In the case of a steep slope, the door
may be driven by its own weight and
as a consequence may open or close
violently.
Take care not to leave the vehicle on a
steep slope with the door(s) open without
supervision. If this advice is not followed,
injuries or damage may occur if a person
or an object is trapped or caught.
Rear roof flap
This roof flap at the rear is compatible only with
side-hinged doors.
To open the rear roof flap:

ift the black paddle of the toggle.

elax the toggle by pressing on the rear
roof flap (downwards) then release the
hook.

ift the rear roof flap. Never drive without the props in place.
Support bar
A support bar is available for transporting long
loads, after opening the rear roof flap.
Never attach any load to the rear roof flap.
The rear bumper has been reinforced to
serve as a step when entering the vehicle.

old back the support bar by lifting the lever.

upport the long loads to be transported,
lift them and reposition the support bar with
one hand. Never drive without the support bar in
place.
The rear doors will only lock when the
support bar is installed.
When the rear roof flap is open, take care
when driving where height is restricted.
Never rest loads directly on the rear doors.
Comply with the usual indications for
warning other drivers.
Reser ve the use of the rear roof flap for
short journeys.
To close the rear roof flap:

hile pressing on the rear roof flap
(downwards), take the two spring rings and
then place the hook in its housing.

ower the black paddle to lock the rear roof
flap.
Locking the rear roof flap ensures tight contact
with the seal and guarantees sealing with no
noise.

ove past the point of resistance to lock the
rear roof flap with the support props. F

nsure that it is secured correctly by
pressing the handle downwards past the
point of resistance and secure the loads
f i r m l y.
The side supports can be used as hooking
points.

Never use the table while the vehicle is
moving.
Any object on the table will become a
dangerous projectile that could cause
injury in the event of sudden braking or
collision.
Your vehicle may also be fitted with a pivoting
table.

o straighten the backrest, stow the table
then guide it until it locks.
During operations, take care not to jam the
tongue under the seat cushion.
Each time you lock the seat in the sitting
position, make sure that passengers have
access to the seat belt end pieces and the
associated straps.
Side seat
Retractable position
This position allows transporting long cargo
inside the vehicle with the doors closed.
When retracted, the maximum weight on the
backrest is 50
kg.
To replace the seat, lift the backrest until the
seat locks into position on the floor.
Storage compartment under seat
F Lift the central seat to access the storage compartment. This space can be secured
by fitting a padlock (not supplied). F
P ull the tongue on the top edge of the seat
near the head restraint to tilt and guide the
assembly.
It is placed in the floor of the front seat and thus
forms a continuous flat floor with the loading
space.

On the floor, behind the front seats, a
vertical partition protects the driver and front
passengers against the risk of load movement.
Steel or glass partitions separate the loading
area from the cab.When washing your vehicle, never clean
the inside directly using a water jet.
Stowing ringsUse the stowing rings on the rear floor to
secure your loads.
As a safety precaution in case of sharp braking,
you are advised to place heavy objects as far
for wards towards the cab as possible.
It is recommended that the load be secured
firmly using the stowing rings on the floor.
When washing your vehicle, never clean
the inside directly using a water jet.
Recommendations on
loading
The weight of the load must comply with
the Gross Train Weight (GTW).
For more information on Engine
technical data and towed loads , refer to
the corresponding section.
If you are using a carrying system (roof
bars/roof rack), comply with the maximum
loads associated with this system.

rack , refer to the corresponding section.
Make sure that the size, shape and
volume of the loads carried are compatible
with the highway code and safety
regulations and do not impair the driver’s
field of vision.

Post Collision Safety Brake
(APCB)
With automatic post-collision braking, in the
event of an accident, the ESC system triggers
an automatic braking action in order to reduce
the risk of cumulative collisions by rebound, for
example, if the driver does not react.
Automatic braking inter venes after a frontal,
lateral or rear impact.
Conditions for operation
The impact has resulted in the deployment
of the airbags or seat belt pyrotechnic
pretensioners.
The braking systems and electric functions of
the vehicle must remain operational after the
collision.Automatic braking is accompanied by
illumination of the vehicle's brake lamps.
The system does not inter vene if driver
action is detected:

ccelerator pedal pressed.

