HANDS-FREE RENAULT CARD: use (1/3)
UseOn equipped vehicles, in addition to
the functions of the above-mentioned
remote control RENAULT card, it can
be used to lock/unlock without using
the RENAULT card, when it is in access
zone 1.

Recommendations
Do not store the RENAULT card
anywhere it may come into con-
tact with other electronic equipment
(computer, PDA, phone, etc.) as this
could hinder its operation.
After unlocking the vehicle or the
boot only using the buttons of the
RENAULT card, remote locking and
unlocking in hands-free mode are
deactivated.
To reactivate the hands-free mode:
restart the vehicle.

Unlocking the vehicleWith the RENAULT card in the zone 1,
press the button 3 or, depending on the
vehicle, place your hand behind the
handle 2: the vehicle will unlock.
In some cases (leaving the vehicle
parked for several days, for example),
you may need to pull handle 2 twice to
unlock the vehicle and open the door.
Pressing the button 4 also unlocks all
the doors and the tailgate.
The hazard warning lights flash once
to indicate that the doors have been un-
locked.

Locking the vehicle
There are three ways to lock the ve-
hicle: remotely, using the button 3, or
using the RENAULT card.
These three modes also allow the vehi-
cle to be locked with the roof open.
Remote locking
With the RENAULT card on you, and
doors and tailgate closed, move away
from the vehicle: it will lock automati-
cally once you have left zone 1.
Note: The distance at which the vehicle
locks depends on the surroundings. The hazard warning lights
flash twice
and a beep sounds to indicate that the
doors have locked.
The beep may be switched off. Please
consult an authorised dealer.
If a door or the tailgate is open or not
properly closed, or a card is in the
passenger compartment (or the card
reader) the vehicle will not lock. In this
situation, no beep sounds and the
hazard warning lights do not flash.
Locking using the button 3
With the doors and boot closed, press
the button 3 on the driver’s door. The
vehicle will lock. If a door or the boot is
open or not closed properly, the vehicle
will quickly lock/unlock.
Note: The RENAULT card must be
within the vehicle’s detection zone 1 to
be able to use the button for locking.
Special note: If you wish to check that
the doors are locked after locking using
the button 3 , you have approximately
three seconds to try the door handles
without unlocking them. After this delay,
the hands-free mode is activated once
again and any movement of a handle
will unlock the vehicle.

OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOORS (2/3)
Lights-on reminder buzzer
If you have switched off the ignition
and left the lights switched on, a re-
minder buzzer will sound when a door
is opened.
Card reminder buzzer
On opening the driver’s door, if the
card is still in the reader, the message
“Please remove keycard” is displayed
on the instrument panel accompanied
by a warning beep.
Door/tailgate open buzzer
If an opening element (door or boot) is
open or not properly closed, as soon
as the vehicle reaches a speed of ap-
proximately 6 mph (10 km/h), the mes-
sage “Boot open” or “Door open” (de-
pending on which is open) will appear
on the instrument panel accompanied
by a warning light.
Special note
Once the engine has been switched off,
the lights and accessories (radio, etc.)
will continue to operate until the driver’s
door is opened.
As a safety precaution,
the doors should only be
opened or closed when the
vehicle is stationary.

Activating/deactivating the
function
Refer to “Vehicle settings customisation
menu” in Section 1, regarding the “Auto
door locking while driving” function:
= function activated
< function deactivated.
AUTOMATIC LOCKING WHEN DRIVING
You can decide whether you want to
activate this function.
Operating principle
After the vehicle is started, the system
automatically locks the doors when
you are driving at approximately 6 mph
(10 km/h) and over.
The door can be unlocked:
– by pressing the button 1 to unlock
the doors;
– by opening a front door (vehicle sta- tionary).
Note: if a door is opened or closed,
it will automatically lock again when
the vehicle reaches a speed of 6 mph
(10 km/h).
Operating faults
If you experience an operating fault (no
automatic locking, the indicator light in-
corporated in button 1 does not light
up when trying to lock the doors and
boot, etc.), firstly check that the doors
and boot are properly closed. If they are
properly closed, contact an authorised
dealer.

Driver’s responsibility
If you decide to keep the
doors locked when you are
driving, remember that it
may be more difficult for those as-
sisting you to gain access to the
passenger compartment in the
event of an emergency.

RETRACTABLE GLASS ROOF: opening
Before opening the roof
– Perform the procedure with the engine running (risk of battery dis-
charging) and the vehicle stationary.
– Ensure that the boot divider 1 is well
tensioned and that the boot is fully
closed.
Note: If one of these conditions is
not met, the message “Roof: shut
boot blind” or “Roof: see handbook”
appears on the instrument panel.
– Ensure that no object has been left in the part reserved for the roof (above
the divider 1).
– Make sure that no object is pushing up the boot divider 1.
– Make sure that no object projects above the boot divider 1.
– Check that no object has been left on the roof, on the luggage compart-
ment lid or on the parcel shelf behind
the rear headrests.
– Remove any ice or snow (risk of seal damage).
To avoid all risk of injury,
ensure that nobody is in
the proximity of the moving
parts.
When opening or closing the roof,
ensure that nothing interferes with
the moving parts (roof and luggage
compartment lid).

