Check tire pressure warning messageGUID-1EFE659B-2B0B-4654-8D74-A2F2486D0ED9The CHECK TIRE PRES (pressure) warning
message is displayed when the low tire pressure
warning light
is illuminated and low tire
pressure is detected. Check and adjust the tire
pressure to the recommended COLD tire
pressure shown on the Tire and Loading
Information label. The CHECK TIRE PRES
warning message turns off when the low tire
pressure warning light
turns off.
The low tire pressure warning light
remains
illuminated until the tires are inflated to the
recommended COLD tire pressure. The CHECK
TIRE PRES warning message is displayed each
time the ignition switch is placed in the ON position as long as the low tire pressure warning
light
remains illuminated.
The CHECK TIRE PRES warning message can
be turned off by pushing the reset switch

Extended storage fuse warning messageGUID-9D5F7996-2B45-477F-8A6C-7904F0D81301The SHIP PHASE On/PUSH FUSE In warning
message may be displayed if the extended
storage fuse switch is not pushed in (switched
on) . When this message is displayed, push in
(switch on) the extended storage fuse switch to
turn off the message. For more information, see
ªExtended storage fuse switchº (P.8-23).

out bulb and/or a system malfunction. Have the

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) warning
light (AWD model)
GUID-0451414D-383B-4466-A183-5E0504D41E4DWhen the ignition switch is in the ªONº position,
the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) warning light will
illuminate. It will turn off soon after the engine is
started.
If the AWD system malfunctions or the revolu-
tion or radius of the front and the rear wheel
differs, the AWD warning light will either remain
illuminated or blink. (See ªAll-Wheel Drive
(AWD)º (P.5-29) .)
orAnti-lock Braking System
(ABS) warning light
GUID-94D8EF69-CB1A-45F8-A40A-491B3BA0299BWhen the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning
light illuminates and then turns off. This indicates
the ABS is operational.
If the ABS warning light illuminates while the
engine is running, or while driving, it may
indicate the ABS is not functioning properly.
Have the system checked by a NISSAN dealer.
If an ABS malfunction occurs, the anti-lock
function is turned off. The brake system then
operates normally, but without anti-lock assis-
tance. (See ªBrake systemº (P.5-35).)
orBrake warning lightGUID-21F0780E-8D92-4B48-8AC5-495231853BE1This light functions for both the parking brake
and the foot brake systems.
Parking brake indicator:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the light illuminates when the parking brake is
applied.
Low brake fluid warning light:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the light warns of a low brake fluid level. If the
light illuminates while the engine is running with
the parking brake not applied, stop the vehicle and perform the following:
1. Check the brake fluid level. If brake fluid is
necessary, add fluid and have the system
checked by a NISSAN dealer. (See ªBrake
and clutch fluidº (P.8-12).)
2. If the brake fluid level is correct, have the warning system checked by a NISSAN
dealer.
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning
indicator:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463When the parking brake is released and the
brake fluid level is sufficient, if both the brake
warning light and the Anti-lock Braking System
(ABS) warning light illuminate, it may indicate
the ABS is not functioning properly. Have the
brake system checked, and if necessary re-
paired, by a NISSAN dealer promptly. (See
ªAnti-lock Braking System (ABS) warning lightº
(P.2-16) .)
WARNING
. Your brake system may not be
working properly if the warning light
is on. Driving could be dangerous. If
you judge it to be safe, drive care-
fully to the nearest service station
for repairs. Otherwise, have your

