Voice commands The voice commands make it possible to use pre-recorded words or phrases to control a certain number of functions of the
RT3 audio/telephone. Activation of the voice commands Press the button on the end of the lights stalk to activate this function. Example: to recall the radio station stored on button 3, the key words are: "Radio" "Memory" "3" .
To use these key words, you must say the word "Radio", wait for the audible confirmation signal, then say the word
"Memory" , wait for the audible confirmation signal, then end with the word "3", wait for the audible confirmation signal which
will carry out the action requested. Notes: Ð between two key words, a screen indicates the time remaining and the key word recognised,
Ð in the absence of any voice commands, this function will be switched off after approximately five seconds,Ð if a command is not understood, the system transmits "Pardon"and displays "Word not recognised" on the screen.
Saying the phrase "Help"or "What can I say" displays all of the commands available on the screen.

''Directory'' function to
access the file in which the address you are looking for is archived. Select a description by scrolling down the list by means of the dial,then confirm by pressing the dial.The directory file is then displayed. Select the "OK"function, then press
the dial to access the guidance acti- vation function. Follow the directions given by the system.

The menu
''Guidance options''
provides access to the following functions:
Ð changing of the route calculation criteria,
Ð voice synthesis adjustment of gui- dance messages,
Ð description of the information rela- ting to the navigation CD-Rom,
Ð management of the addresses stored in the directory.
Guidance optionsThe last criterion used is displayed. Select a criterion from the list, then validate by pressing the dial. When the criterion of your choice has been selected, select the
"OK"
function then confirm by pressing thedial. Adjusting the voice synthesiser Select the type of voice "male" or
"female" , after inserting the configu-
ration CD-Rom. Adjust the volume of the voice syn- thesis by turning the dial, then vali-date by pressing the dial. Note: the volume can also be adjust-
ed during a message, using the audio/telephone button or the steer-ing wheel control. Management of the directory This function enables you to rename
an address stored in the directory. Select the description corresponding to the stored address to be changed. Select the
"Rename" function, then
confirm by pressing the dial. Select the "OK" function, then con-
firm by pressing the dial to record the changes made. Stopping/Resuming guidance
¥ "Stop guidance" During guidance, select this function then validate.
¥ "Resume guidance" In the absence of guidance, select this function then validate to activateguidance to the last destination pro-grammed. Note: after re-starting the engine, a
screen appears enabling you to resume guidance activated before
the ignition was switched off.

5. Air distribution
Successive presses of this button allow the air flow tobe directed alternately to:
Ð the windscreen (demisting or de-icing),
Ð the windscreen and the footwells,
Ð the footwells,
Ð the central and side vents and the footwells,
Ð the central and side vents.
7. Air intake
Press this button to recycle
the interior air. Recirculation,
shown on the display, pre-ventsthe entry of unpleasant
odours and fumes from the outside.
Avoid prolonged recirculation of the
interior air. To do this, press again toreturn the system to automatic pro-cessing of the air intake. Note: To prevent condensation on
the inside of the vehicle in cold or
wet weather, you are advised toavoid using this mode.
4. Air conditioning
Press this button to stop
cooling of the air. The"ECO"symbol lights up.
Press again to return to
automatic operation of the air condi-tioning. The "A/C"symbol is dis-
played. 8. Switching the system off
The
OFF button enables the
entire system to be switched off.
Temperature-related com-fort is no longer guaranteed
but a minimal flow of air is main-tained to prevent misting and to
renew the air. Pressing the OFF, AUTO or "visibility"
button again reactivates the system with the values set before it was
switched off.
Note: if you wish to cut off the flow of air
completely, press the air intake button 7.
9. De-icing the rear window and
the mirrors
Press this button to de-icethe rear screen and the mir-
rors. The de-icing system
switches off automatically.
It is possible to stop the de-icing
before it switches off automaticallyby pressing the button again. Note: this function is disarmed when
the roof is stored in the boot. Important precaution Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice amonth, to keep it in perfect working
order. If the system does not produce cold
air, do not use it and contact your
PEUGEOT dealer.
Manual operation
If you wish you can make a different
choice from the one offered by the
system, by changing a setting. Theother functions will still be managed
automatically. Press the
AUTObut-
ton to return to completely automaticoperation.
6. Air flowThe air flow may beincreased or reducedby pressing the buttons+or Ðrespectively.
Notes The condensation created by the air conditioning causes a normal flow ofwater under the vehicle when sta-
tionary.
To prevent condensation on the inside of the vehicle in cold or wet
weather, you are advised to avoidusing the "ECO"mode.

THE KEYS
You have two identical keys. They allow you to switch on the ignitionand operate the passenger air bagdisarming switch and the boot open-ing button disarming switch as wellas to
independently operate the
lock on the driver's door, the fuel fillercap and the glove box. Central locking/Unlocking
From the driver's door, the keys allow you to:
Ð lock the doors and boot simultane- ously, as well as fold back the exterior mirrors,
Ð unlock the driver's door. Opening this door unlocks the passenger
door.
The boot can only be unlocked bypressing the locking/unlocking but-ton from inside the vehicle, with thekey in the switch (refer to the corre-sponding section). The remote control This permits remote locking, dead- locking and unlocking of the vehicle,locating of the vehicle, folding of theexterior mirrors and partial openingof the boot. Locking Press button
Ato lock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.
Vehicles fitted with deadlocking
Warning: deadlocking renders the
internal and external door locking controls inoperative. Pressing button Adeadlocks the
vehicle. This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds. A second press
on button Awithin
five seconds of deadlocking changesthis to normal locking. This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds. Unlocking Press button Bto unlock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators. Note: if the vehicle is locked and
unlocking is activated inadvertently, unless one of the doors or the boot isopened within 30 seconds, the vehi-
cle will lock automatically. Partial opening of the boot Press and hold button Bto partially
open the boot, in addition to unlock- ing the vehicle. Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have locked it, in a car park: press button A, the courtesy
lights come on and the direction indicators flash for a few sec-onds.

