safetylocksareactivated.Whenthealarmisarmed,itcontinually
monitorsallalarminputs.Thealarmis
triggeredif:
thebonnetisopened
thetailgateisopened
asidedoorisopened
theignitionswitchisturnedwithanon-
approvedkeyorsubjectedtoforce
ifmovementisdetectedinthepassenger
compartment
thecarisraisedortowedaway(iffitted
withatiltdetector–option)
abatterycableisdisconnected
anyonetriestodisconnectthesiren.

indicatorsconfirmsthatthealarmisarmed
andthatalldoorsareclosed.DeactivatingthealarmPresstheUNLOCKbuttonontheremote
control.Twoshortflashesfromthecar’s
directionindicatorsconfirmthatthealarmhas
beendeactivated.AutomaticalarmactivationIfnoneofthedoorsorthetailgateisopened
withintwominutesofthealarmbeingdeacti-
vated,andthecarwasunlockedwiththe
remotecontrol,thecarreactivatesthealarm
automatically.Thecarlocksatthesametime.
Thisfunctionpreventsyoufromaccidentally
leavingthecarwithoutthealarmon.
Automaticalarmactivation
Incertaincountries(e.g.Belgium,Israel)the
alarmisactivatedafteracertaindelayifthe
driver’sdoorwasopenedandclosedbutthe
carwasnotre-locked.DeactivatingatriggeredalarmPresstheUNLOCKbuttonontheremote
controlifthealarmsoundsandyouwishto
deactivateit.Twoshortflashesofthe
directionindicatorsaregivenasconfirmation.
AlarmsignalsAnaudiblesignalisgivenfromasirenwitha
reservebattery.Eachalarmsignallasts
25seconds.
Whenthealarmistriggered,alldirection
indicatorsflashfor5minutesoruntilthe
alarmisdeactivatedasdescribedearlier.
Temporarydeactivationof
detectorsanddeadlocksToavoidinadvertentlytriggeringthealarm,
forexamplewhenleavingadoginthecaror
duringaferrycrossing,themovementandtilt
detectorscanbetemporarilydeactivated:
–Insertthekeyintheignitionswitch,turnit
topositionIIandthenbacktopositionI
or0.
–Pressthebutton.
TheLEDinthebuttonlightsuntilyoulockthe
carwiththekeyorremotecontrol.
Amessageisshowninthedisplayaslongas
thekeyremainsintheignitionswitch.This

alarmsystem:
Lampnotlit:Alarmisdeactivated.
Thelampflashesonceeveryother
second:thealarmisarmed.
Lampflashesquickly,afterdeactivating
thealarmanduntiltheignitionisswitched
on:Thealarmhasbeentriggered.
Ifthereisafaultinthealarmsystem,a
messageappearsonthedisplay.
Ifthealarmsystemdoesnotfunction
correctly,haveanauthorisedVolvoworkshop
examinethecar.

systemcomponents.Allsuchattempts
