Once the desired band isselected press the multi-function button
MAN; then, via the search keys select the frequencydesired.
If the keys are brieflypressed the changing is step by step (of
9 kHzin AM and of 100 kHzin FM) and if they are maintained
pressed, the freque
ncies change rapidly. In thiswayitisalso
possible to tune in stationswith weak signals, notdetectable via
the automaticsearch.

SCCAANN FFuunnccttiioonn
With the SCAN function activated, allthe stationswith a good
quality ofreception are reproduced during 10 seconds. To select a
station, deactivate the function SCAN whilst the same isbeing
played.

To select a stored radio station, first select the band (AM or FM)
and the corresponding memorylevel(AM1, AM2, FM1 or FM2).
Pressing briefly the corresponding pre-tuning key, selects the
desired station.

Via the Auto-store function are stored automatically the sixstations
with better reception quality of a band (AM or FM).
The Auto-store function is activated by brieflypressing the multi-
function key AS.

Memory LEARN (lrn)
Function onlyavailable in the FM band.
In the LEARN memorymay be stored the stations of better
reception.
Thisfunction makes sense ifyou move into a non-habitualzone
and do notwantto erase the pre-tuned stationsin the
memory
keys (1 to 6) to which you are accustomed to.L
LEEAARRNN MMeemmoorryy ooccccuuppaattiioonn
Press the multi-function key LRN. "learn" appearsin the display.
The receiver searchesin the FM band and stores the stationsof
greater power that are transmitted in the area where you are at the
moment.
Next the unitchanges to the station with better reception
.
To select another station of the LEARN memorypress the search
keys.

Alternate Frequencies (AF)
Function onlyavailable in the FM band.
RDS programsexistwhich may be transmitted by variousstations
with differentfrequencies.

Press the multi-function key "af". "AF" appearsin the display.
The available alternate frequencies search is activated for the
selected station.
The radio silentlyand automatically passes to the alternate
frequency of better reception.

In case you are in an area of bad reception itmay occur that the
attemptsin changing be perceived as brief pauses or smallvolume
changes. To avoid this, you may switch off the AF function.
Again press the multi-function key "af". The indication AF
disappear
sfrom the display.K

Permits selecting the desired programming type, in the case that
the stations offer in the FM bands the PTYservice.
To switch on the PTYfunction brieflypress the keyPTY, then select
the type of program indicated in the display via the corresponding
multi-function key.Once selected, the search starts, which stops for 10 secondswhen
a station with the desired PTYisfound (in the display appears pty
and the type of program selected).
If the user decides to listen to the selected station, the search
stopsdisplaying the data of the said station.
To sear
ch for the next station, press the multi-functionalkey or the
search keyswithin those 10 seconds.
Ifno station isfound which emits the selected program type, the
PTYfunction switches off and returns to the last selected station.

ID3 field data
The ID3 data of an MP3 file containsinformation on the Artist,
Album and the name of the piece.
Thisunitcan display the information from the ID3 data field,
versions1 and 2, to a maximum of 60 charactersin total.
NNoottee
• When an MP3 discisbeing played itispossible that some songsmaynot
play or may be played incorrectly. Thismay be due to the configuration of
the disc, the software or the hardware used for the recording.
• Audio CDs (CD-DA) meet the specificati
onsand carrya corresponding
symbol. Those CDswith copyright protection do notmeet these
specificationsand do not bear the corresponding symbol; for thisreason
there may be errorsin reading this type ofdisc.
• For MP3 CDs the MP3 data rate should oscillate betw
een 8 and 320
Kb/sec.
• Itispossible to read multi-session discs butif the data has been recorded
in both formats (CD-DA and MP3), regardless of the order, only the audio
trackswillbe played.• With other formats that are notISO 9660 level1 or 2, the names of the
files and fo
ldersmaynot be displayed correctly.
• When a name isgiven to an MP3 file, itmust also contain the extension
“.MP3”. If the extension “.MP3” isgiven to a file thatisnot an MP3 file then
the unitwill not be able to recognise the file and may p
roduce unpleasant
noise.
• Itisnot possible to play MP3 files that are deeper than the first 8 folder
levels. To speed up the reading and searching, onlytwo levelsoffoldersare
recommended.
• The following types ofdiscwilltake some time to beg
in playing:
– A discwith manyfolder levels.
– A multi-session disc.
– A disc to which information may be added (Open)
• Itwill not be possible to play an audio CD (CD-R/CD-RW) that hasnot been
finalized.
