Replacing light bulbs
Before replacing the front headlight, front position light and
front turn signal light bulbs
Left side
Remove the upper of the air
cleaner duct.
Remove the securing clip.
Remove the upper of the air
cleaner duct to allow easy
access to light bulbs.
After replacing the bulbs, make
sure to firmly install the upper
portion of the air cleaner duct and
secure it with the clip.
Right side
Move the washer fluid filler open-
ing.
Remove the securing clip.
Move the washer fluid filler
opening.
After replacing the bulbs, make
sure to firmly install the washer
fluid filler opening and secure it
with the clip.

Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Unplug the connector while
depressing the lock release.

Remove the fender liner bolts,
clip and then partly remove the
fender liner.
Turn the bulb base counterclock-
wise.
Unplug the connector while
depressing the lock release.

Open the back door and remove
the cover.
Disengage the 2 claws and
remove the rear combination
light socket.
Remove the light bulb.

Remove the cover.
To prevent damaging the vehicle,
wrap the flatted screwdriver with
a tape.
Remove the light bulb.
Lights other than the above
If any of the lights listed below has burnt out, have it replaced by
any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional.
Headlight low beams (discharge bulb)
Side turn signal lights
High mounted stoplight
Stop lights

When replacing the front headlight, front position light and front turn
signal light bulbs
Replacing the air cleaner duct and/or washer fluid filler opening.
Left side

Replacing the engine compartment cover. (P. 407)
Condensation build-up on the inside of the lens
Contact any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified
and equipped professional, for more information in the following situations.
Temporary condensation build-up on the inside of the headlight lens does
not indicate a malfunction.
Large drops of water are built up on the inside of the lens.
Water has built up inside the headlight.
Discharge headlights (if equipped)
If voltage to the discharge bulbs is insufficient, the bulbs may not come on,
or may go out temporarily. The discharge bulbs will come on when normal
power is restored.
After replacing the bulbs, make sure to
secure the upper part of the air cleaner
duct with the clip.
After replacing the bulbs, make sure to
secure the washer fluid filler opening with
the clip.
