Practical information





Towing the vehicle


Access to the tools

The towing eye is installed in the boot under
the floor.
To gain access to it: )open the boot, )lift the floor and remove it,
)remove the towing eye from the holder.
General recommendations
Obser ve the legislation in force in your country. Ensure that the weight of the towing vehicle is higher than that of the towed vehicle. The person at the wheel of the towed vehicle must have a valid driving licence.When towing a vehicle with all four wheels on the ground, always use an approved towingbar; rope and straps are prohibited. When towing a vehicle with the engine off, there is no longer any power assistance for braking or steering.
In the following cases, you must always call on a professional recovery service: - vehicle broken down on a motor way or fast road, - 4 wheel drive vehicle, - when it is not possible to put the gearbox into neutral, unlock the steering, or release theparking brake, - towing with only two wheels on the ground, - where there is no approved towing bar available...

)On the front bumper, unclip the cover by inserting the flat end of the towing eye in
the bottom of the cover.)Screw the towing eye in fully. )Install the towing bar.

Towing a trailer
We recommend the use of genuinePEUGEOT towbars and their harnessesthat have been tested and approved from the design stage of your vehicle, and that the fitting of the towbar is entrusted to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.If the towbar is not fitted by a PEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative that it is fitted in accordance with the vehiclemanufacturer's instructions.

Driving with a trailer places greater demands on the towing vehicle and the driver must take par ticular care.

Driving advice
Distribution of loads
)Distribute the load in the trailer so that theheaviest items are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above
1 000 metres, the maximum towed load must
be reduced by 10
% for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Side wind
)Take into account the increased sensitivity
to side wind.

Cooling

To w i ng a trailer on a slope increases the
temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electricall
y controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.)
To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towed load on a long incline
depends on the gradient and the ambient
tem
perature.
In all cases, keep a check on the coolant
temperature.
)If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come on, stop the vehicle and switch off
the engine as soon as possible.



Braking

To w i ng a trailer increases the braking distance.
To avoid overheating of the brakes on a longmountain type of descent, the use of engine braking is recommended.

Tyres
)Check the tyre pressures of the towingvehicle and of the trailer, obser ving the recommended pressures.



Lighting
)Check the electrical lighting and signalling on the trailer.


The rear parking sensors will be deactivated automatically if a genuine PEUGEOT towbar is used.

Fitting roof bars


Maximum authorised weight on the roof rack, for a loading height not exceeding 40 cm (with the exception of bicycle carriers): 65
kg.
If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt thespeed of the vehicle to the profile of the road to avoid damaging the roof barsand the fixings on the roof.
Be sure to refer to national legislation in order to comply with the regulations for transporting objects which are longer than the vehicle.
When fittin
g transverse roof bars, take care to position them correctly on the retaining pins
located in the door aper tures.
Use accessories recommended by PEUGEOT obser ving the
manufacturer's recommendations and fitting instructions so as to avoid the risk of damaging the body (deformation, scratches, ...).

Advice on care and maintenance
Recommendations on the care and maintenance your vehicle are given in the ser vicing booklet.
Matt paint


We recommend the use of a high pressurejet wash, or at least a water hose with a high
output.
We recommend that the vehicle be rinsed using
de-ionised water.
Use only a microfibre cloth to dry the vehicle.
It must be clean and used without heavy pressure.
Lightly wipe off any fuel stains present on the
bodywork using a soft cloth, then leave to dry.
From the range of cleaning and maintenanceproducts in the "TECHNATURE" range
recommended and approved by PEUGEOT,
use only the insect remover and car shampoo,
which are the only products to be used on the
bodywork.
The insect remover can also be used to removeminor marks (for example: finger marks...).
Always have paint repairs done by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
I
f you vehicle is finished with a clear matt
lacquer, please obser ve the followingrecommendations to avoid damaging thepaintwork by the use of an inappropriate
cleaning procedures.
These recommendations are also valid for alloy road wheels finished with clear matt lacquer.
Never clean the vehicle without water. Never wash your vehicle in an automatic roller brush car wash.Never polish the vehicle body, nor the alloy wheels. Doing this will make the paintwork shiny.Do not use paint cleaners, abrasive products or paint polishing or preserving products (such as wax, for example) onthe paintwork. These products are only suitable for bright finishes. Application of these products on vehicles with amatt finish will seriously damage thepaint sur face of the vehicle, giving rise to irreversible shiny or stained areas.Never use a high pressure jet wash with
a lance fitted with a brush, this may scratch the paintwork. Never select a wash programme that finishes with a hot wax cycle.

The fitting of electrical equipment or accessories which are not
recommended by PEUGEOT may resultin a failure of your vehicle's electronicsystem and excessive electricalconsumption.
Please note this precaution. You are advised to contact a PEUGEOTrepresentative to be shown the range of recommended equipment and accessories.


Installation of radio communication transmitters

Before installing any after-market radiocommunication transmitter, you can contact a PEUGEOT dealer for thespecification of transmitters which can be fitted (frequency, maximum power, aerial position, specific installation requirements), in line with the Vehicle Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2004/104/EC).


Depending on the legislation in forcein the country, it may be compulsory to have a high visibility safety vest, warning triangle and spare bulbs andfuses available in the vehicle.

Bonnet
)Open the left hand front door.


Before doing anything under the bonnet,switch off the Stop & Start system toavoid any risk of injury resulting from anautomatic change to START mode.


Closing
)Take the stay out of its suppor t slot. )Clip the stay back into its housing. )Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel. )Pull on the bonnet to check that it has
latched correctly.
)Unclip the stay from its housing and place it in the suppor t slot to hold the bonnet open.

Do not open the bonnet under verywindy conditions.When the engine is hot, handle the exterior safety catch and the stay with care (risk of burns).To avoid damaging electrical units,it is strictly forbidden
to use a highpressure jet wash under the bonnet.


Opening
)
Lift the safety catch and raise the bonnet.


)Pull the release lever, located at the bottom
of the door aper ture, towards you.