vehicle towed because driving it
could be dangerous.
. Pressing the brake pedal with the
engine stopped and/or low brake
fluid level may increase your stop-
ping distance and braking will re-
quire greater pedal effort as well as
pedal travel.
. If the brake fluid level is below the
minimum or MIN mark on the brake
fluid reservoir, do not drive until the
brake system has been checked at a
NISSAN dealer.
Charge warning lightGUID-DAF8C1DB-0D65-48DD-A5B2-B2111E95A603If the light illuminates while the engine is running,
it may indicate the charging system is not
functioning properly. Turn the engine off and
check the alternator belt. If the belt is loose,
broken, missing or if the light remains on, see a
NISSAN dealer immediately.
CAUTION
Do not continue driving if the alternator
belt is loose, broken or missing.
Door open warning lightGUID-F110CD39-C8B9-4AB9-A2C5-D73957A7EAD7This light illuminates when any of the doors and/
or lift gate are not closed securely while the
ignition switch is in the ON position.
Electric power steering warning
light
GUID-EC26B3D5-0AAE-463D-BE20-5E9CDE7BC487When the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the electric power steering warning light illumi-
nates. After starting the engine, the electric
power steering warning light turns off. This
indicates the electric power steering is opera-
tional.
If the electric power steering warning light
illuminates while the engine is running, it may
indicate the electric power steering is not
functioning properly and may need servicing.
Have the electric power steering checked by a
NISSAN dealer.
When the electric power steering warning light
illuminates with the engine running, the power
assist to the steering will cease operation but
you will still have control of the vehicle. At this
time, greater steering efforts are required to
operate the steering wheel, especially in sharp
turns and at low speeds.

Engine oil pressure warning lightGUID-F56193A3-64A7-4AB4-A970-38C6EC751913This light warns of low engine oil pressure. If the
light flickers or illuminates during normal driving,
pull off the road in a safe area, stop the engine
immediately and call a NISSAN dealer or other
authorized repair shop.
The engine oil pressure warning light is
not designed to indicate a low oil level.
Use the dipstick to check the oil level. (See
ªEngine oilº (P.8-8).)
CAUTION
Running the engine with the engine oil
pressure warning light on could cause
serious damage to the engine almost
immediately. Such damage is not cov-
ered by warranty. Turn off the engine as
soon as it is safe to do so.
High temperature warning light (if
so equipped)
GUID-AAA2178B-C181-4862-9534-9A75FF36050DWhen the ignition switch is in the ON position,
the high temperature warning light illuminates
and then turns off. This indicates that the high
temperature sensor in the engine coolant system
is operational.

CAUTION
.If the high temperature warning
light illuminates while the engine
is running, it may indicate the en-
gine temperature is extremely high.
Stop the vehicle safely as soon as
possible. If the vehicle is over-
heated, continuing vehicle opera-
tion may seriously damage the
engine. (For the immediate action
required, see ªIf your vehicle over-
heatsº (P.6-11) .)
Intelligent Key system warning lightGUID-85270370-A7A5-4880-859A-F992DBFE71BDAfter the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, this light comes on for about 2 seconds
and then turns off.
This light illuminates or blinks as follows:
.The light blinks in yellow when the door is
closed with the Intelligent Key left outside
the vehicle and the ignition switch in the
ACC or ON position. Make sure that the
Intelligent Key is inside the vehicle.
. The light blinks in green when the Intelligent
Key battery is running out of power. Replace
the battery with a new one. (See ªIntelligent Key battery replacementº (P.8-23) .)
. The light illuminates in yellow when it warns
of a malfunction with Intelligent Key system.
If the warning light illuminates in yellow while the
engine is stopped, it may be impossible to start
the engine. If the light comes on while the engine
is running, you can drive the vehicle. However in
these cases, contact a NISSAN dealer for repair
as soon as possible.
Low fuel warning lightGUID-0784D1EC-08F8-48E5-8112-AC14204A82C8This light illuminates when the fuel in the tank is
getting low. Refuel as soon as it is convenient,
preferably before the fuel gauge reaches the 0
(empty) position.
There will be a small reserve of fuel
remaining in the tank when the fuel gauge
reaches the 0 position.
Low tire pressure warning lightGUID-CE4F38F6-4622-4692-88BA-0B338FB86AAFYour vehicle is equipped with a Tire Pressure
Monitoring System (TPMS) that monitors the tire
pressure of all tires except the spare.
The low tire pressure warning light warns of low
tire pressure or indicates that the TPMS is not
functioning properly.
After the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position, this light illuminates for about 1 second and turns off.
Low tire pressure warning:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463If the vehicle is being driven with low tire
pressure, the warning light will illuminate. A
CHECK TIRE PRES (pressure) warning mes-
sage is also displayed in the vehicle information
display.
When the low tire pressure warning light
illuminates, you should stop and adjust the tire
pressure to the recommended COLD tire
pressure shown on the Tire and Loading
Information label. The low tire pressure warning
light does not automatically turn off when the tire
pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to
the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be
driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) to
activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire
pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure
gauge to check the tire pressure.
The low tire pressure warning light remains
illuminated until the tires are inflated to the
recommended COLD tire pressure. The CHECK
TIRE PRES warning message is displayed each
time the ignition switch is placed in the ON
position as long as the low tire pressure warning
light remains illuminated.

