and the seat belt in the order shown.

tor tongue and the seat belt tongue
are secured when using the seat
belt or installing a child restraint. Do
not use the seat belt or child
restraint with only the seat belt
tongue attached. This could result

an accident or a sudden stop.

Stowing 3rd row center seat belt:GUID-D73A39BF-43C8-459F-9C24-47B7F579C407When folding down the 3rd row seat, the 3rd
row center seat belt can be retracted into a
stowed position as follows:
1. Hold the connector tongue
*1so that the
seat belt does not retract suddenly when the
tongue is released from the connector
buckle. Release the connector tongue by
inserting a suitable tool such as key
*Ainto
the connector buckle.
2. Insert the seat belt tongue into the retractor base first

3. Then secure the connector tongue into the retractor base

WARNING
Do not unfasten the 3rd row center seat
belt connector except when folding
down the rear seat.

.When the ignition switch is placed in the
OFF position and then back to the ON
position.
WARNING
.Do not use the MOD system when
towing a trailer. The system may not
function properly.
. Excessive noise (for example, audio
system volume or open vehicle
window) will interfere with the
chime sound, and it may not be
heard.
. The MOD system performance will
be limited according to environmen-
tal conditions and surrounding ob-
jects such as:
Ð When there is low contrast be-
tween background and the mov-
ing objects
Ð When there is blinking source of light.
Ð When strong light such as an- other vehicle's headlight or sun-
light is present. Ð When there is dirt, water drops
or snow on the camera lens.
Ð When the position of the moving objects in the display is not
changed.
. The MOD system might detect flow-
ing water droplets on the camera
lens, white smoke from the muffler,
moving shadows, etc.
. The MOD system may not function
properly depending on the speed,
direction, distance or shape of the
moving objects.
. If your vehicle sustains damage to
the parts where the camera is
installed, leaving it misaligned or
bent, the sensing zone may be
altered and the MOD system may
not detect objects properly.
. When the temperature is extremely
high or low, the screen may not
display objects clearly. This is not a
malfunction.

the MOD system may not operate properly.
Clean the camera.
SETTING MOVING OBJECT DETEC-
TION (MOD) ON/OFF

push the SETTING button, select the ªDriver
Assistanceº key.
Moving Object Detection (MOD):
When this item is set to ON, the MOD is
activated. When this item is turned to OFF
(indicator turns off) , the MOD system is
deactivated.
MOD MALFUNCTIONGUID-6FE0810E-C774-474A-845D-D5D5936481DBWhen the orange MOD icon is displayed in the
view, the system is not functioning properly. This
will not hinder normal driving operation but the
system should be inspected by a NISSAN
dealer.

Overdrive (O/D) OFF switchGUID-ABC541E2-C15D-47C3-BECA-952AC6C42B5BWhen the O/D OFF switch is pushed with the
shift lever in the D (Drive) position, the
indicator light in the instrument panel illuminates.
Use the overdrive off mode when you need
improved engine braking.
To turn off the overdrive off mode, push the O/D
OFF switch again. The
indicator light will
turn off.
Each time the engine is started, or when the shift
lever is shifted to any position other than the D
(Drive) position, the overdrive off mode will be
automatically turned off.
Accelerator downshift Ð In D position ÐGUID-6F2528F8-7C30-4D84-ACB1-886040E69E34For passing or hill climbing, fully depress the
accelerator pedal to the floor. This shifts the
transmission down into a lower gear, depending
on the vehicle speed.
High fluid temperature protection modeGUID-C0263A9D-0737-4C81-B0F9-D670C4B337C5This transmission has a high fluid temperature
protection mode. If the fluid temperature be-
comes too high (for example, when climbing
steep grades in high temperature with heavy
loads, such as when towing a trailer) , engine
power and, under some conditions, vehicle
speed will be decreased automatically to reduce
the chance of transmission damage. Vehicle
speed can be controlled with the accelerator
pedal, but the engine and vehicle speed may be
limited.
Fail-safeGUID-86C18CEC-91C6-4574-ACFA-37D36E7C0DACIf the vehicle is driven under extreme
conditions, such as excessive wheel spin-
ning and subsequent hard braking, the
fail-safe system may be activated. This will
occur even if all electrical circuits are
functioning properly. In this case, place
the ignition switch in the OFF position and
wait for 10 seconds. Then place the igni-
tion switch back in the ON position. The
vehicle should return to its normal operat- ing condition. If it does not return to its
normal operating condition, have a
NISSAN dealer check the transmission
and repair if necessary.
WARNING
When the high fluid temperature pro-
tection mode or fail-safe operation
occurs, vehicle speed may be gradually
reduced. The reduced speed may be
lower than other traffic, which could
increase the chance of a collision. Be
especially careful when driving. If ne-
cessary, pull to the side of the road at a
safe place and allow the transmission
to return to normal operation, or have it
repaired if necessary.

driving in a narrow lane, the radar
sensors may detect vehicles driving
two lanes away.
. The radar sensors are designed to
ignore most stationary objects,
however objects such as guardrails,
walls, foliage and parked vehicles
may occasionally be detected. This
is a normal operating condition.
. Severe weather or road spray con-
ditions may reduce the ability of the
radar to detect other vehicles.
. Do not use the BSW system when
towing a trailer because the system
may not function properly.
. Excessive noise (for example, audio
system volume, open vehicle win-
dow) will interfere with the chime
sound, and it may not be heard.

