PEUGEOT SERVICING The maintenance cycle of your 307 is based on level A(including the replacement of the engine oil, the oil filter and a set
of checks) and level Cservices [ level Aservice + workshop operations carried out every 40,000 miles (60 000 km)] in
accordance with the tables on the following pages. So that driving conditions and your style of driving may be taken into account, your 307 is fitted with a service
indicator which modulates the intervals for level A service:
¥ every 20,000 miles (30 000 km) maximum or 2 years for petrol engines,
¥ every 12,000 miles (20 000 km) maximum or 2 years for direct injection diesel engines.
The frequency of level Aservices specific to your vehicle will be determined by three parameters :
¥ the number of engine revolutions,
¥ the engine oil temperature,
¥ prolonged periods when the vehicle is not in use. Depending on these three elements, the service indicatorwill suggest a service interval which is more or less the same as
the initial programme. Depending on the conditions of use, one or more level Aservices may be carried out between two
level C services.
Depending on the mileage recorded, your dealer may offer to carry out the level Cservice to avoid the visits being too close
together.

The extension of the service intervals means that the engine oil must be checked regularly: topping up of the oil between two oil changes is normal. It is for this reason, and for your complete peace of mind, that your Peugeot dealer will carry out a levels check and top-up midway between each routine service, at the time or distance intervals specified. This will be undertaken free of charge, provided that the maintenance of your vehicle has been carried out within the PEUGEOT network.
At the same time, your PEUGEOT dealer will offer you a PEUGEOT safety check, for a nominal fee.
A PEUGEOT professional will carry out a quick check, and will top up the levels if necessary (oil up to 1 litre, coolant and screen wash).
The date of the intermediate visit is not shown by the service indicator. It is to be carried out between two services.
If the oil level is too low, there is a risk of significant damage to the engine: check the engine oil level at least every 1,500 miles (2 500 km). The extended service intervals have been made possible by developments to our vehicles and to the lubricants:
THUS IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ONLY USE ENGINE LUBRICANTS THAT ARE APPROVED AND RECOMMENDED
BY THE MANUFACTURER (see pages on "Lubricants").

SERVICE INDICATOR Located on the instrument panel with the total distance recorder (total andtrip distances), this programmes ser-vice intervals depending on the useof the vehicle. Operation
A few moments after the ignition has been switched on, the spanner sho-wing the service symbols lights up;the display for the total distancerecorder tells you (in round figures)the distance remaining before yournext service. Example: 4 800 miles remain before
the next service is due. When the ignition is switched on and for a fewseconds, the display shows: A few seconds after switching on theignition, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and thedisplay shows the total and trip dis-tances. The distance remaining before the next service is less than 1000miles
A few seconds after switching on the ignition, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and the
spanner remains lit. This indicatesthat a service should be carried out
shortly. The service is overdue Each time the ignition is switched on and for a few seconds, the symboland the excess distance flash. Note:
with the engine running the
symbol flashes until the service has been carried out.
