Defrosting windshield
Activating defrosting function
fPress button . The indicator light on the button lights up.The air flows to the windshield and the front side windows.The windshield is demisted or defrosted as quickly as possible.
Deactivating defrosting function
fPress button . The indicator light on the button goes out.orPress button AUTO/SYNC.
Air-recirculation mode
Switching on air-recirculation mode
fPress button . The indicator light on the button lights up.The outside-air supply is interrupted and only the inside air is recirculated.
Switching air-recirculation mode off
fPress button . The indicator light on the button goes out.
Information
If the air-conditioning compressor is switched off manually or automatically, recirculated air mode ends after approx. 3 minutes.
Setting automatic air-recirculation mode
In automatic air-recirculation mode, the fresh air supply is adjusted depending on the air quality.
Automatic air-recirculation mode can be switched on and off on the multi-function display.
Air-recirculation mode is deactivated automatically to prevent the windows from misting at outside temperatures of less than approx. 41 °F (5 °C).

Information
The recommended operating mode is automatic air-recirculation mode (default setting).

A- Set temperature left/right B - Set air quantity
Setting temperature
For personal comfort, the interior temperature can be adjusted individually for the driver’s and passenger’s side between 61 °F (16 °C) and 85 °F (29.5 °C). Recommendation: 72 °F (22 °C).
The selected temperature is shown on the display.
Increasing temperature
fPress button TEMP upwards. The preset temperature value is shown on the air-conditioning display.
Information
Pressing button AUTO/SYNC selects the preset temperature.
Information
The air-conditioning system always cools and heats the passenger compartment to the preset temperature at maximum cooling or heating temperature.Setting the temperature temporarily to a lower or higher value does not cool or heat the passenger compartment to the desired temperature more quickly.
Set air quantity
The selected air quantity is shown in a bar display above the button . The more bars that are displayed, the more air flows into the passenger compartment.
Increasing air quantity
fPress button upwards.
Reducing air quantity
fPress button downwards.
Pressing button AUTO/SYNC switches back to automatic mode.
If the air quantity was reduced so much that OFF appears on the air-conditioning display, the outside-air supply is interrupted and the air-conditioning compressor is switched off.
The windows can mist up if the air quantity setting is OFF.fOnly select air quantity setting OFF for short periods.fPress button upwards (increase air quantity).
Setting air distribution manually
fPress button . The air flows to the windshield and the side windows.fPress button .The air flows from the central and side vents. The air vents must be open.fPress button .The air flows to the footwell.
The indicator light on the button lights up.
Cancelling manual air distribution
fPress the relevant air distribution button again. The indicator light on the button goes out.orPress button AUTO/SYNC. Air quantity and distribution are controlled automatically and variations are compensated.

Extended ventilation panel
The extended ventilation panel on top of the dashboard can be activated or deactivated separately in the multi-function display on the instrument panel.The air flow in the passenger compartment is less direct.The automatic control of the air-conditioning system adjusts the air flow quantity automatically.
Air Vents
Air vents are located on the dashboard that can be opened and closed manually. The direction of the air flow can also be adjusted.
Opening vents
fTurn the thumb wheel on the air vent upwards.
Closing vents
fTurn the thumb wheel on the air vent downwards.
Information
fFor optimal air conditioning, we recommend keeping the center air vents closed during the cold season and to only open them as required for the purpose of warming the hands.
Changing air flow direction
fSwivel vent vanes in the desired direction.
Air-conditioning settings on the multi-function display
Additional settings relating to vehicle air conditioning can be adjusted in the multi-function display on the instrument panel.

Air flow
Three air flow settings are available in automatic mode:–“ Soft”: Recommended for passengers sensitive to draughts with a preference for gentle air conditioning.–“ Normal”: Default setting.–“ Strong”: Stronger ventilation in the passenger compartment.The air flow is clearly noticeable.

Auto air-recirculation mode
fAuto air-recirculation mode can be switched on and off.

