Seat belt not fastened warning light* When the ignition is swit-
ched on, this indicator light comes on if the driver has not fastened hisseat belt. Above 12 mph (20 kmh), this warning light flashes for two minutes accom-panied by an audible signal which
becomes progressively louder. Oncethe two minutes have elapsed, thewarning light remains on until the dri-ver fastens his seat belt.
Battery charge warning light
This indicates one of the following:
- faulty operation of the charging circuit,
- slack battery or starter terminals,
- a cut or slack alternator belt,
- an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine diagnostics warning light This comes on for a few
seconds each time the ignition is switched on. If it comes on with the engine run- ning, this indicates incorrect opera-tion of the injection, ignition or emis-
sion control system. There is a riskof damage to the catalytic converter(petrol engine only).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Passenger air bag disarmed warninglight*
If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the warning light comes on whenthe ignition is switched on and itremains on.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer if the warning light flashes.
Low fuel levelwarning light
When this light first comes on, youhave enough fuel to drive approxi-
mately 30 miles (50 km) (The tank
capacity is approximately 55 litresfor petrol engines and 60 litres forDiesel engines). Diesel engine pre-heat warning light
Wait until the warning light goes out before starting the engine. If the temperature is high enough, the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start theengine without waiting.

Electronic stability control system(ESP/ASR) warninglight
This comes on for a few secondseach time the ignition is switched on.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer if the ESP/ASR switch indicator lightflashes and this warning lightremains on or comes on while theengine is running and the vehicle ismoving. While the engine is running and the vehicle is moving, it flashes if thesystem is activated. It comes on permanently when it is disarmed.

Instrument panel display After switching on the ignition, three functions are shown in succession: - service indicator (see corresponding section),- engine oil level indicator (Diesel),- total distance recorder/total and trip distances.Note:the total and trip distances are displayed for 30 seconds when the ignition
is switched off, on opening the driver's door, as well as on locking and unlocking the vehicle. Engine oil level (Diesel) When the ignition is switched on, the engine oil level is indicated for approximately 10 seconds, after the servicing information.
Maximum Note:a surplus of oil can cause damage to the
engine. Minimum Check the level with the dipstick and top it up. The level indicated is only correct if the vehiclehas been on stable, level ground, with theengine stopped, for 10 minutes. Oil level gauge fault The 6 segments flash to indicate a fault in the oil level gauge. There is a risk the engine will be damaged.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Front and side air bags warning light
The light will come on for a fewseconds when the ignition is swit-ched on. With the engine running, illumination of this warning light, accompaniedby an audible signal, indicates afault in the air bags.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Coolant temperature indicator
- needle in zone (A), the tempera-
ture is correct,
- needle in zone (B), the tempera-
ture is too high. The central STOP
warning light flashes.
You must stop.

Total distance recorder Briefly pressing button 1alternates
between the total and trip distance displays.
To reset the trip recorder to zero, when it is displayed press button 1
until zeros appear. Lighting rheostat With the lights on, press the button to vary the intensity of the lighting ofthe instruments and controls. Whenthe lighting reaches the minimum (ormaximum) setting, release the but-ton then press it again to increase(or reduce) the brightness. As soon as the lighting is of the required brightness, release the button.

1. Air conditioning
The air conditioning is designed to operate in all seasons. In summer, it enables
the temperature to be lowered and in winter, above 0¡ C, it increases the
effectiveness of the demisting.Press the switch to activate the air conditioning. The indicator light comes on. 2. Air flow adjustment and air
intake control
Turn the control from position 1to position 4to
obtain an air flow sufficientto ensure your comfort.

AIR CONDITIONING
The air conditioning does not operate while the air flow adjustment control is in the minimum position. Note: It is quite normal that the condensation created by the air conditioning
results in a flow of water under the vehicle when it is stationary.

SEAT BELTS Seat belt height adjustment:
To lower or raise: slide the control downwards or upwards. Locking the seat belts Pull the strap, then insert the end into the buckle. Front seat belts with pre- tensioner Safety in the event of frontal impacts has been improved by the introduc-tion of pre-tensioning seat belts forthe front seats. Depending on the seriousness of the impact, the pre-tensioning system instantly tightens the seatbelts and pulls them against thebodies of the occupants. The pre-tensioning seat belts are armed when the ignition is on. Rear seat belts The rear seats are fitted with three three-point inertia reel seat belts(two-part rear seat, 1/3 - 2/3).
To be effective, a seat belt must be tightened asclose to the body as possible.
Depending on the nature andseriousness of the impact, thepre-tensioning system may betriggered before and indepen-dently of the air bags. In all cases, the air bag warning light on the instrument panelcomes on. Following a collision, have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer.

THE KEYS The keys allow you to switch on the ignition and operate the passengerair bag disarming switch as well as toindependently operate the locks onthe doors and the fuel filler cap. Central locking From the front doors, the keys allow you to lock and unlock the doors andtailgate. If one of the doors or the tailgate is open, the central locking does notwork. The remote control performs the same functions at a distance.The remote control Locking Press button
Ato lock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indicators for approxi-mately two seconds. Unlocking Press button Bto unlock the vehicle.
This is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators. Note: if the vehicle is locked and
unlocking is activated inadvertently, unless the doors are opened within30 seconds, the vehicle will lock
automatically. Locating your vehicle
To locate your vehicle, if you have locked it, in a car park: press button A, the courtesy
lights come on and the direction indicators flash for a fewseconds.
Changing the battery of the remote control The information "battery flat" is given by an audible signal accompanied by the message "Remote control
battery flat" on the screen.
To change the battery, unclip thecasing using a coin at the ring (CR 2016/3 volt battery). If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed,re-programme the remote control. Programming the remote control Switch off the ignition.
Switch the ignition on again.
Press button Aimmediately for a
few seconds.
Switch off the ignition and remo- ve the remote control key from
the ignition lock. The remotecontrol is now working again.
