Low coolant level warning light Illumination of this warning light indicates that the coolant level is too
low.
Stop immediately.
W arning: allow the engine to cool before topping up.
The cooling circuit is pressurised.
To avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressu-
re to drop.When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Engine oil pressure warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Illumination of this warning light while the engine is running indicates
that the oil pressure or level is too low.
Stop immediately. If there is a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit, top it up.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS A permanently lit warning light or one that flashes while the engine is
running indicates an operating fault. The illumination of certain warning lights may be accompanied by a bleep and a message on the multi-
function display. Do not ignore this warning: contact your PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Handbrake warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is
switched on.Illumination of this warning light indi-cates that the handbrake is applied
or has not been released correctly.Coolant temperature warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is
switched on.Illumination of this warning light indi-cates an abnormal increase in thecoolant temperature.
Stop immediately.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) warning light If the warning light remains on or comes on above 7 mph (12 km/h), this
indicates an ABS system fault. Nevertheless, the vehicle retains conventional assisted braking.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Traction control (ASR) warning light
If the warning light remains on or comes on while the engine is running
and the vehicle is moving, contact a PEUGEOT dealer. It flashes when the system comes into operation and comes on perma-
nently when the system is disarmed.
Diesel engine pre-heating warning light This comes on when the ignition is switched on. Wait until it goes out before operating the starter.
Engine autodiagnostics warning light This comes on when the ignition is switched on. If it comes on while the engine is running, it indicates:
- an emission control system fault,
or
-a particulate emission filter fault.
If it flashes while the engine is running, this indicates an injection or ignition sys-
tem fault. There is a risk of destruction of the catalytic converter (petrol engineonly).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

Battery charge warning light This comes on when the ignition is switched on.
If it comes on while the engine is run-ning, it may indicate: - faulty operation of the charging cir- cuit,
- slack battery or starter terminals,
-a cut or slack alternator belt,
- an alternator failure.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low brake fluid level warning light Illumination of this warning light while the engine is
running indicates that the handbrakeis applied or has not been released
correctly, or that the brake fluid level
is too low.
Simultaneous illumination of the ABS warning light and the low brake fluidlevel warning light indicates a brakeforce distribution system fault.
Stop immediately.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Water in diesel filter warning light
This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Illumination of this warning light indicates that there is water in the die-
sel filter.
There is a risk of damage to the injection system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

Passenger air bag disarmed warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the warning light comes on when the ignition is switched on and stays on.
In all cases, if the warning light flashes, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low fuel level warning light The warning light comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is swit- ched on.Illumination of this warning light while the engine is running indicates
that the fuel level is low.When the warning comes on, you have at least 8 litres of fuelleft.
Air bag warning light The warning light comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is swit- ched on.Illumination of this warning light while the engine is running indicates:
- a front air bag fault, or- a side air bag fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Front brake pad wear warning light Lighting of this warning light while the engine is running
and the vehicle is moving and whenyou press the brake pedal indicatesextreme wear of the front brakepads.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Electronic immobiliser key warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition
is switched on. Flashing of this warning light, after the ignition has been switched on,
indicates an operating anomaly. If this warning light comes on (per- manently) after the ignition is swit-ched on, check the identification of
the key.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.

Automatic gearbox temperature or fault warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Illumination or flashing of this warning light while the engine is runningand the vehicle is moving indicates an automatic gearbox fault or an
excessive automatic gearbox temperature.
Stop immediately.Allow the engine to run at idle (lever in position Nor P) until the warning light
switches off.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Door open warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Illumination of this warning light indicates that one or more doors are
open or have not been closed correctly.
The warning light switches off when all of the doors are closed correctly.
Coolant temperature gauge When the needle is in zone A, the
temperature is correct. When the needle is in zone B, the
temperature is too high.
Stop immediately.W arning: allow the engine to cool
before topping up.The cooling circuit is pressurised.

Parameter configuration Setup menu The"Setup" menu provides access
to the following general parameters: - "Setup": choice of day/night bright- ness, display colours, voice/textmessage language and distanceunit,
- "Fleet Management": configurationof the automatic vehicle locationSMS messages,
- "Speed Limit Warning": setting,activation and display of exceedingof the permitted speed,
- "Modem": activation/deactivationof the communication between thesystem's modem and the laptop.

