Safety
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
Activation
This system is activated automatically each
time the vehicle is started.
It comes into operation in the event of a grip or
trajectory problem.
This is indicated b
y flashing of this
warning lamp in the instrument panel.
Deactivation
In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on softground...), it may be advisable to deactivate
the DSC system, so that the wheels can move
freely and regain grip.
The DSC system offers exceptional safety in normal driving, but this should not encourage the driver to take extra risks or drive at high speed.
The correct operation of the system depends on obser vation of the manufacturer's recommendationsregarding the wheels (tyres and rims),the braking components, the electronic components and the PEUGEOTassembly and operation procedures.
After an impact, have the systemchecked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.
Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a messa
ge in the instrument
panel screen, this indicates a fault
with the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.
Reactivation
The system is reactivated automatically eachtime the ignition is switched back on or from
30 mph (50 km/h). ) Press the "ESP OFF"
button again to
reactivate it manually.

Practical information
Wheel with trim
When refitting the wheel
, refit the trim starting by placing its notch facing the valve and press around its edge withthe palm of your hand.
The spare wheel is located in the boot under
th
e floor.
According to country, the spare wheel may be
steel, alloy or of the "space-saver" type.
To gain access to it, refer to the paragraph"Access to the tools" on the previous page.

Unscrew the yellow central bolt. )
Raise the spare wheel towards you from
the rear. ) Take the wheel out of the boot.

the spare wheel is secured either by a strap
or a central bolt. For the bolt, the procedure is

Practical information
12 V battery
The presence of this label indicatesthe use of a 12 V lead-acid battery withspecial technology and specification,for which the involvement of a PEUGEOT dealer or qualifiedworkshop is required when replacing or disconnecting the battery.
Failure to observe this recommendation may cause premature wear of thebattery.
After refitting the battery, the Stop & Start system will only be active after several hours depending on the climaticconditions and the state of charge of the battery (up to about 8 hours).
The battery is located under the bonnet.
To gain access to it:
)
open the bonnet using the interior releaselever, then the exterior safety catch, )
remove the plastic cover to gain access to
the two terminals, ) unclip the fusebox to remove the battery,
if necessary.

)Raise the locking tab fully.

)Position the open clip 1of the cable on the positive terminal (+) of the battery.
)Press ver tically on the clip 1
to position it correctly against the battery. )Lock the clip by spreading the positioning
lug and then lowering the tab 2.
Do not force the tab as locking will not
be possible if the clip is not positionedcorrectly; star t the procedure again.
