IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system
a few moments after the ignition has
been switched off and therefore pre-
vents starting of the vehicle by any-
one who does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
is recognised and starting is possi-
ble.
If the system does not function
correctly, the service warning light
comes on, accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on the mul-
tifunction display.
In this case, your vehicle will not
start. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
A heavy object attached to the key
(key ring, ...), weighing down on the
shaft of the key in the switch, may
cause a malfunction.
Battery ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
T h e i n f o r m a t i o n " b a t t e r y l a t " i s g i v e n
by displaying of the service warning
light, accompanied by an audible sig-
nal and a message on the multifunc-
tion display.
To replace the battery, unclip the cas-
ing using a coin at the notch.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reprogramme the remote control.
Key in ignition
A buzzer sounds on opening the driv-
er’s door, if the key has been left in
the ignition.
control battery or in the event of a re-
mote control malfunction, the remote
control must be reinitialised.
Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
Press the remote control locking
button immediately for a few sec-
onds.
Switch off the ignition and remove
the remote control key from the
ignition lock.
The remote control is now working
again.

driver’s door to lock the vehicle.

approximately two seconds.
When the vehicle is locked,
if unlocking is activated inad-
vertently without a door being
opened within 30 seconds,
the vehicle will lock automatically.
The folding and unfolding of the ex-
terior mirrors can be deactivated by
a PEUGEOT dealer.
To locate your vehicle, if
you have locked it, in a
car park:
press button B , the courtesy lights
come on and the direction indica-
t o r s l a s h f o r a f e w s e c o n d s .

This prevents either of the rear doors
being opened from inside.
Turn the switch on each rear door
a quarter of a turn using the igni-
tion key.

Simultaneous locking or
unlocking of the tailgate and the
doors
The tailgate is locked or unlocked
by the remote control or the driver’s
door lock.
To open, pull handle A and lift the
tailgate.
Note: the tailgate locks automatically
when the vehicle is being driven at
6 mph (10 km/h), even if the auto-
matic central locking is deactivated.
It unlocks when one of the doors is
opened or when the central lock-
ing button is pressed (speed below
6 mph (10 km/h)). TAILGATE
Saloon This enables the tailgate to be un-
locked in the event of a central locking
fault.
Fold back the rear seats to gain
access to the lock from inside the
boot.
Insert a small screwdriver into
hole B of the lock to unlock the
tailgate.
Estate
"Tailgate open" warning
If the tailgate is not properly closed:
- with the engine running , you
are warned by a diagram and a
message on the multifunction dis-
play for a few seconds,
- when the vehicle is moving
(speed above 6 mph (10 km/h)),
the service warning light comes
on. It is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal, a diagram and a mes-
sage on the multi-function display
for a few seconds.

Remove the cap and hang it on
the hook located on the inside of

W h e n y o u i l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t c o n -
tinue after the third cut-off of the
pump. This could cause your vehicle
to malfunction.
The capacity of the tank is approx-
imately 60 litres.

a n d c l o s e t h e f u e l i l l e r l a p .
Low fuel level
When the minimum
fuel level in the tank is
reached, this warning
light comes on on the
instrument panel.
You can still drive approximately
30 miles (50 km). Operating fault
With the ignition on, if the fuel gauge
needle remains in or returns to the
rest position (below zero), this in-
dicates a malfunction of the fuel
gauge.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. FILLING WITH FUEL 1.6 litre 16V BioFlex engine
Your BioFlex vehicle is an adapt-
able vehicle. It has been designed to
run equally well on unleaded petrol
(RON 95 or RON 98) or ethanol (in
Europe, this is a mixture containing
85 % ethanol and 15 % unleaded
petrol, referred to as E85).
So, irrespective of the quantity of fuel
remaining in your tank and regard-
less of the type of fuel (unleaded
petrol, E85 or a mixture of the two),
y o u c a n i l l y o u r t a n k a t a n y t i m e w i t h
unleaded petrol (RON 95 or RON 98)
or ethanol E85.
This vehicle will run on unleaded
petrol only without experiencing any
problems.
In wintry conditions, starting
the engine from cold may
s o m e t i m e s p r o v e d i f i c u l t .
During these very cold peri-
ods, it is advisable to favour unleaded
petrol to guarantee optimum starting
conditions.

A u t o m a t i c s w i t c h i n g o n o f t h e
lights
Side lights and dipped beam
headlamps switch on automatically if
the light is poor, or during operation of
the windscreen wipers. They switch
off as soon as the light becomes
bright enough or the windscreen
wipers stop.
Note: in foggy weather or in snow,
the brightness sensor can detect
s u f i c i e n t l i g h t . A s a c o n s e q u e n c e , t h e
lights will not come on automatically.
Deactivation
Turn ring A to a position other
than "AUTO" . Switching off is
accompanied by a message on
the multifunction display.
I f t h e b r i g h t n e s s s e n s o r d o e s n o t
f u n c t i o n c o r r e c t l y , the lights come
on accompanied by the service
warning light, an audible signal and
a message on the multifunction
display.

lighting
W h e n t h e a u t o m a t i c s w i t c h i n g o n
o f t h e l i g h t s f u n c t i o n i s d e a c t i v a t e d ,
the side lights and dipped headlamps
remain on for the duration selected
for the automatic "follow-me-home"
lighting.
I f t h e v e h i c l e i s n o t i t t e d w i t h t h e
a u t o m a t i c s w i t c h i n g o n o f t h e l i g h t s
f u n c t i o n , when you leave your vehicle,
the side lights and dipped headlamps
remain on for thirty seconds.

Note: if you forget to cancel the
direction indicator, the volume of the
audible signal will increase, if you
are driving at a speed greater than
50 mph (80 km/h).

lighting
With the ignition off, when you leave
your vehicle with the automatic
s w i t c h i n g o n o f t h e l i g h t s f u n c t i o n
activated , the side lights and dipped
headlamps remain on for the selected
duration. Activation:
switch off the engine,
" l a s h " t h e h e a d l a m p s ,
get out of the vehicle and lock it.
Deactivation:
" l a s h " t h e h e a d l a m p s a g a i n ,
get out of the vehicle and lock it.
To deactivate or activate this
function, go to the multifunction
d i s p l a y c o n i g u r a t i o n m e n u .
The duration of the timed
period must also be set (15,
30, 60 seconds), via the multifunction
d i s p l a y c o n i g u r a t i o n m e n u , e x c e p t i n
the case of the monochrome screen
A for which it is pre-set.
C a n c e l l i n g :
" l a s h " t h e h e a d l a m p s ,
get out of the vehicle and lock it. Activation
Turn ring A to the "AUTO"
position. The automatic lighting
is accompanied by a message on
the multifunction display.
Do not cover the brightness
sensor, coupled with the rain
sensor, located in the centre
of the windscreen, behind
the interior mirror. It is used for the
automatic switching on of the lights.
