Turn signal lever
Turn signals can be operated when
The engine switch is in the “ON” position.
If the indicator flashes faster than usual
Check that a light bulb in the front or rear turn signal lights has not burned
out.
The turn signal lever can be used to show the following intentions
of the driver:
Right turn
Left turn
Lane change to the right
(push and hold the lever
partway)
The right hand signals will
flash until you release the
lever.
Lane change to the left
(push and hold the lever
partway)
The left hand signals will flash
until you release the lever.

Light bulbs
You may replace the following bulbs by yourself. The difficulty level
of replacement varies depending on the bulb. If necessary bulb
replacement seems difficult to perform, contact any authorized
Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped
professional.

equipped professional.
Preparing for light bulb replacement
Check the wattage of the light bulb to be replaced. (P. 354)

Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Remove the light bulb.
Back-up light, stop/tail lights, rear turn signal lights and rear
fog light
Open the back door and remove
the cover using a Phillips-head
screwdriver.

High mounted stoplight
Remove the screws using a Phil-
lips-head screwdriver.
Remove the clips by using a flat-
head screwdriver with the tip
wrapped in tape.

wise and remove the cover.
Remove the light bulb.
Lights other than the above
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by
any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Side turn signal lights
Daytime running lights (if equipped)
When installing the rubber cover of the headlight
Ensure the rubber cover is securely attached.
Fit the rubber cover outer circumfer-
ence in firmly.
Fit the rubber cover around the light
bulb in until the light bulb plug can be
seen.