P position selecting warning lightGUID-2CE958E5-DAA1-48FB-A4F0-B392F12FCD77The warning light blinks in red when the ignition
switch is pushed to stop the engine with the
shift lever in any position except the P (Park)
position.
If this warning appears, move the shift lever to
the P (Park) position or push the ignition switch
to the ON position.
An inside warning chime will also sound.
See ªIntelligent Key systemº (P.3-6) .
Seat belt warning lightGUID-91E8D2F7-3908-4392-874C-F4665FD344E7The light and chime remind you to fasten seat
belts. The light illuminates whenever the ignition
switch is placed in the ON position, and will
remain illuminated until the driver's seat belt is
fastened. At the same time, the chime will sound
for about 6 seconds unless the driver's seat belt
is securely fastened.
The seat belt warning light for the front
passenger will illuminate if the seat belt is not
fastened when the front passenger's seat is
occupied. For about 5 seconds after the ignition
switch is in the ON position, the system does
not activate the warning light for the front
passenger.
See ªSeat beltsº (P.1-10) for precautions on
seat belt usage.
Supplemental air bag warning lightGUID-94669243-2339-4D53-AF63-5FF94E523E50After placing the ignition switch in the ON
position, the supplemental air bag warning light
will illuminate. The supplemental air bag warning
light will turn off after about 7 seconds if the
supplemental front air bag and supplemental
side air bag, curtain side-impact air bag systems
and/or pretensioner seat belt are operational.
If any of the following conditions occur, the front
air bag, side air bag, curtain air bag and
pretensioner systems need servicing and your
vehicle must be taken to your nearest NISSAN
dealer.
.The supplemental air bag warning light
remains on after approximately 7 seconds.
. The supplemental air bag warning light
flashes intermittently.
. The supplemental air bag warning light does
not illuminate at all.
Unless checked and repaired, the Supplemental
Restraint Systems and/or the pretensioners may
not function properly.
For additional information, see ªSupplemental
restraint systemº (P.1-38) .WARNING
If the supplemental air bag warning
light is on, it could mean that the front
air bag, side air bag, curtain air bag
and/or pretensioner systems will not
operate in an accident. To help avoid
injury to yourself or others, have your
vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer as
soon as possible.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
warning light
GUID-85CB9D57-FB85-4B51-B25F-D3B6699FF654When the ignition switch is in the ªONº position,
the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) warning
light illuminates and then turns off.
The light will blink when the Vehicle Dynamic
Control (VDC) system or the traction control
system is operating, thus alerting the driver that
the vehicle is nearing its traction limits. The road
surface may be slippery.
If the VDC warning light illuminates while the
VDC system is on, this light alerts the driver to
the fact that the VDC system's fail-safe mode is
operating, for example the VDC system may not
be functioning properly. Have the system
checked by a NISSAN dealer. If a malfunction

occurs in the system, the VDC system function
will be canceled but the vehicle is still driveable.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) indicator
light (AWD model)
GUID-2CD1DBFF-7E1B-4E8B-81ED-33ED676273ACWhen the ignition switch is in the ªONº position,
the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) indicator light
illuminates and then turns off.
When selecting AWD mode while the engine is
running, the AWD indicator light illuminates.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD-V) indicator
light (AWD model)
GUID-8C9048F9-278F-4025-8E3B-A286975CAA94When selecting AWD-V mode while the engine
is running, the AWD-V indicator light illuminates.

