The fault is present when the starter is operating or the engine is running at idle
speed.
Special note:
Use the Wiring Diagrams Technical Note for Logan, Sandero, Duster, Thalia 2/
Symbol 2 or Kangoo VLL.
Check the connection and condition of the cylinder reference sensor connector, component code 746.
Check the connection and condition of the injection computer connector, component code 120.
If the connectors are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector, otherwise
replace the wiring.
Check for + 12 V after ignition feed on connection 3FB (or 3FB2 or 3FBA) of the connector of the cylinder
reference sensor, component code 746.
If the connection is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise
replace it.
Check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the following connections:
●3CQ (or 3DRB) between components 120 and 746,
●3PL (or 3DRC) between components 120 and 746,
●3FB (or 3FB2 or 3FBA) between components 746 and 983.
If the connection(s) are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or
Technical Note 9804A (Dacia), Repairing electrical wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring,
otherwise replace it.
Check the timing adjustment (see MR 388 (Logan/Sandero), MR 451 (Duster), MR 423 (Thalia 2/Symbol 2) or
MR 374 (Kangoo VLL), Mechanical, 11A, Top and front of engine, Timing belt: Removal - Refitting).
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.

– Inlet manifold pressure and temperature sensor, component code 147 or temperature sensor only, component
code 272 and turbocharger pressure sensor, component code 1071.
– Rail pressure sensor, component code 1032.
– Pedal sensor gang 1 and 2, component code 921.
– Exhaust gas recirculation valve position sensor, component code 1460.
– Injection air flow sensor, component code 799.
If the connectors are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector, otherwise
replace the wiring.
Check the condition and connection of the injection computer connectors, component code 120.
If the connectors are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector, otherwise
replace the wiring.
To locate an internal fault on one of the sensors with a + 5 V feed (short circuit), disconnect each of the sensors in
the list above in turn, checking after each disconnection whether the fault changes status from present to stored.
If the faulty sensor is located, check its connections and that it is in order.
If necessary replace the sensor.

Check for +5 V on connection 3GC of component 1460.
If the connection is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise
replace it.
Check the resistance of the EGR valve:
– with the engine stopped, the EGR valve will be closed (unless there is a fault),
– wait for the ambient temperature to stabilise (approximately 20°C) around the valve,
– measure the resistance between connections 3VP and 3VQ of component 1460. The resistance must be
between: 0.5  < R < 50 .
If the value is not correct, replace the EGR valve (see MR 388 (Logan/Sandero), MR 451 (Duster), MR 423
(Thalia 2/Symbol 2) or MR 374 (Kangoo VLL), Mechanical, 14A, Emission control, Exhaust gas recirculation
solenoid valve: Removal - Refitting).
After replacing the EGR valve, use command RZ002 EGR adaptives to reinitialise the EGR valve offsets.
Also if a 3.DEF, 4.DEF or 5.DEF fault is present:
- Remove the EGR valve.
- Check that there are no foreign bodies (scale, etc.) that could jam the valve.
- Remove the foreign matter and clean the EGR valve (see Technical Note 3916A, Cleaning the EGR solenoid
valve).
- Refit the EGR valve.
- run command RZ002 EGR adaptives to reinitialise the EGR valve offsets.
- Clear the faults from the computer memory. Carry out a road test followed by another check with the diagnostic
tool.
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
K9K 790 and 794 ENGINES (Euro 3):
Check the connection and condition of the EGR valve connector, component code 1460.
Check the connection and condition of connector B (brown 48-track) of the injection computer, component code
120.
If the connectors are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the connector, otherwise
replace the wiring.
Check the insulation and continuity of the following connections:
●3FB (or 3FB2) between components 1460 and 120,
●122B between components 1460 and 120.
If the connection(s) are faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or
Technical Note 9804A (Dacia), Repairing electrical wiring, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring,
otherwise replace it.

Check for +12 V on connection 3GC of component 1460.
If the connection is faulty and if there is a repair procedure (see Technical Note 6015A (Renault) or Technical
Note 9804A (Dacia), Electrical wiring repair, Wiring: Precautions for repair), repair the wiring, otherwise
replace it.
Check the resistance of the EGR valve, component code 1460:
●with the engine stopped, the EGR valve will be closed (unless there is a fault),
●wait for the ambient temperature to stabilise (approximately 20°C) around the valve,
●measure the resistance between connections 3FB (or 3FB2) and 122B. The resistance must be between
7.5 ●measure the resistance between connections 3GC and 3JM. The resistance must be between 2.4 k < R <
5.6 k (à 20 °C),
●measure the resistance between connections 3JM and 3EL. The resistance must be between 800  < R <
3.6 k (at 20 °C),
If the value is not correct, replace the EGR valve, component code 1460 (see MR 388 (Logan/Sandero) or MR
451 (Duster), Mechanical, 14A, Emission control, Exhaust gas recirculation valve: Removal - Refitting).
After replacing the EGR valve, use command RZ002 EGR adaptives to reinitialise the EGR valve offsets.
Also, if a 3.DEF, 4.DEF or 5.DEF fault is present:
– Remove the EGR valve.
– Check that there are no foreign bodies (scale, etc.) that could jam the valve.
– Remove the foreign matter and clean the EGR valve (see Technical Note 3916A, Cleaning the EGR solenoid
valve).
– Refit the EGR valve.
– run command RZ002 EGR adaptives to reinitialise the EGR valve offsets.

accelerometer.