However, if the overtaking vehicle is traveling
much faster than your vehicle, the indicator light
may not illuminate before the detected vehicle is
beside your vehicle. Always use the side and
rear mirrors and turn and look in the direction
your vehicle will move to ensure it is safe to
change lanes.

4.Lower the vehicle slowly until the tire
touches the ground. Then, with the wheel
nut wrench, tighten the wheel nuts securely
in the sequence as illustrated. Lower the
vehicle completely.
5. Securely store the flat tire, jack and tools in the vehicle.
WARNING
.Incorrect wheel nuts or improperly
tightened wheel nuts can cause the
wheel to become loose or come off.
This could cause an accident.
. Do not use oil or grease on the
wheel studs or nuts. This could
cause the nuts to become loose.
. Retighten the wheel nuts when the
vehicle has been driven for 600
miles (1,000 km) (also in cases of a
flat tire, etc.) .
.As soon as possible, tighten the
wheel nuts to the specified torque
with a torque wrench.
Wheel nut tightening torque: 80 ft-lb (108 N´m)
The wheel nuts must be kept tigh- tened to specification at all times. It
is recommended that wheel nuts be
tightened to specifications at each
lubrication interval.
.Adjust tire pressure to the COLD
pressure.
COLD pressure:
After the vehicle has been parked
for three hours or more or driven
less than 1 mile (1.6 km) .
COLD tire pressures are shown on
the Tire and Loading Information
label affixed to the driver side center
pillar.
Stowing the spare tire and the toolsGUID-D067B480-FEC0-4ABB-8FD0-F9C4BA40EABASecurely store the spare tire, jack and tools in
their original location.
WARNING
. Always make sure that the spare tire
and jacking equipment are properly
secured after use. Such items can
become dangerous projectiles in an
accident or sudden stop.
. The T-type spare tire and small size
spare tire are designed for emer- gency use. See specific instructions
under the heading ªWheels and
tiresº (P.8-30) .

Canada) and local regulations for towing must
be followed. Incorrect towing equipment could
damage your vehicle. Towing instructions are
available from a NISSAN dealer. Local service
operators are familiar with the applicable laws
and procedures for towing. To assure proper
towing and to prevent accidental damage to
your vehicle, NISSAN recommends that you
have a service operator tow your vehicle. It is
advisable to have the service operator carefully
read the following precautions.
WARNING
.Never ride in a vehicle that is being
towed.
. Never get under your vehicle after it
has been lifted by a tow truck.
CAUTION
.When towing, make sure that the
transmission, axles, steering system
and drivetrain are in working condi-
tion. If any unit is damaged, dollies
must be used. .
Always attach safety chains before
towing.
For information about towing your vehicle behind
a recreational vehicle (RV) , see ªFlat towingº
(P.9-24) of this manual.

TOWING RECOMMENDED BY
NISSAN
GUID-DAEEA07F-BA1F-4483-BBDA-83F786579A9FNISSAN recommends that your vehicle be
towed with the driving (front) wheels off the
ground or place the vehicle on a flat bed truck as
illustrated.
CAUTION
.Never tow Continuously Variable
Transmission (CVT) models with
the front wheels on the ground or
four wheels on the ground (forward
or backward) , as this may cause serious and expensive damage to
the drivetrain. If it is necessary to
tow the vehicle with the rear wheels
raised, always use towing dollies
under the front wheels.
. When towing CVT models with the
front wheels on towing dollies:
Ð Push the ignition switch to the
ACC or ON position, and secure
the steering wheel in a straight-
ahead position with a rope or
similar device.
Ð Move the shift lever to the N (Neutral) position. .
When towing a CVT model with the
rear wheels on the ground (if you do
not use towing dollies): Always
release the parking brake.

.Pulling devices should be routed so
they do not touch any part of the
suspension, steering, brake or cool-
ing systems.
. Pulling devices such as ropes or
canvas straps are not recommended
for use in vehicle towing or recov-
ery.
Rocking a stuck vehicleGUID-80608F11-4F10-4FDC-B323-F0062D15C0B6If your vehicle is stuck in sand, snow, mud, etc.,
use the following procedure:
1. Turn off the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
system.
2. Make sure the area in front and behind the vehicle is clear of obstructions.
3. Turn the steering wheel right and left to clear an area around the front tires.
4. Slowly rock the vehicle forward and back- ward.
.Shift back and forth between R (Reverse)and D (Drive) .
.Apply the accelerator as little as possibleto maintain the rocking motion.
.Release the accelerator pedal before
shifting between R and D.
.Do not spin the tires above 35 MPH (55 km/h) .
5. If the vehicle cannot be freed after a few tries, contact a professional towing service
to remove the vehicle.