THE ALARM This provides two types of protec- tion: Ð
exterior protection: it sounds if a
door, the boot or the bonnet is opened.
Ð interior protection: it sounds if
the volume inside the passengercompartment changes (breaking ofa window or a movement insidethe vehicle).
Note: the interior protection alarm
does not function if the vehicle's roofis open (cabriolet position). Setting the alarm Switch off the ignition and get out of the vehicle.
Set the alarm by locking or dead-locking using the remote control(button Aindicator light flashes
once per second).
Note: if you wish to lock your vehicle
without setting the alarm, use thedoor lock. When the alarm is triggered, thesiren sounds and the direction indi-cator lights flash for thirty seconds. After triggering, the alarm remains set.
Warning:
if the alarm has been trig-
gered ten times in succession, on the eleventh time it becomes inac-tive. Note: if button Aindicator light flash-
es rapidly, the alarm has been trig- gered while you were away fromyour vehicle. Disarming Unlock the vehicle with the remote control key (button Aindicator light
goes out). Note: if the alarm has been triggered
while you were away from your vehi- cle, the rapid flashing of the indicatorlight will stop when you switch on theignition.
To set the alarm with exterior protection only If, while you are away from the vehi- cle, you wish to leave a window par-tially open or a pet inside the vehicle,you should choose exterior protec-
tion only. Switch off the ignition,
In the next ten seconds, press button Auntil the indicator light is
on continuously,
Get out of the vehicle,
Set the alarm by locking or dead-locking using the remote control(button Aindicator light flashes
once a second).
Note: when the alarm is set but the
remote control does not operate: Unlock the door with the key and
open it. The alarm is triggered.
Switch on the ignition. The alarmis disarmed.
Incorrect operation When the ignition is switched on, if button Alights for ten seconds, there
is a fault in the siren connection.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked. Automatic activation* The alarm is activated automatically two minutes after the last closure ofa door or the boot. In order to avoid accidental triggering of the alarm when a door or the bootis opened, it is essential to first pressthe unlocking button on the remotecontrol.

THE DOORS Opening the doors from outside When you place your hand behind the handle, the window automatical-ly lowers by a few millimetres. It risesagain after a few seconds andadjusts automatically on closing toprovide perfect sealing. Notes:
when the vehicle is unlocked,
if you leave your hand on the handle for more than 5 seconds, the windowrises again. Remove your hand toreactivate the system. When washing your vehicle, do not forget to lock it to avoid any risk ofautomatic partial opening of the win-dows. Opening the doors from inside The door opening controls do not function when the vehicle is dead-locked.
Before carrying out any work which requires
cutting off of the bat-
tery, lower the windows
to make it easier to open andclose the doors. In the event of a battery cut-off, it is still possible to open the doors.
However, it is imperative that thedoor is not slammed on closing. It will be necessary to reinitialise the windows. Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

AUTOMATIC SWITCHING ON OF LIGHTS The side lights and dipped beam headlamps switch on automatically ifthe light is poor and when the wind-
screen wipers operate continuously.
They switch off when the light becomes bright enough or the wind-
screen wipers are switched off. This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
To disarm or activate the function:
Ð Place the key in the accessories
position (1st notch),
Ð Press the end of the lights stalk for more than four seconds.
Note: In foggy weather or in snow,
the brightness sensor can detect suf-
ficient light. As a result, the lights will
not come on automatically.
The brightness sensor, coupled
with the rain sensor, is located inthe centre of the windscreen,
behind the interior mirror. It isused for automatic switching onof the lights. Operating check ActivationActivation of this function is accom- panied by an audible signal and themessage
"Automatic lighting
active" on the multifunction display.
Disarming Disarming of the function is accom- panied by an audible signal. Note: the function is temporarily
disarmed when the driver uses the manual lighting controls. If the brightness sensor does not function correctly , the system acti-
vates the function (the lights come
on). The driver is alerted by an audi-ble signal, accompanied by the mes-sage "Auto lighting fault" on the
multifunction display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked.

After the ignition has been switched off, if the stalk was in awipe position, you must reactivatethis function:
Ð move the stalk to any position,
Ð then move it back to the required
position.
Special position of the front windscreen wiper
In the minute following switching off of the ignition, any action on the stalkpositions the wipers in the centre ofthe windscreen. This action enables you to position the wiper blades for winter parking,cleaning or replacement (See sec-tion "Practical information -Changing a wiper blade").
To park the wipers after this has been done, switch on the ignitionand operate the stalk.
Windscreen wash Pull the wipers stalk towards you. The windscreen wash, then the windscreen wipers, operate for afixed period.
WINDSCREEN WIPER STALK
Front windscreen wiper with intermittent wipe 2 Fast wipe (heavy rain).
1 Normal wipe (moderate rain).
I Intermittent wipe.
0 Off.
Single wipe (press downwards).
In the Intermittent position, the wip-
ing speed is in proportion to the vehi-cle speed. Front windscreen wiper with automatic wipe
2 Fast wipe (heavy rain).
1 Normal wipe (moderate rain).
AUTO Automatic wipe.
0 Off.
Single wipe (press downwards).
In the AUTOposition, the wiping
speed is in proportion to the intensityof the rainfall.