Opening the roof
Move the switch 2 backwards, all four
windows go down a few centimetres.
Hold the switch backwards until the
roof is fully open (boot closed), the win-
dows go up again. A beep sounds to-
gether with the message “Operation
completed” when the operation ends.
Holding the switch 2 in the “open” posi-
tion lowers all the windows.
Release the switch. You may now start
driving. Note: if you stop closing the roof during
the operation, the roof will lower slowly
in stages over 10 minutes.

RETRACTABLE GLASS ROOF: closing
Closing the roof
Move the switch 2 forwards to close the
roof fully (roof closed and boot closed);
a beep sounds together with the mes-
sage “Operation completed” when the
operation ends.
Holding the switch 2 in the “close” posi-
tion raises all the windows.
Release the switch. You can now drive.
Before closing the roof
– Perform the procedure with the engine running (risk of battery dis-
charging) and the vehicle stationary.
– Ensure that the luggage compart- ment divider is well tensioned and
that the tailgate is fully closed.
Note: If one of these conditions is
not met, the message “Roof: shut
boot blind ” or “ Roof: see handbook”
appears on the instrument panel.
– Make sure that there are no objects in the space between the different
parts of the roof and above the lug-
gage compartment divider.
– Check that no objects have been left on the tailgate or on the parcel shelf
behind the rear headrests.

RETRACTABLE GLASS ROOF: operating fault (1/2)
In the event of a fault before
or while opening or closing
the roof
There is a beep and the message
“Check roof See handbook”, accom-
panied by the warning light

pears on the instrument panel.
Stop pressing the switch 1.
The roof lowers back slowly in stages.
Safety mode for closing the roof
From the driver’s seat:
– switch off the engine;
– move the switch 1 backwards while
starting the engine. Hold the switch 1
down for 10 seconds (a beep sounds
to warn you);
– open the boot fully by moving the switch 1 backwards and pulling the
switch 2 at the same time;

– bring the roof out of the boot by moving the switch 1 forwards and
pulling the switch 2 at the same time;
– position the shelf under the boot by moving the switch 1 backwards and
pressing the switch 2 at the same
time;
– close the boot fully by moving the switch 1 forwards and pressing the
switch 2 at the same time. Hold
these controls down for around
5 seconds once the boot lid is closed.

When operating in this
mode, all the sensors are
deactivated and there may
be contact between the var-
ious parts of the roof.

Depending on the vehicle, remove the
central partition in the storage compart-
ment to access the inflation kit.
Open the kit, remove caps 1 and 3 (the
cap must not be removed from the
bottle) then screw bottle 2 to its base 3.
Engine running, handbrake applied:
– unscrew the valve cap on the wheel concerned and screw inflation
adapter 6 onto the valve;
– connect adapter 8 to the accessories
socket on the dashboard of the vehi-
cle;
– press switch 5 to inflate the tyre to
the recommended pressure (check
the label affixed to the edge of the
driver’s door);
– after a maximum of 5 minutes, stop inflating and read the pressure (on
pressure gauge 4);
Note: while the bottle is emptying
(approximately 30 seconds), pres-
sure gauge 4 will briefly indicate a
pressure of 6 bar, then the pressure
will drop.

2– adjust the pressure: to increase it, continue inflating with the kit, to
reduce it, turn button 7 located on
the inflation adapter.
If a minimum pressure of 1.8 bar is
not reached after 15 minutes, repair
is not possible; do not drive the ve-
hicle but contact an approved dealer.
Inflation kit C
Depending on the vehicle, in the event
of a puncture, use the kit located under-
neath the boot carpet.
Before using this kit, park
the vehicle at a sufficient
distance from traffic, switch
on the hazard warning
lights, apply the handbrake, ask all
passengers to leave the vehicle and
keep them away from traffic.
If the vehicle is parked on
the hard shoulder, you must
warn other road users of
your vehicle’s presence
with a warning triangle or with other
devices as per the legislation apply-
ing to the country you are in.

TYRE INFLATION KIT (4/5)
Inflation kit D
Depending on the vehicle, in the event
of a puncture, use the kit located in the
boot or underneath the luggage com-
partment carpet.
Engine running, handbrake applied:
– unroll the hose from the container;
– connect the compressor hose 12 to
the container’s inlet 17;
– depending on the vehicle, connect the container 17 to the compressor
from the container recess 16;
– unscrew the valve cap on the rel- evant wheel and screw on the con-
tainer’s inflation adapter 10;
– adapter 11 must be connected to the
vehicle accessories socket;
– press switch 13 to inflate the tyre to
the recommended pressure (please
refer to the information in the section
on “Tyre pressure”);
