SERVICE WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATED BY THE SYSTEM
If the SERVICE WARNING LIGHT is illuminated, check for faults and check the conformity of the systems
concerned.
1 : Multiplex line communication
Check the multiplex network (see 88B, Multiplex)
2 : Injection
3 : Water present in diesel fuel
Perform fault finding on the injection system:
–Petrol: See 17B, Petrol injection,
–Diesel: See 13B, Diesel injection.
4 : Sequential gearbox
Carry out fault finding on the sequential gearbox (see 23A, Sequential gearbox).
5 : Vehicle speed circuit
Carry out fault finding on the ABS/ESP system (see 38C, Anti-lock braking system).
6 : Cruise control/speed limiter
Perform fault finding on the injection system:
–Petrol: See 17B, Petrol injection,
–Diesel: See 13B, Diesel injection.
7 : ESP
8 : ABS
Carry out fault finding on the ABS/ESP system (see 38C, Anti-lock braking system).
9 : Oil service interval
Perform fault finding on the injection system:
–Petrol: See 17B, Petrol injection,
–Diesel: See 13B, Diesel injection.
10 : Particle filter
Perform fault finding on the injection system:
–Petrol: See 17B, Petrol injection,
–Diesel: See 13B, Diesel injection.
11 : Airbag
Carry out fault finding on the Airbag system (see 88C, Airbag and pretensioners).
12 : OBD
Perform fault finding on the injection system:
–Petrol: See 17B, Petrol injection,
–Diesel: See 13B, Diesel injection.
If there are no faults, carry out a multiplex network check (see 88B, Multiplex).
AFTER REPAIRDeal with any faults displayed by the diagnostic tool.
Clear the computer memory.
Carry out a road test followed by another check with the diagnostic tool.
