Diesel additive level (Diesel with particle emission ﬁlter)
The minimum level of this additive is in-dicated by lighting of the service warn-ing light, accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunc-tion display.
Used products
CHECKS
Unless otherwise indicated, check these components in accordance with the servicing booklet and in relation to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery
The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check that the ter-minals are clean and correctly tightened, particularly in sum-mer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery, refer to the "Practical information" sec-tion for details of the precautions to be taken before disconnecting the battery and following its reconnection.
Air ﬁlter and passenger compartment ﬁlter
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the replacement intervals for these compo-nents.
Depending on the environ-ment (dusty atmosphere...) and the use of the vehicle (city driving...), replace them twice as often if necessary (re-fer to the "Engines" paragraph).
A clogged passenger compartment ﬁlter may have an adverse effect on the per-formance of the air conditioning system and generate undesirable odours.
Particle emission ﬁlter (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance of the particle emission ﬁlter is carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Oil ﬁlter
Replace the oil ﬁlter each time the engine oil is changed.
Refer to the servicing booklet for details of the replacement interval for this component.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer with-out delay.

Automatic gearbox
The gearbox does not re-quire any maintenance (no oil change).

Brake disc drum wear status
For any information relating to checking of the brake disc and/or drum wear status, con-tact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Brake pads
Brake wear depends on the style of driving, particularly in the case of vehicles used in town, over short distances. It may be necessary to have the condition of the brakes checked, even between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak on the circuit, a drop in the brake ﬂuid level indicates that the brake pads are worn.
Handbrake
If the handbrake travel is too long or if you notice a loss of effectiveness of this sys-tem, the handbrake must be adjusted, even between two services.
This system must be checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel for the spare wheel using the tools provided with the vehicle.
The tools are installed in the boot under the ﬂoor.
To gain access to them:
 open the boot, raise the ﬂoor,
 secure it by hooking the cord(s) on the hook(s) on the rear shelf sup-port,
 remove the box containing the tools.
1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel ﬁxing bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt pro-tectors (covers) on alloy wheels.
4. Socket for the anti-theft bolts (located in the glove box).
Permits adaptation of the wheel-brace to the special "anti-theft" bolts.

Access to the spare wheel (Saloon)
The spare wheel is installed in the boot under the ﬂoor.
According to model, the spare wheel may be steel or of the "space saving" type.
To gain access to it, refer to the para-graph "Access to the tools" on the pre-vious page.
Taking out the wheel
 Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
 Raise the spare wheel towards you from the rear.
 Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
 Put the wheel back in its housing.
 Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a few turns then put it in place in the centre of the wheel.
 Tighten fully until the central bolt clicks to retain the wheel correctly.
 Put the box back in place in the centre of the wheel.
 Put the boot ﬂoor back in place.

Access to the spare wheel (SW)
The spare wheel is installed in the boot under the ﬂoor.

Removing the wheelList of operations
 Remove the chromed bolt cover from each of the bolts using the tool 3.
 Fit the anti-theft socket 4 on the wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft bolt.
 Unlock the other bolts using the wheelbrace 1 only.
 Place the jack 2 in contact with one of the two front A or rear B locations provided on the underframe, which-ever is closest to the wheel to be changed.
 Extend the jack 2 until its base plate is in contact with the ground. Ensure that the centreline of the jack base plate is directly below the location Aor B used.
 Raise the vehicle until there is suf-ﬁcient space between the wheel and the ground to admit the spare (not punctured) wheel easily.
 Remove the bolts and store them in a clean place.
 Remove the wheel.

Fitting the wheelList of operations
 Put the wheel in place on the hub.
 Screw in the bolts by hand to the stop.
 Pre-tighten the anti-theft bolt using the wheelbrace 1 ﬁtted with the anti-theft socket 4.
 Pre-tighten the other bolts using the wheelbrace 1 only.
 Lower the vehicle fully.
 Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
 Lock the anti-theft bolt using the wheelbrace 1 ﬁtted with the anti-theft socket 4.
 Lock the other bolts using the wheel-brace 1 only.
 Reﬁt the chromed bolt covers on each of the bolts.
 Store the tools in the box.

CHANGING A BULB
Procedure for the replacement of a faulty bulb with a new bulb without the use of tools.
1. Direction indicators (PY 21 W amber).
2. Side lights (W 5 W).
3. Dipped headlamps (H7-55 W).
4. Main beam headlamps (H1-55 W).
5. Directional headlamps(H7-55 W).
6. Fog lamps (H11-55 W).
Changing the direction indicators
Model with dipped headlamps with elliptical module and directional headlamps
 Turn the bulb holder one quarter of a turn and remove it.
 Pull the bulb then change it.
To reﬁt, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Front lights
Model with conventional lights
Blown bulb
A message appears on the multifunc-tion display to indicate the bulb to be changed.
Refer to the appropriate procedure to change the corresponding bulb.

Changing the side lights
 Disconnect the main headlamp con-nector.
 Remove the plastic protective cover by pulling on the tab.
 Turn the bulb holder one quarter of a turn and remove it.
 Pull the bulb and change it.To reﬁt, carry out these operations in reverse order.
Changing the dipped headlamps, main beam headlamps or directional headlamps
 Disconnect the main headlamp con-nector.
 Remove the corresponding plastic protective cover by pulling on the tab.
Changing the integrated direction indicator side repeaters
 Insert a screwdriver towards the centre of the repeater between the repeater and the base of the mirror.
 Tilt the screwdriver to extract the re-peater and remove the repeater.
 Disconnect the repeater connector.
To reﬁt, carry out these operations in re-verse order.
To obtain a replacement repeater, con-tact a PEUGEOT dealer.
 Disconnect the connector of the cor-responding light.
 Move aside the spring to release the bulb and remove the bulb.
To reﬁt, carry out these operations in re-verse order.
Changing the fog lamps
For replacement of these bulbs, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Changing bulbs
These ﬁve bulbs are changed from out-side the boot:
 remove the light ﬁxing bolt,
 take out the light from the outside,
 disconnect the light connector,
 remove the light seal,
 press the four tabs and remove the bulb holder,
 turn the bulb one quarter of a turn and change it.
To reﬁt, carry out these operations in re-verse order.
