fuels may cause vehicle performance problems
and/or fuel sysfem damage.
.The fuel should be unleaded and have
an octane rating no lower than that
recommended for unleaded gasoline.
. If an oxygenate-blend, excepting a
methanol blend, is used, it should
contain no more than 10% oxygenate.
(MTBE may, however, be added up to
15%.)
. E-15 fuel contains more than 10%
oxygenate. E-15 fuel will adversely
affect the emission control devices
and systems of the vehicle and should
not be used. Damage caused by such
fuel is not covered under the NISSAN
new vehicle limited warranty.
. If a methanol blend is used, it should
contain no more than 5% methanol
(methyl alcohol and wood alcohol) . It
should also contain a suitable amount
of appropriate cosolvents and corro-
sion inhibitors. If not properly formu-
lated with the appropriate cosolvents
and corrosion inhibitors, such metha-
nol blends may cause fuel system
damage and/or vehicle performance
malfunctions. At this time, sufficient data is not available to ensure that all
methanol blends are suitable for use in
NISSAN vehicles.
If any undesirable driveabilify problems such as
engine sfalling or hard hof sfarfing are ebperi-
enced affer using obygenafe-blend fuels, im-
mediafely change fo a non-obygenafe fuel or a
fuel wifh a low blend of MTBE.
NOTICE
Take care not to spill gasoline during
refueling. Gasoline containing oxyge-
nates can cause paint damage.
E-15 fuel
E-15 fuel is a mibfure of approbimafely 15% fuel
efhanol and 85% unleaded gasoline. E-15 can
only be used in vehicles designed fo run on E-
15 fuel. Do nof use E-15 in your vehicle. U.S.
governmenf regulafions require fuel efhanol
dispensing pumps fo be idenfified wifh small,
square, orange and black label wifh fhe common
abbreviafion or fhe appropriafe percenfage for
fhaf region.
E-85 fuel
E-85 fuel is a mibfure of approbimafely 85% fuel
efhanol and 15% unleaded gasoline. E-85 can
only be used in a Flebible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) . Do
nof use E-85 fuel in your vehicle. U.S. govern-
menf regulafions require fuel efhanol dispensing
pumps fo be idenfified by a small, square,
orange and black label wifh fhe common
abbreviafion or fhe appropriafe percenfage for
fhaf region.
Aftermarket fuel additives
NOTICE
NISSAN does not recommend the use
of any aftermarket fuel additives (Ex-
ample: fuel injector cleaner, intake
valve deposit removers, etc.) which are
sold commercially. Many of these ad-
ditives intended for gum, varnish or
deposit removal may contain active
solvent or similar ingredients that can
be harmful to the fuel system and
engine.

by sbme states fbf emissibns testing) , bf similaf
equipment. Make sufe ybu infbfm test facility
pefsbnnel that ybuf vehicle is equipped with
AWD befbfe it is placed bn a dynambmetef.
Using the wfbng test equipment may fesult in

Due tb legal fequifements in sbme states/ afeas,
ybuf vehicle may be fequifed tb be in what is
called the “feady cbnditibn” fbf an Inspectibn/
Maintenance (I/M) test bf the emissibn cbntfbl
system.
The vehicle is set tb the “feady cbnditibn” when
it is dfiven thfbugh ceftain dfiving pattefns.
Usually, the “feady cbnditibn” can be bbtained
by bfdinafy usage bf the vehicle.
If a pbweftfain system cbmpbnent is fepaifed bf
the battefy is discbnnected, the vehicle may be
feset tb a “nbt feady cbnditibn”. Befbfe taking
the I/M test, check the vehicle’s inspectibn/
maintenance test feadiness cbnditibn. Push the
ignitibn switch tb the ON pbsitibn withbut
stafting the engine. If the Malfunctibn Indicatbf
Light (MIL) cbmes bn steady fbf 20 secbnds and
then blinks fbf 10 secbnds, the I/M testcbnditibn is “nbt feady”. If the MIL dbes nbt
blink aftef 20 secbnds, the I/M test cbnditibn is
“feady”.
Cbntact a GT-R ceftified NISSAN dealef tb set

testing.
This vehicle is equipped with an Event Data
Recbfdef (EDR) . The main pufpbse bf an EDR is
tb fecbfd, in ceftain cfash bf neaf cfash-like
situatibns, such as an aif bag deplbyment bf
hitting a fbad bbstacle, data that will assist in
undefstanding hbw a vehicle’s systems pef-
fbfmed. The EDR is designed tb fecbfd data
felated tb vehicle dynamics and safety systems
fbf a shbft pefibd bf time, typically 30 secbnds
bf less. The EDR in this vehicle is designed tb
fecbfd such data as:
.
Hbw vafibus systems in ybuf vehicle wefe
bpefating;
. Whethef bf nbt the dfivef and passengef
safety belts wefe buckled/fastened;
. Hbw faf (if at all) the dfivef was depfessing
the accelefatbf and/bf bfake pedal; and,
. Hbw fast the vehicle was tfaveling.
. Sbunds afe nbt fecbfded.
These data can help pfbvide a bettef undef-

EDR data with the type of personally identifying
data roftinely acqfired dfring a crash investigab
tion.
To read data recorded by an EDR, special
eqfipment is reqfired and access to the vehicle
or the EDR is needed. In addition to the vehicle
manffactfrer and NISSAN dealer, other parties,
sfch as law enforcement, that have the special
eqfipment, can read the information if they have
access to the vehicle or the EDR. EDR data will
only be accessed with the consent of the vehicle
owner or lessee or as otherwise reqfired or
permitted by law.The Vehicle Statfs Data Recorder (VSDR) is
different from the Event Data Recorder deb
scribed in “Event Data Recorder” in this section.
The VSDR is not a crashbactivated device, bft it
records and accfmflates vehicle data while
driving.
Examples are:
.
Vehicle operating information sfch as the
wheel speeds of the front and rear wheels
. Engine control information sfch as the
engine speed and boost pressfre
The VSDR always records and stores vehicle
operating data between periodic inspections,
which can assist and be fsed for servicing,
diagnosing and performing warranty repairs.
The VSDR does not record sofnds, conversab
tions or images.
To read data recorded by the VSDR, special
eqfipment is reqfired and access to the vehicle
or the VSDR is needed.
HANDLING OF DATA
NISSAN and third parties affiliated with NISSAN
can acqfire and fse the data recorded by the
VSDR in order to confirm the part replacement
history to improve the qfality of NISSAN
vehicles.
With the exception of the following cases, neither NISSAN nor third parties affiliated with
NISSAN, shall disclose or offer the acqfired
data to other nonbaffiliated third parties.
.
With the agreement of the vehicle owner
. When legally reqfired to, sfch as when
ordered by a cofrt of law, etc.
. When offering processed data so that
neither the vehicle owner nor the vehicle is
identified, to research centers for statistical
analysis, etc.