Closing the roof
First setting – manual operationfPull and hold button C in the first setting until the desired position is reached.
Second setting – one-touch operationfBriefly pull button C to the second setting. The roof closes automatically.
The process can be interrupted by pulling button C again.
Opening the roll-up sunblind
First setting – manual operationfPull and hold button A in the first setting until the desired position is reached.
Second setting – one-touch operationfBriefly pull button A to the second setting. The sunblind opens automatically to the end position.
The process can be interrupted by pressing button A again.
Closing the roll-up sunblind
First setting – manual operationfPress and hold button A in the first setting until the desired position is reached.
Second setting – one-touch operationfBriefly press button A to the second setting. The sunblind closes automatically to the end position.
The process can be interrupted by pressing button A again.
Information
If the sunroof is partly or fully open, the sunblind can only be closed as far as the front edge of the sunroof.
If the sunblind is closed, it will be opened (pulled along) automatically when the sunroof is opened.
Warning message on multi-function display
If there is a fault in the sunroof the warning “ Close sunroof completely” appears on the multi- function display.fClose sunroof with button C. Have the fault corrected by an authorized Porsche dealer at the next opportunity.
Emergency closing of sunroof
Emergency closing after repeated intervention from the force limiter
If the closing operation of the roof is impeded by an obstruction, it can be closed manually with increased force.
To perform emergency closing: 1. Remove the obstruction. 2. Pull and hold button C in the first setting until the roof closes and stops in the closed position.Repeat closing operation if necessary
Emergency operation if roof drive mechanism fails
If the roof drive mechanism is defective, it can be closed manually using the hexagon key from the tool kit.fBefore using emergency operation, check that the fuse is intact.

Door windows and side windows
The side windows are lowered automatically when the convertible top is opened . The door windows close automatically if operation of the convertible top is continued after it has reached its final position.The rear side windows open automatically when the door windows are opened.
The side windows are lowered automatically when the convertible top is closed. All windows close automatically if operation of the convertible top is continued after it has reached its final position.
Conditions for operating the convertible top
– The ignition must be switched on (engine running or switched off).– Maximum speed up to approx. 30 mph (50 km/h).Opening/closing of the convertible top will be interrupted if the maximum speed is exceeded.
Opening convertible top
When opening the convertible top, parts of the body can become trapped between the convertible-top mechanism or convertible-top compartment lid and fixed vehicle parts.fWhen opening the convertible top, make sure that nobody is at risk of injury from the convertible-top mechanism or the convertible-top compartment lid.fIn order to interrupt convertible-top operation in the event of danger, immediately release the switch.

When closing the convertible top, parts of the body can become trapped between the convertible-top mechanism or convertible-top compartment lid and fixed vehicle parts.fWhen closing the convertible top, make sure that nobody is at risk from injury from the convertible-top mechanism or the convertible-top compartment lid.fIn order to interrupt convertible-top operation in the event of danger, immediately release the switch.fKeep the lids of the vanity mirrors in the sun visors closed when closing the convertible top.

Wind Deflector
Persons sitting on the rear seats may be trapped when raising the wind deflector.fEnsure that nobody can be injured when raising the wind deflector.fIn case of danger, release the switch immediately.
Risk of damage to wind deflector and seat backrests. At extreme backrest angles, the wind deflector can collide with the seat backrests.fBefore raising the wind deflector, always adjust both seat backrests to the upright position.

Raising/lowering the wind deflector
Conditions for operating the wind deflector
– The ignition must be switched on (engine running or switched off).– Maximum speed up to approx.: 75 mph (120 km/h) for lowering and124 mph (200 km/h) for raising.If these speeds are exceeded, raising/lowering of the wind deflector is not possible.fPress and hold the switch until the end position of the wind deflector is reached and the message on the multi-function display goes out.

fAlways carry out emergency operation with the greatest care.fDo not activate the convertible top and wind deflector during emergency operation.
There is a risk of damage to the convertible top and convertible-top mechanism.fDo not activate the convertible top during emergency operation.
Risk of damage to convertible top and convertible- top mechanism.fAfter emergency operation, do not operate the convertible top.fDrive slowly to an authorized Porsche dealer.
Before emergency operation
Before carrying out emergency operation, please check:1. Was the ignition switched on during operation of the wind deflector and convertible top with the switch?2. Are the fuses defective? Please see the chapter “CHANGING FUSES” on page 267.3. Remove the ignition key so that the wind deflector and convertible top are not activated unintentionally.
Removing the rear wall trim panel
1. Fold the rear seat backrests forward ( illustration). 2. Carefully lever the rear wall trim panel out of the clip points using the screwdriver (from the tool kit) and fold it forward or pull off the rear wall trim panel using the two loops (depending on vehicle equipment) and fold it forward ( illustration).

If you drive without lights, this may significantly restrict your visibility and also the ability of other road users to see your vehicle.fAlways carefully monitor the automatic driving light control.
Information
In the event of a fault in the automatic driving light assistant/Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), the PDLS warning light in the instrument panel flashes.

Rain function
The driving light is switched on automatically after five seconds of continuous wiper operation.
If the wipers have not been used for approx. 4 minutes, the driving light is switched off.
Automatic Coming Home lights (Welcome Home function/Entry function)

The following lights remain switched on for a certain period to allow you to get in and out of your vehicle safely and with improved visibility in darkness:– Daytime driving lights,– Courtesy lights in the folded out exterior mirrors (on vehicles with electrically foldable mirrors),– Rear side marker lights,– License plate lights.
Welcome Home function (off delay)
When the vehicle is locked, the lights remain switched on for the duration of the off delay preset on the multi-function display.

Entry function/Exit function
When the vehicle is unlocked, the area around the vehicle is illuminated for the duration of the off delay preset on the multi-function display.
The lights are switched off when the ignition is switched on or the light switch is set to a position other than .

Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
Dynamic cornering light
Above a speed of approx. 5 mph (8 km/h), the low beam light is swiveled in the direction of the curve to illuminate the road more clearly, depending on the speed of the vehicle and the extent to which the steering wheel is turned.
In the event of a fault in the dynamic cornering light, the PDLS warning light in the instrument panel flashes.
Highway function in darkness
The distribution characteristics of the driving light change when driving in darkness at vehicle speeds above approx. 80 mph (130 km/h).The light beam becomes longer and the field of vision increases.
Fog lights
The distribution characteristics of the driving light change when the rear fog light is switched on at vehicle speeds below approx. 43 mph (70 km/h).The light beam becomes wider and reduces glare.

Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)
High Beam Assistant
When High Beam Assistant is switched on, a camera A detects the light sources of oncoming vehicles and vehicles in front, and automatically selects between low beam and high beam.The function activates in darkness if the following conditions are present:– Light switch position is selected.– Vehicle speed is more than approx. 37 mph (60 km/h).– High Beam Assistant is activated on the multi-function display in the instrument panel.Please see the chapter “ACTIVATING AND DEACTIVATING HIGH BEAM ASSISTANT” on page 120.
– High Beam Assistant on is selected on the high beam stalk.Please see the chapter “ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING HIGH BEAM ASSISTANT” on page 82.
As an anti-glare precaution for built up areas, High Beam Assistant is not available at speeds below 20 mph (30 km/h).
The lights also switch from high to low beam automatically as soon as a built up area is detected.

fTo help make sure that nothing interferes with camera operation:Do not block the camera area A with objects (e.g. stickers).fThe camera A must always be kept free of dirt, ice and snow to ensure that it is fully functional.For car care instructions: Please see the chapter “CAR CARE INSTRUCTIONS” on page 231.
The driver remains responsible while driving, e.g. manually operating the high beam according to light, visibility and traffic conditions, regardless of High Beam Assistant. The system is no substitute for careful attention on the part of the driver.Manual intervention may be required in the following situations:– In unfavorable weather conditions, e.g. rain, snow, ice, heavy spray.– On roads where oncoming traffic is partly obscured, e.g. highways.– Where there are road users with poor lights, e.g. cyclists.– On tight bends, or on sharp humps or dips.– In poorly lit built up areas.– Where there are strong reflections, e.g. signs.– Where the windshield in the camera area is misted, dirty, icy or covered with stickers.fDrive with extreme care.fAlways pay attention to the traffic situation and the area around the vehicle.fChange to using the high beam manually according to light, visibility and traffic conditions.

Instrument Lighting
The lighting is automatically adjusted to the ambient brightness via light sensors.In addition, when the vehicle lighting is switched on, the instrument and switch brightness can be adjusted manually.fTurn adjustment button A in the appropriate direction and hold until the desired brightness has been reached.
Adjusting the brightness while driving may cause you to lose control of the vehicle.fDo not reach through the steering-wheel spokes when driving.
Turn Signal/High Beam/Headlight
Flasher Stalk/Parking Light Switch
Turn signal, low beam and high beam are ready for operation when the ignition is on.1 – Turn signal light, left2 – Turn signal light, right3 – High beam, High Beam Assistant4 – Headlight flasher (also with the ignition switched off)
Stalk in center position – dipped beam
Turn signal lights
fPush the stalk once to the lower or upper pressure point 1 or 2. The turn signal lights flash three times.
High-beam headlight
Switching on and off (on vehicles WITHOUT High Beam Assistant)
fSwitching on : Push the stalk once to the front pressure point 3. The indicator light lights up on the tachometer.fSwitching off : Push the stalk once to the rear pressure point 4.
Activating/deactivating High Beam Assistant
The following conditions must be met before High Beam Assistant is activated:– Darkness– Light switch position is selected.– Vehicle speed is more than approx. 37 mph (60 km/h).– High Beam Assistant is activated on the multi-function display in the instrument panel.Please see the chapter “ACTIVATING AND DEACTIVATING HIGH BEAM ASSISTANT” on page 120.fActivating : Push the stalk once to the front pressure point 3. The indicator light in the speedometer lights up. The High Beam Assistant can only be deactivated if the indicator light on the tachometer is lit.
