Besurethevehiclebatteryiswellchargedandcrankstheengineproperly.
Checkalldoorsandlidsforproperoperationandlatchthemproperly.
Check,andifnecessaryreplacewornorcrackedwiperblades.
Seethatallwindowsareclearandunobstruct-ed.
Checkairintakeslotsandareabetweenluggagecompartmentlidandwindshield.Ensurethattheseareasarefreeofsnowandice,sotheheaterandthewindshieldwipersworkproperly.
Ifachildwillberidinginthevehicle,checkchildseat/childseatrestraintsystemtoensurethatrestraintsareproperlyadjusted.
Checkallexteriorandinteriorlightsforoperationandthatthelensesareclean.
Checktheheadlightsforproperaim,andifnecessary,havethemadjusted.
Checkunderthevehicleforleaks.
Besureallluggageisstowedsecurely.
Emergencyequipment
Itisgoodpracticetocarryemergencyequipmentinyourvehicle.Someoftheitemsyoushouldhaveare:windowscraper,snowbrush,containerorbagofsandorsalt,emergencylight,smallshovel,first-aidkit,etc.

Polisheswhichdissolveoxides,suchasthosefrequentlyusedforothermetals,orabrasivetoolsoragentsareunsuitablebecausetheybreakdowntheoxidelmoftheprotectivecoatingandwillcausediscolorationofthewheel.
Everythreemonths,aftercleaning,coatthewheelswithacarwaxornon-corrosivegrease(vaseline).Usingacleancloththoroughlyrubthegreaseintothesurface.
Door,roof,lidandwindowseals
Washdirt(e.g.abrasion,dust,roadsalts)fromallsealsregularlyusingwarmsoapywater.Donotuseanychemicalcleaningagentsorsolvents.
Whenthereisafrosthazard,theouterdoorsealsandthefrontandrearlidsealscanbeprotectedagainstfreezingintoplacebyasuitablecareproduct.
Inordertopreventdamagetotheanti-frictioncoating,theinnerdoorseals,theconvertibletopsealsandhardtopsealsmustnotbetreatedwithcareproducts.
