1.SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT
Turn ignition switch ON.
Does the seat belt warning lamp come ON?
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> • Check 10A fuse [No. 8, loca ted in the fuse block (J/B)].
• Check seat belt buckle switch (driver seat).
• Check harness between combination meter and seat belt buckle switch (driver seat).
• Check combination meter. Refer to MWI-11, "
METER SYSTEM : Fail-safe" (type A) or MWI-62,
"METER SYSTEM : Fail-safe" (type B).
2.SEAT BELT BUCKLE (DRIVER SEAT)
Fasten the seat belt buckle (driver seat).
Does the seat belt warning lamp go OFF?
YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> • Check seat belt buckle switch (driver seat). • Check harness between combination meter and seat belt buckle switch (driver seat).
3.OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
Have a helper sit in the passenger seat.
Does the seat belt warning lamp go ON?
YES >> GO TO 4.
NO >> • Check occupant classification system. Refer to SRC-11, "
OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYS-
TEM : System Description".
• Check harness between occupant classification control unit and air bag diagnosis sensor unit.
4.SEAT BELT BUCKLE (PASSENGER SEAT)
Fasten the seat belt buckle (passenger seat).
Does the seat belt warning lamp go OFF?
YES >> System OK.
NO >> • Check seat belt buckle switch (passenger seat). • Check harness between seat belt buckle switch (passenger seat) and air bag diagnosis sensor
unit.
• Replace air bag diagnosis sensor unit. Refer to SR-30, "
Removal and Installation".

1.CHECK THE ILLUMINATION OF THE EPS WARNING LAMP
Check that the EPS warning lamp turns ON when igni tion switch turns ON. Then, EPS warning lamp turns
OFF after the engine is started.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Inspection End.
NO >> Perform trouble diagnosis. Refer to STC-29, "
Diagnosis Procedure".

1.PERFORM SELF DIAGNOSTIC RESULT
With CONSULT
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF to ON.
2. Perform “Self Diagnostic Result” of “EPS”.
Is any DTC detected?
YES >> Check the DTC. Refer to STC-10, "DTC Index".
NO >> GO TO 2.
2.CHECK EPS WARNING LAMP SIGNAL
With CONSULT
1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
CAUTION:
Never start the engine.
2. Select “Data Monitor” of “ EPS” and select “WARNING LAMP”.
3. Check that the EPS warning lamp is turned ON.
4. Start the engine. CAUTION:
Never drive the vehicle.
5. Check that the EPS warning lamp is turned OFF.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Perform the trouble diagnosis for combination meter power supply circuit. Refer to MWI-43,
"COMBINATION METER : Diagnosis Procedure" (Type A) or MWI-98, "COMBINATION METER :
Diagnosis Procedure" (Type B).
NO >> Replace the EPS control unit. Refer to STC-37, "
Removal and Installation".

Approximately 2 seconds after ignition switch ON.
OPERATION AT COMBNATION METER CNA COMMUNICATION CUT-OFF OR UNUSUAL SIGNAL
For actions on CAN communications blackout in the combnation meter, refer to MWI-23, "Fail-safe".

SIGNAL PATH
• When a overdrive control switch signal is input to the combination meter, the combination meter transmits
the overdrive control switch signal to the TCM via CAN communication.
• When all of the following conditions are satisfied, t he TCM transmits a O/D OFF indicator signal to the com-
bination meter via CAN communication. The combination meter turns ON the O/D OFF indicator lamp on the
combination meter, according to the signal.
- TCM receives overdrive control switch signal via CAN communication from combination meter.
- Selector lever: D position
LIGHTING CONDITION
When all of the following conditions are satisfied.
• Ignition switch: ON
• Selector lever: D position
• Overdrive control switch is pressed when the O/D OFF indicator lamp is OFF.
SHUTOFF CONDITION
When any of the conditions listed below is satisfied.
• Ignition switch: Other than ON
• Overdrive control switch is pressed when the O/D OFF indicator lamp is ON.
• Selector lever is shifted to other than D position when the O/D OFF indicator lamp is ON.

1. Connect all of disconnected connectors.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Select “Data Monito r” in “METER/M&A”.
4. Select “O/D OFF SW”.
5. Check that “O/D OFF SW” turns ON/OFF when ov erdrive control switch is operated. Refer to MWI-21,
"Reference Value".
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Check intermittent incident. Refer to GI-42, "Intermittent Incident".
NO >> Replace combination meter. Refer to MWI-54, "

YES >> Replace combination meter. Refer to MWI-54, "Removal and Installation".
NO >> GO TO 4.
4.CHECK TCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT
1. Select “Data Monitor” in “TRANSMISSION”.
2. Select “SPORT MODE SW”.
3. Check that “SPORT MODE SW” tu rns ON/OFF when overdrive control switch is operated. Refer to TM-
99, "Reference Value".

WARNING HISTORY
W/L ON HISTORY
• Stores histories when warning/indicator lamp is turned on.
• “W/L ON HISTORY” indicates the “TIME” when the warning/ indicator lamp is turned on.
• The “TIME” above is:
- 0: The condition that the warning/indicator lamp has been turned on 1 or more times after starting the engine and waiting for 30 seconds.
- 1 - 39: The number of times the engine was restarted after the 0 condition.
- NO W/L ON HISTORY: Stores NO (0) turning on history of warning/indicator lamp.
NOTE:
• W/L ON HISTORY is not stored for approximately 30 seconds after the engine starts.
• Brake warning lamp does not store any history when the parking brake is applied or the brake fluid level gets low.

ON BOARD DIAGNOSIS
The following meter functions can be checked during Combination Meter Self-Diagnosis Mode:
• Pointer sweep of speedometer, tachometer and gauges.
• Illumination of all lamps/LEDs that are controlled by the combination meter (regardless of switch status).
• Error code
STARTING COMBINATION ME TER SELF-DIAGNOSIS MODE
NOTE:
• Check combination meter power supply and ground circuits if self-diagnosis mode does not start. Refer to
MWI-98, "
COMBINATION METER : Diagnosis Procedure". Replace combination meter if power supply and
ground circuits are found to be normal and self-diagnosis mode does not start. Refer to MWI-115, "
Removal
and Installation".
• Combination meter self-diagnosis mode will function with the ignition switch in ON. Combination meter self- diagnosis mode will exit upon turning the ignition switch to OFF.
METHOD OF STARTING
1. Turn ignition switch to OFF.
2. While pressing the trip reset switch (1), turn the ignition switch
ON.
3. Press the trip reset switch at least 3 times. (Within 7 seconds
after the ignition switch is turned ON.)
4. All LCD segments turn ON. NOTE:
