PEUGEOT SERVICING The maintenance cycle of your 307 is based on level A(including the replacement of the engine oil, the oil filter and a set
of checks) and level Cservices [ level Aservice + workshop operations carried out every 40,000 miles (60 000 km)] in
accordance with the tables on the following pages. So that driving conditions and your style of driving may be taken into account, your 307 is fitted with a service
indicator which modulates the intervals for level A service:
¥ every 20,000 miles (30 000 km) maximum or 2 years for petrol engines,
¥ every 12,000 miles (20 000 km) maximum or 2 years for direct injection diesel engines.
The frequency of level Aservices specific to your vehicle will be determined by three parameters :
¥ the number of engine revolutions,
¥ the engine oil temperature,
¥ prolonged periods when the vehicle is not in use. Depending on these three elements, the service indicatorwill suggest a service interval which is more or less the same as
the initial programme. Depending on the conditions of use, one or more level Aservices may be carried out between two
level C services.
Depending on the mileage recorded, your dealer may offer to carry out the level Cservice to avoid the visits being too close
together.

THE SERVICE LEVELS Each vehicle has its own servicing cycle, based upon the engine type.
This cycle consists of alternating 2 types of service, A and C, intermediate visits and a few additional operations specific to your vehicle; these correspond to key stages in the life of your 307. At your first and each subsequent service, your dealer will advise you of the type and content of the next service due.

4. Air flow adjustmentTurn the control from posi- tion 1to position 4to obtain
an air flow sufficient toensure your comfort.
5. Air intake Pressing button 5permits
recirculation of the interior
air. Recirculation, indicatedby illumination of the indica-
tor light, prevents exterior odoursand smoke from entering the pas-senger compartment. Used simultaneously with the air conditioning, recirculation enablesheating and cooling performance tobe improved. Used in a humid climate, recircula- tion may result in misting of the win-dows. As soon as possible, place button 5
in the outside air position, to prevent
deterioration of the air quality. The
indicator light switches off.3. Air distribution adjustment
Windscreen and side win- dows (demisting-de-icing).
To quickly demist or de-ice the wind-screen and side windows:
Ð Place the temperature and air flow controls to maximum,
Ð Close the centre and side vents.
Ð Place air intake control 5in the
"Outside Air" position (button 5
released, indicator light off),
Ð Start the air conditioning by pres- sing the AC button.
Windscreen, side windows and footwells.
Footwells.
Centre and side vents. Important precaution Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice amonth, to keep it in perfect working
order. If the system does not produce cold
air, do not activate it and contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
6. Rear screen demisting
With the engine running, pressing the button oncedemists the rear screen andthe mirrors*.
This switches off automati-
cally after approximately twelve minutes. Pressing again activatesdemisting for a further twelveminutes. It is possible to stop demisting by pressing the button again before theend of the twelve minutes. Note: it is quite normal that the
condensation created by the air conditioning results in a flow of water
under the vehicle when it is stationary.

''Isofix''mountings
Available on the two side rear seats, and as an accessory on the frontpassenger seat*, the Isofix moun-tings allow for fitting of aspecial
child seat , approved by UTAC for
PEUGEOT vehicles and sold by
PEUGEOT dealers. The locks incorporated in the child seat fit onto the Isofix mountings andensure safe, reliable and fast assem-
bly. In the front
, the child seat must be
fitted:
- either in the "rear facing" position for children weighing between 3
and 11 kg front seat as far for-
ward as possible so that the body
of the child seat is in contact withor as close as possible to the ins-
trument panel. This position thuslimits movement of the child seat inthe event of an accident.
- or exceptionally the child seat may be fitted in the "forwards facing"position if the rear seats are alrea-dy occupied by other children or ifthe rear seats cannot be used (notpresent, folded). In this case, usethe Isofix mountings, the restrai-ning cushion and the seat belt andadjust the front passenger seat tothe "mid-travel" position.
In both cases it is imperative todisarm the passenger air bag. In the rear , the child seat may be fit-
ted in the "rear facing" or "forwards facing" position. In this case thefront seat is in the intermediatelongitudinal position, seat backupright. The combined use of the Isofix mountings, the restraining cushionand the seat belt is compulsory for aseat fitted "facing forward".

is then compulsory. Follow the instructions for fitting the child seat given in the instruc-tion booklet. * During 2001.

CHILD SEATS Although one of PEUGEOT's main criteria when designing your vehicle, the safety of your children also depends on you.
For optimum safety, please follow the following precautions:
- All children under the age of 10 are required to travel in approved restraining equipment*, suited to their weight in a seatfitted with a seat belt.
- front passenger seat*: children under the age of 10 must not travel in the "forwards facing" position, unless the rear seats are already occupied by other children or the rear seats cannot be used (not present, folded). In this case, adjust the front
passenger seat to the "mid-travel" position. The "rear facing" position is authorised.
After carrying out numerous tests, PEUGEOT recommends the following systems: Up to 18 months (up to 29 lbs. or 13 kg) "Ršmer Babysure", is installed with its back to the engine and secured with a three-point seat belt, on either the front or rear seat. In the front, the passenger seat must be adjusted to the "mid-travel" position.
From 9 months to 3 or 4 years (20 to 40 lbs. or 9 to 18 kg) "Ršmer Prince" is fitted in the rear with a three-point seat belt. For the safety of your children, the seat and the restraining cushion must never be separated.
From 3 to 6 years (33 to 56 lbs or 15 to 25 kg) "Ršmer Vario": is fitted in the rear with a two or three point seat belt.
