HORN
Press the centre of the steering wheel.
HANDBRAKE
Applying
Pull the handbrake to immobilise your
vehicle.
Check that the handbrake is applied
fi r m l y b e f o r e l e a v i n g t h e v e h i c l e . Releasing
Pull the handle and press the button to
lower the handbrake. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press this button, the direction
i n d i c a t o r s fl a s h .
They can operate with the ignition off.
The hazard warning lights should only
be used in dangerous situations, when
stopping in an emergency or when
driving in unusual conditions.
When parking on a slope, direct your
wheels towards the pavement and pull
the handbrake.
There is no advantage in engaging
a gear after parking the vehicle,
particularly if the vehicle is loaded.
If the handbrake is still on or has
not been released properly, this is
indicated by this warning light which
comes on on the instrument panel.
Automatic lighting of hazard
warning lights
When braking in an emergency,
depending on the force of deceleration,
the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch off
a u t o m a t i c a l l y t h e fi r s t t i m e y o u
accelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off by
pressing the button on the fascia.

Airbags
Good practice
Sit in a normal upright position.
Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Do not leave anything between the
o c c u p a n t s a n d t h e a i r b a g s ( a c h i l d ,
pet, object...). This could hamper the
operation of the airbags or injure the
occupants.
After an accident or if the vehicle has
been stolen or broken into, have the air
bag systems checked.
All work on the air bag system is strictly
forbidden unless it is carried out by
q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e P E U G E O T
network.
Even if all of the precautions
mentioned are observed, a risk of
injury or of minor burns to the head,
chest or arms when an air bag is
triggered cannot be ruled out. In fact,
t h e b a g i n fl a t e s a l m o s t i n s t a n t l y ( w i t h i n
a f e w m i l l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n
the same time discharging the hot gas
via openings provided for this purpose. Side airbags
Only put recommended covers on the
s e a t s . T h e s e w i l l n o t h i n d e r i n fl a t i o n o f
the side airbags. Consult a PEUGEOT
dealer.
D o n o t fi x o r g l u e a n y t h i n g t o t h e s e a t
backs. This could cause injury to the
chest or arms when the side air bag

body any nearer to the door than

the centre part of the wheel.
Do not allow passengers to place their
feet on the fascia, they risk serious
injury if the air bag is triggered.
Smoke as little as possible as
deployment of the airbags can cause
burns or the risk of injury from a
cigarette or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering
wheel or hit it violently.
Airbags only operate when the
ignition is switched on.
This equipment only operates once.
I f a s e c o n d i m p a c t o c c u r s ( d u r i n g t h e
same or a subsequent accident), the
air bag will not operate.
The triggering of an air bag or airbags
is accompanied by a slight discharge
of harmless smoke and a noise, due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge incorporated in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but
sensitive individuals may experience
some irritation.
The noise of the detonation may result
in a slight loss of hearing for a short
time.
It is imperative that the passenger
air bag is disarmed if a child seat
is installed facing rearwards. Refer
to the "Children on board" section of
chapter 4.

Airbags
Front airbags
The front airbags are incorporated in
the centre of the steering wheel for the
driver and in the fascia for the front
passenger.
Activation
They are deployed simultaneously,
unless the passenger's front air bag
has been disarmed, in the event of a
serious front impact applied to all or
part of the front impact zone A in the
longitudinal centreline of the vehicle
on a horizontal plane directed from the
front towards the rear of the vehicle.
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n
the front occupant of the vehicle and
the fascia to cushion his forward
movement. Disarming
The passenger's front air bag alone
c a n b e d i s a r m e d :
-
With the ignition switched off ,
insert the key into the passenger air
bag disarming switch,
- turn it to the "OFF" position,
- then remove the key keeping the slot in this position.
The air bag warning light on the
instrument panel is lit throughout
the period of disarming.
If the two air bag warning lights
are lit continuously, do not install
a rear-facing child seat. Consult a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Front air bag fault
To ensure the safety of your
child, it is essential to disarm the
passenger air bag when you install
a rear-facing child seat on the front
passenger seat. Otherwise, the child
would risk being killed or seriously
i n j u r e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n fl a t e . Reactivation
In the
"OFF" position, the passenger
air bag will not be triggered in the
event of an impact.
As soon as the child seat is removed,
turn the air bag slot to the "ON"
position to re-activate the air bag
and thus ensure the safety of your
passenger in the event of an impact.
If this warning light comes on,
accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the
display, consult a PEUGEOT
dealer to have the system
checked.

Depending on the country in which
the vehicle is sold, it is compulsory to
have a high visibility jacket, warning
triangle and spare bulbs available in
the vehicle. "Active Fleet Data" telematic
unit
Connected directly to the heart of the
vehicle (multiplexed network: "Full
CAN"), the telematic unit, by means of
a "ready to use" service, permits the
sending in real time of information such
as:
- d i s t a n c e t r a v e l l e d ,
- d i s t a n c e r e m a i n i n g b e f o r e t h e n e x t
service,
- w a r n i n g s a n d f a u l t s ( o i l l e v e l , coolant level, oil temperature,
coolant temperature, etc...).
This enables "Fleet" managers
to optimise the monitoring and
management of their professional
vehicles.