Setup The "Day brightness" and "Night
brightness" functions enable you to
set day and night brightness values
independently. The "Colours" function controls dis-
playing on the day or night setting or changes the setting automatically inrelation to the light in the passengercompartment or switching on of thelights. The "Voice language" and "Text lan-
guage" functions enable you to choo-
se the language for voice recognition and SMS messages (Italian, German,English, Spanish, French, Portuguese,Dutch). The "Distance unit" function enables
you to choose the distance unit for the trip computer calculations (km ormiles). Note: to choose the language and
the distance unit, insert the configu- ration CD-Rom. Fleet Management The
"Fleet Management" function
permits locating of the vehicle by means of the automatic transmissionof SMS messages to a controlcentre.
To have the SMS messages sent,
you must: - activate the "Sending Mode " func- tion,
- select a type of interval in the"Event Mode" function,
- set the duration of the interval inthe "Data frequency send" func-tion,
- enter the registration number in the
"Vehicle ID" function,
- enter the telephone number of the
control centre in the "TelephoneNumber" function,
- insert the SIM card.

TELEPHONE MODE This function is provided by a dual band GSM telephone (900 and 1800 MHz) incorporated in the audio/telephone/GPS. It is a "hands free" telephone. This function is provided by a microphone located next to the front courtesy light, the spea-
kers and a steering wheel control which permits access to most of the functions (the buttons on the audio/telephone/GPS control panel provide access to all of the functions). Displaying of the main "mobile telephone"type functions as well as consultation of the directories is via the multifunction
display.This function is active, irrespective of the position of the key.
Note: with the key in the accessories position (1 st
notch) or with the ignition on (2 nd
notch), this function will be cut off after
thirty minutes (Ecomony mode active).If a communication is under way at this time, it may be completed. Using the menus Press button Eto display the main menuand gain access to the main "Telephone functions", then to the various sub-
menus to reach the one required.
This menu enables you to gain access to the following functions:- Other menus: enables access to the second page of the menu.
- Frequent nos: enables listing of the 9 telephone numbers most frequently
used.
- Directory: enables listing of the names and telephone numbers recorded in your
directory.
- Last received: enables listing of the last 10 telephone numbers received.
- Last called: enables listing of the last 10 telephone numbers called.
- Messages: enables access to the text messages (SMS) menu.

4. Air distribution adjustment
Windscreen and side win- dows (demisting - de-icing).
To quickly de-ice or demist the wind-
screen and side windows:
- set the temperature and air flowcontrols to maximum,
- close the centre vents,
- place the exterior air intake control1 in the "Outside air intake" posi-
tion,
- switch on the air conditioning bypressing button 6.
Windscreen, side windowsand footwells. Footwells. Footwells and central vents. Centre and side vents. Demisting the rear hinged door windows and the mirrors With the engine running, pressing the button once demists the rear hin-ged door windows and the mirrors.
This switches off automatically after a few minutes. It is possible to stop demisting by pressing the button. Pressing the button again resumes demisting. Important precaution Operate the air conditioning system for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice amonth, to keep it in perfect working
order. If the system does not produce cold
air, do not use it and contact a
PEUGEOT dealer. Note:
to optimise the operation of
the air conditioning, leave the vents open. 5. Additional heating system rear air blower control
This is linked with the airflow adjustment 2.
6. Air conditioning control
The air conditioning is designed to
operate in all seasons. In summer, itenables the temperature to be lowe-
red and in winter, above 0 ¡C, it
increases the effectiveness of thedemisting.
Press the switch, the indi-cator light comes on.
The air conditioning does notoperate while the air flow adjust-ment control is in the minimumposition. Note: it is quite normal that the
condensation created by the air conditioning results in a flow ofwater under the vehicle when it is
stationary.

PROGRAMMABLE HEATING
(WEBASTO)* The programmable heating is provided to operate with the engine
off. It permits heating of the passen-ger compartment, de-icing of thewindows and pre-heating of thecoolant circuit to provide an optimumoperating temperature when theengine is switched on.

comes on and the time is displayed for approximately ten seconds. SETTING THE CLOCK Press button 4. The screen and the
setting warning light 8come on.
Within ten seconds, press one of the buttons 5until the correct time is

back,
Note: continuous pressing of buttons
