CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
f o r t h e s p a r e w h e e l u s i n g t h e t o o l s p r o -
v i d e d w i t h t h e v e h i c l e .
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o t h e m :
c h a n g e t o t h e " c o u p é " c o n fi g u r a t i o n ,
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its handle on
the boot seal,
u n c l i p a n d r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n -
i n g t h e t o o l s . A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
v e h i c l e . D o n o t u s e t h e m f o r o t h e r
p u r p o s e s .

Fixing the steel spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
t h e w a s h e r s d o n o t c o m e i n t o c o n -
t a c t w i t h t h e s t e e l s p a r e w h e e l . T h e
wheel is secured by the conical
c o n t a c t o f e a c h b o l t .
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
A c c o r d i n g t o c o u n t r y , t h e s p a r e w h e e l
m a y b e s t e e l o r a l l o y .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t , r e f e r t o t h e p a r a -
g r a p h " A c c e s s t o t h e t o o l s " o n t h e p r e v i -
o u s p a g e .
Taking out the wheel
U n s c r e w t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l b o l t .
Raise the spare wheel towards you
f r o m t h e r e a r .
T a k e t h e w h e e l o u t o f t h e b o o t .
Putting the wheel back in place
P u t t h e w h e e l b a c k i n i t s h o u s i n g .
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
c e n t r e o f t h e w h e e l .
Tighten fully until the central bolt
c l i c k s t o r e t a i n t h e w h e e l c o r r e c t l y .
P u t t h e b o x b a c k i n p l a c e i n t h e c e n -
t r e o f t h e w h e e l a n d c l i p i t .
T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s n o t fi t t e d w i t h
a s e n s o r . T h e p u n c t u r e d w h e e l
must be repaired by a PEUGEOT
d e a l e r .

Access to the battery Starting using another battery
C o n n e c t t h e r e d c a b l e t o t h e p o s i -
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e fl a t b a t t e r y A ,
t h e n t o t h e p o s i t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f
t h e s l a v e b a t t e r y B .
Connect one end of the green or
b l a c k c a b l e t o t h e n e g a t i v e t e r m i n a l
( - ) o f t h e s l a v e b a t t e r y B .
Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to the earth point C
o n t h e b r o k e n d o w n v e h i c l e .
Operate the starter, let the engine
r u n .
Wait until the engine returns to idle
a n d d i s c o n n e c t t h e c a b l e s .
T h e b a t t e r y i s l o c a t e d u n d e r t h e b o n n e t .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
open the bonnet using the interior
l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r l e v e r ,
secure the bonnet strut,
r e m o v e t h e p l a s t i c c o v e r t o g a i n
access to the two terminals,
u n c l i p t h e f u s e b o x t o r e m o v e t h e
b a t t e r y , i f n e c e s s a r y .

The towing eye is installed in the boot

T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
c h a n g e t o t h e " c o u p é " c o n fi g u r a t i o n ,
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its handle on
the boot seal,
r e m o v e t h e t o w i n g e y e f r o m t h e
h o l d e r . When towing with all four wheels on
t h e g r o u n d , a l w a y s u s e a t o w b a r .
When towing with only two wheels
o n t h e g r o u n d , a l w a y s u s e p r o f e s -
s i o n a l l i f t i n g e q u i p m e n t .
When towing with the engine off,
there is no longer any braking or
s t e e r i n g a s s i s t a n c e .
P l a c e t h e g e a r l e v e r i n n e u t r a l
(position N on the automatic
g e a r b o x ) .
F a i l u r e t o o b s e r v e t h i s s p e c i a l
condition could result in damage
to certain braking components and
the absence of braking assistance