Levels
Cooling system
O n l y u s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
manufacturer.
O t h e r w i s e , y o u r i s k s e r i o u s l y d a m a g i n g
your engine.
When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can
o p e r a t e w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n k e y r e m o v e d
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
c a r r y i n g o u t a n y w o r k .
S l a c k e n t h e c a p b y 1 / 4 o f a t u r n t o
release the pressure to prevent any
r i s k o f s c a l d i n g . W h e n t h e p r e s s u r e
has dropped, remove the cap and top
up the level with coolant.
I f fl u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
c h e c k e d b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r a s
soon as possible. Power steering fluid level
T h e v e h i c l e m u s t b e p a r k e d o n l e v e l
ground with the engine cold. Unscrew
the cap integrated with the gauge and
c h e c k t h e l e v e l w h i c h m u s t b e b e t w e e n
t h e M I N a n d M A X m a r k s .
I n o r d e r t o r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r , y o u
are advised to drive at a speed higher
t h a n 4 0 m p h ( 6 0 k m / h ) f o r a t l e a s t fi v e
minutes as soon as possible, when
t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t ( u n t i l t h e
message disappears and the service
w a r n i n g l i g h t i s s w i t c h e d o f f ) .
During regeneration of the particle
e m i s s i o n fi l t e r , r e l a y n o i s e m a y b e
heard under the fascia.
If the message is still displayed and if
the service warning light remains on,
consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Topping up
T h e l e v e l m u s t b e b e t w e e n t h e M I N
a n d M A X m a r k s o n t h e e x p a n s i o n
b o t t l e . I f m o r e t h a n 1 l i t r e o f fl u i d i s
required to top up the level, have
t h e s y s t e m c h e c k e d b y a P E U G E O T
dealer. Windscreen wash and headlamp
wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you use
products of the PEUGEOT range.
For optimum cleaning and to avoid
f r e e z i n g , t h i s fl u i d m u s t n o t b e t o p p e d
up or replaced with water.
Capacity of the screenwash reservoir:
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 4 . 5 l i t r e s .
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h h e a d l a m p
washers, the capacity of the reservoir
is 7.5 litres.
Diesel additive level
(Diesel with particle
emission filter)
The minimum level of this
additive is indicated by lighting of the
service warning light, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the display.
When this occurs with the engine
running it is due to the start of
s a t u r a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r
( e x c e p t i o n a l l y p r o l o n g e d u r b a n t y p e
driving conditions: low speed, long
t r a f fi c j a m s , . . . ) . Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
w i t h t h e s k i n .
B r a k e fl u i d i s h a r m f u l t o h e a l t h a n d
very corrosive.
D o n o t d i s p o s e o f u s e d o i l , b r a k e fl u i d
or coolant into drains or into the ground
but into the containers dedicated to this
use at PEUGEOT dealer.

Changing a wheel
I t i s a c o m p l e t e s y s t e m c o n s i s t i n g o f

sealant. Using the kit
1. T i c k t h e d e fl a t e d w h e e l o n t h e
s p e e d l i m i t a t i o n s t i c k e r t h e n a f fi x
the sticker to the vehicle's steering
wheel to remind you that a wheel is
i n t e m p o r a r y u s e .
2. C l i p t h e b o t t l e 1 o n t h e c o m p r e s s o r 2 .
3. Connect the bottle 1 to the valve of
t h e t y r e t o b e r e p a i r e d .
4. T a k e c a r e t o u n w i n d t h e
c o m p r e s s o r p i p e b e f o r e c o n n e c t i n g
it to the bottle.
5. C o n n e c t t h e p o w e r l e a d t o o n e o f
the vehicle's 12 V sockets.
6. S w i t c h o n t h e c o m p r e s s o r b y
p r e s s i n g b u t t o n A until the tyre
p r e s s u r e r e a c h e s 2 . 0 b a r s . I f t h i s
p r e s s u r e c a n n o t b e r e a c h e d , t h e
t y r e c a n n o t b e r e p a i r e d .
7. R e m o v e a n d s t o r e t h e c o m p r e s s o r .
8. Drive immediately, for a few miles
( k i l o m e t r e s ) , a t r e d u c e d s p e e d , t o
fi l l t h e p u n c t u r e .
9. A d j u s t t h e p r e s s u r e u s i n g t h e
c o m p r e s s o r i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h t h e
recommendation for the vehicle and
c h e c k t h a t t h e l e a k i s fi l l e d c o r r e c t l y
( n o f u r t h e r l o s s o f p r e s s u r e ) .
10. D r i v e a t r e d u c e d s p e e d ( 5 0 m p h
[ 8 0 k m / h ] ) . T h e t y r e m u s t b e
e x a m i n e d a n d r e p a i r e d b y a
p r o f e s s i o n a l a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e . After use, the bottle can be stored in
a p l a s t i c b a g , s u p p l i e d i n t h e k i t , t o
avoid staining your vehicle with traces
o f fl u i d .
Warning: the bottle of gel contains
e t h y l e n e - g l y c o l , a p r o d u c t w h i c h
is harmful if swallowed and which
causes irritation to the eyes.
K e e p i t o u t o f r e a c h o f c h i l d r e n .
After use, do not discard the bottle
into the environment, take it to a
