Practical information








Towing a trailer
We recommend the use of genuinePEUGEOT towbars and their harnessesthat have been tested and approved from the design stage of your vehicle, and that the fitting of the towbar is entrusted to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.If the towbar is not fitted by a PEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative that it is fitted in accordance with the vehiclemanufacturer's instructions.

Driving with a trailer places greater demands on the towing vehicle and the driver must take par ticular care.

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10 % for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.



Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine PEUGEOT towbar is used.

Fitting roof bars
Maximum authorised weight on theroof bars, for a loading height notexceeding 40 cm (with the exception of bicycle carriers): refer to the instructions provided with the roof bars. If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt the speed of the vehicle to the profile of the road to avoid damaging the roof bars and the fixings on the roof.Be sure to refer to national legislation inorder to comply with the regulations for transporting objects which are longer than the vehicle.

Contact a PEUGE
OT dealer or a qualified workshop for the installation of longitudinal bars.
To install transverse roof bars, obser ve the fitting positions indicated by markings on the
longitudinal roof bars.
Use accessories recommended by PEUGEOT, o b s e r v i ng the manufacturer's recommendations and fitting instructions
so as to avoid the risk of damaging the body (deformation, scratches, ...).
To place a load on the roof, it is necessary to mount the load on thetransverse roof bars.
The longitudinal roof bars are not removable.

Practical information
The fitting of electrical equipment or accessories which are not recommended by PEUGEOT may resultin a failure of your vehicle's electronicsystem and excessive electrical consumption. Please note this precaution. Youare advised to contact a PEUGEOTrepresentative to be shown the range of recommended equipment and accessories.


Installation of radio communication transmitters

Before installing any after-market radio communication transmitter, you can contact a PEUGEOT dealer for the specification of transmitters which canbe fitted (frequency, maximum power, aerial position, specific installationrequirements), in line with the VehicleElectromagnetic Compatibility Directive(2004/104/EC).




Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest,warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle. B
y visiting a PEUGEOT dealer, you can also
obtain products for cleaning and maintenance (exterior and interior) - including ecological products in the "TECHNATURE" range, toppingup products (screenwash...), touch-up pens and paint aerosols for the exact colour of your
vehicle, refills (cartridge for the temporary puncture repair kit...), ...



"Multimedia":

audio systems, por table satellite navigationsystems, semi-integral suppor t for por tablesatellite navigation system, hands-free kit, speakers, DVD player, connection kit for MP3

Bonnet
)Open the left hand front door.


Before doing anything under the bonnet,switch off the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from anautomatic change to STA R T m o d e .


Closing
)
Take the stay out of its suppor t slot. )
Clip the stay back into its housing. )
Lower the bonnet and release it at the endof its travel. )
Pull on the bonnet to check that it has
latched correctly.
)
Unclip the stay from its housing and place itin the suppor t slot to hold the bonnet open.

Do not open the bonnet under very windy conditions.When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the stay with care (risk of burns).To avoid damaging electrical units,it is strictly forbiddento use a high pressure jet wash under the bonnet.




Opening
)
Lift the safety catch and raise the bonnet.


)Pull the release lever, located at the bottom
of the door aper ture, towards you.

Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level is reached this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel. There remainsapproximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
When the warning lamp flashes there is very little fuel remaining in the tank.
The key cannot be removed from the lock until the cap is refitted. Removing the filler cap may cause an inrush of air. This vacuum is per fectly normal and results from the sealing of
the system.



























Fuel tank
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.

A self-adhesive label on the inner face of thefiller flap reminds you of the type of fuel to use
depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres to be registered by the fuel gauge.


Filling


To fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off,)open the fuel filler flap by pressing at
its rear, )inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to
the left,
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
)remove the cap and hook it onto the cliplocated on the inside of the flap, )fill the tank, but do not continue after the
3rd cut- off of the pump ; this could causemalfunctions. You must re
fuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
