust to the desired temperature by turning the temperature control lever.
When not in use, place the lever in
the COOL position
When the engine
coolant temperature is low, moving the lever to the high temperature side does not change the air
temperature.