B
rake pedal pressed.
The system works within the limits of the
laws of physics.
It is the driver's responsibility to
continuously adapt the vehicle's speed to
the driving and road conditions.
Malfunctions
Braking systems fault
Airbags or pyrotechnic
pretensioning systems fault
Drive carefully.
Go to a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible.
Trailer stability assist (TSA)
When towing, this system reduces the risk of
the vehicle or trailer swaying.
Operation
If the system detects oscillations (snaking) in the
movement of the trailer at speeds between 35 and
100 mph (60 and 160 km/h), it acts on the brakes to
stabilise the trailer and, if necessary, reduces the
engine power to slow down the vehicle.
The correction is signalled by the
flashing of this indicator lamp in the
instrument panel and illumination of
the brake lamps.
Malfunction
Should a fault occur with the system,
this warning lamp comes on in the
instrument panel, accompanied by
the display of a message and an
audible signal.

The system is activated automatically when the
ignition is switched on.
The electronic stability control (ESC) must not have
any faults.
For information on the weights and towed
loads, refer to the "Technical data" section or
the registration certificate for your vehicle.
To ensure complete safety while driving with
a Towbar system , refer to the corresponding
section.
If you continue to tow a trailer, reduce your
speed and drive carefully!
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.

The trailer stability assist system
offers increased safety in normal
driving conditions, provided that the
recommendations on towing a trailer are
obser ved. It must not encourage the driver
to take additional risks, such as towing
a trailer in adverse operating conditions
(overloading, failure to obser ve the trailer
nose weight, worn or under-inflated tyres,
faulty braking system, etc.) or drive at too
high a speed.
In certain cases, the swaying of the trailer
may not be detected by the ESC system,
particularly with a light trailer.
When driving on slippery or poor sur faces,
the system may not be able to prevent
sudden swaying of the trailer.
Advanced Grip Control
Special patented traction control system which
improves driveability on snow, mud and sand.
This system, the operation of which has been
optimised for each situation, allows you to
manoeuvre in most conditions of poor grip
(encountered during passenger vehicle use).Associated with all-season M+S (Mud and
Snow) tyres, this system offers a compromise
between safety, grip and driveability.
The accelerator pedal should be pressed
sufficiently to allow the system to use the power
of the engine. Operation at high engine speeds
is completely normal.
A five-position selector knob allows you to
choose the setting best suited to the driving
conditions encountered.
An indicator lamp associated with each mode
comes on, accompanied by the display of a
message to confirm your choice.
Operating modes
Every time the ignition is switched off, the
system automatically resets to this mode.
Snow
This mode adapts its strategy to
the conditions of grip encountered
for each of the two front wheels on
moving off.
(mode active up to 50
mph (80 km/h))
All terrain (mud, damp grass,
etc.)
This mode, when moving off, allows
considerable spin on the wheel with
the least grip to optimise clearing
of the mud and to regain grip. At
the same time, the wheel with the
most grip is controlled in such a
way as to transmit as much torque
as possible.
When moving, the system optimises wheel spin
to respond to the driver's requirements as fully
as possible.

Standard (ESC)
This mode is calibrated for a low
level of wheel spin, based on the
different levels of grip normally
encountered on the road.

General points relating to
child seats
The regulations on carrying children are
specific to each country. Refer to the
legislation in force in your country.
For maximum safety, please obser ve the
following recommendations:

I
n accordance with European regulations,
all children under the age of 12 or less
than one and a half metres tall must
travel in approved child seats suited to
their weight , on seats fitted with a seat belt
or ISOFIX mountings.
-
S
tatistically, the safest seats in your
vehicle for carr ying children are the rear
seats.
-
A c
hild weighing less than 9 kg must
travel in the rear ward-facing position
both in the front and in the rear.
It is recommended that children travel on
the rear seats of your vehicle:
-
"rearward facing " up to the age of 3,
-
"forward facing " over the age of 3. Ensure that the seat belt is positioned and
tightened correctly.
For child seats with a support leg, ensure
that the latter is in firm and steady contact
with the floor.
In the front: if necessary, adjust the
passenger seat.
At the rear: if necessary, adjust the
relevant front seat.
Remove and stow the head restraint
before installing a child seat with backrest
on a passenger seat. Refit the head
restraint once the child seat has been
removed.
Child seat at the front
When a child seat is installed on the front
passenger seat
, adjust the seat to the highest
position , in the rearmost longitudinal
position , with the backrest straightened .
"Rearward facing"
The front passenger airbag must be
deactivated. Otherwise, the child risks
being seriously injured or killed in case
of airbag deployment.
"Forward facing"
The front passenger airbag must be activated.

always take priority over the display by the
system.
The system cannot, in any circumstances,
replace the need for vigilance on the part
of the driver.
The driver must observe the driving
regulations and must adapt the speed of
the vehicle to suit the weather and traffic
conditions.
It is possible for the system to not display
the speed limit if it does not detect a
speed limit sign within a preset period.
The system is designed to detect signs
that conform to the Vienna Convention on
road signs.
