–unleadedfuelmayhaveaconsiderablyloweroctanerating.Excessiveengineknockandseriousdamagetobothengineandcatalyticconverterscouldresult;

Octaneratingindicatesafuel’sabilitytoresistdetonation.Therefore,buyingthecorrectoctanegasisimportanttopreventengine“damage”.