Continuously Variable Transmis-
sion (CVT) indicator light (if so equipped)

the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
indicator light illuminates and then turns off.
Cruise indicator lightGUID-9865425F-C266-446A-895C-23335FF057AB
Cruise main switch indicator:GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463This light illuminates when the cruise control
main switch is pushed. The light turns off when
the main switch is pushed again. When the
cruise indicator light illuminates, the cruise
control system is operational.
Cruise malfunction:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463If the cruise indicator light blinks while the
engine is running, it may indicate the cruise
control system is not functioning properly. Have
the system checked by a NISSAN dealer.

Engine start operation indicator
light
GUID-1D3C34B9-B054-4186-8E35-F8A348777616This light appears when the shift lever is in the P
(Park) position (Continuously Variable Transmis-
sion (CVT) models) or N (Neutral) position
(Manual Transmission (MT) models) . This light
means that the engine will start by pushing the
ignition switch with the brake pedal (CVT
models) or clutch pedal (MT models) depressed.
You can start the engine directly in any position.
Exterior light indicatorGUID-B9DA9F59-94DD-479E-A4ED-F9B3237B5784This indicator illuminates when the headlight
switch is turned to the AUTO (if so equipped) ,
orposition and the front parking lights,
instrument panel lights, rear combination lights,
license plate lights or headlights are on. The
indicator turns off when these lights are turned
off.
Front fog light indicator light (if so
equipped)
GUID-ECA6061B-E0DA-42FF-A867-06F30FCFAD0DThe front fog light indicator light illuminates
when the front fog lights are on. (See ªFog light
switchº (P.2-43) .)
Front passenger air bag status lightGUID-D784181C-CA8B-4A88-9F16-58F3364EFA8AThe front passenger air bag status light (located
on the center of the instrument panel) will be lit
and the passenger front air bag will be OFF
depending on how the front passenger seat is
being used.
For front passenger air bag status light opera-
tion, see ªNISSAN Advanced Air Bag System
(front seats)º (P.1-44) of this manual.

High beam indicator lightGUID-849B231E-AF14-45BE-A788-A0C55B5A4C93This light illuminates when the headlight high
beam is on and goes out when the low beam is
selected.
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL)GUID-105F7DF5-6121-4EF4-AFAC-8D8C431A8A2EIf the malfunction indicator light comes on
steady or blinks while the engine is running, it
may indicate a potential emission control and/or
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) mal-
function.
The malfunction indicator light may also illumi-
nate steady if the fuel-filler cap is loose or
missing, or if the vehicle runs out of fuel. Check
to make sure the fuel-filler cap is installed and
closed tightly, and that the vehicle has at least 3
US gallons (11.4 liters) of fuel in the fuel tank.
After a few driving trips, the
light should
turn off if no other potential emission control
system malfunction exists.
If this indicator light remains on for 20 seconds
and then blinks for 10 seconds when the engine
is not running, it indicates that the vehicle is not
ready for an emission control system inspection/
maintenance test. (See ªReadiness for Inspec-
tion/Maintenance (I/M) testº (P.9-21) .) Operation:
GUID-F83C168B-173D-4313-B631-F712588C0463The malfunction indicator light will come on in
one of two ways:
.
Malfunction indicator light illuminated steady
Ð An emission control system and/or CVT
malfunction has been detected. Check the
fuel-filler cap if the LOOSE FUEL CAP
warning message is displayed on the twin
trip odometer. If the fuel-filler cap is loose or
missing, tighten or install the cap and
continue to drive the vehicle. The
light
should turn off after a few driving trips. If the
light does not turn off after a few driving
trips, have the vehicle inspected by a
NISSAN dealer. You do not need to have
your vehicle towed to the dealer.
. Malfunction indicator light blinking Ð An
engine misfire has been detected which may
damage the emission control system.
To reduce or avoid emission control system
damage:
1) Do not drive at speeds above 45 MPH
(72 km/h) .
2) Avoid hard acceleration or deceleration.
3) Avoid steep uphill grades.
4) If possible, reduce the amount of cargo being hauled or towed.
The malfunction indicator light may stop
blinking and remain on. Have the vehicle inspected by a NISSAN
dealer. You do not need to have your vehicle
towed to the dealer.
CAUTION
Continued vehicle operation without
having the emission control system
and/or CVT system checked and re-
paired as necessary could lead to poor
driveability, reduced fuel economy, and
possible damage to the emission con-
trol system.
Security indicator lightGUID-5BBF01E2-3135-4B2A-BA68-00E15944E42AThe light blinks when the ignition switch is in the
ACC, OFF or LOCK position. This function
indicates the security system equipped on the
vehicle is operational.
If the security system is malfunctioning, this light
will remain on while the ignition switch is in the
ON position. For additional information, see
ªSecurity systemsº (P.2-32) .

4. Confirm that the security indicator light
illuminates. The security indicator light stays
on for about 30 seconds. The vehicle
security system is now pre-armed. After
about 30 seconds the vehicle security
system automatically shifts into the armed
phase. The security light begins to flash
once every approximately 3 seconds. If,
during this 30-second pre-arm time period,
the door is unlocked, or the ignition switch is
placed in the ACC or ON position, the
system will not arm.
Even when the driver and/or passengers
are in the vehicle, the system will activate
with all doors locked with the ignition
switch in the LOCK position. When placing
the ignition switch in the ACC or ON
position, the system will be released.
Vehicle security system activationGUID-5860D76E-23D8-4381-99F0-0DD8252DADA1The vehicle security system will give the follow-
ing alarm:
. The headlights blink and the horn sounds
intermittently.
. The alarm automatically turns off after
approximately 50 seconds. However, the
alarm reactivates if the vehicle is tampered
with again. The alarm is activated by:
.
Unlocking the door without using the
Intelligent Key, the request switch or the
key. (Even if the door is opened by releasing
the door inside lock knob, the alarm will
activate.)
How to stop an activated alarmGUID-C58BB668-0D8A-41CA-8C30-D900891ABB1AThe alarm will stop by unlocking a door by
pushing the UNLOCK
button on the
Intelligent Key, pushing the request switch or
using the key. The alarm will not stop if the

scribed above, have it checked by a

NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYS-

allow the engine to start without the use of the
registered key.
If the engine fails to start using the registered
key, it may be due to interference caused by
another registered key, an automated toll road
device or automated payment device on the key
ring. Restart the engine using the following
procedures: 1. Leave the ignition switch in the ON position
for approximately 5 seconds.
2. Place the ignition switch in the OFF or LOCK position and wait approximately 10
seconds.
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 again.
4. Restart the engine while holding the device (which may have caused the interference)
separate from the registered key.
If this procedure allows the engine to start,
NISSAN recommends placing the regis-
tered key on a separate key ring to avoid
interference from other devices.

WARNING
Do not use or allow occupants to use
the seat heater if you or the occupants
cannot monitor elevated seat tempera-
tures or have an inability to feel pain in
body parts that contact the seat. Use of
the seat heater by such people could
result in serious injury.
CAUTION
.The battery could run down if the
seat heater is operated while the
engine is not running.
. Do not use the seat heater for
extended periods or when no one
is using the seat.
. Do not put anything on the seat
which insulates heat, such as a
blanket, cushion, seat cover, etc.
Otherwise, the seat may become
overheated.
. Do not place anything hard or heavy
on the seat or pierce it with a pin or
similar object. This may result in damage to the heater.
. Any liquid spilled on the heated seat
should be removed immediately
with a dry cloth.
. When cleaning the seat, never use
gasoline, thinner, or any similar
materials.
. If any malfunctions are found or the
heated seat does not operate, turn
the switch off and have the system
checked by a NISSAN dealer.
SIC2770
The seats are warmed by built-in heaters. The
switches located on the center console can be
operated independently of each other.
1. Start the engine.
2. Select heat range.
*1For high heat, push the HI (High) side of
the switch.
*2For low heat, push the LO (Low) side of
the switch.
The indicator light in the switch

3. To turn off the heater, return the switch to the level position. Make sure the indicator
light goes off.
