Asacrimepreventionmeasure,thecodeof
thelostkeyiserasedfromthesystem.Atthe
sametime,theotherkeysmustbere-coded
inthesystem.
Thekeyblades’uniquecodeisavailableat
authorisedVolvoworkshops,whichcan
producenewkeyblades.
Amaximumofsixremotecontrols/keyblades
canbeprogrammedandusedforonesingle
car.
Immobiliser
Thekeysareequippedwithcodedchips.
Thiscodemustmatchthereaderinthe
ignitionswitch.Thecarcanonlybestartedif
thecorrectkeywiththecorrectcodeisused.NOTE!Themasterkeyblade(1)mustbefully
extended(asillustrated)whenstartingthe
car.Otherwisethereisariskthattheimmobi-
liserfunctionwillpreventthecarfrom
starting.
Ignitionkeysandelectronicimmobiliser
Theignitionkeymustnothangwithother
keysormetalobjectsonthesamekeyring.
Theelectronicimmobilisercouldbeactivated
accidentallyandthecarwillnotstart.

Tailgate
–Pressbutton(2)twicetounlockthe
tailgateonly.NOTE!Thefunctiondoesnotopenthe
tailgate.
Alarmfunction
Thealarmfunctioncanbeusedtoattract
attentionintheeventofanemergency.Ifthe
redbutton(3)ishelddepressedforatleast
threesecondsorispressedtwiceinashort
periodoftime,thedirectionindicatorsand
hornaretriggered.Thealarmisdeactivated
automaticallyafter25secondsorby
pressinganyofthebuttonsontheremote
control.
Approachlighting
Doasfollowswhenapproachingyourcar:
–Presstheyellowbutton(4)ontheremote
control.
Theinteriorlighting,parkinglamps,number
platelighting,doormirrorlamps(option)and
willswitchonandremainlitfor30,60or
90seconds.YourauthorisedVolvo
workshopcanselectasuitabletimesetting
foryourcar.
Toswitchoffthehomesafelighting:
–Presstheyellowbuttonagain.
Locking
Lockalldoors,tailgateandfuelfillerflapwith
button5.Thereisadelayofapprox.
10minutesforthefuelfillerflap.Folding/openingkey
Thekeycanbefoldedbypressingbutton6
whilefoldingthekeybladeintothekeypad.
Thefoldingkeywillopenautomaticallywith
onepressofthebutton.

fromtheremotecontrolatanormaldistance,
thebatteryshouldbereplaced.
–Removethecoverbycarefullyprisingup
therearedgeofwithasmallscrewdriver.
–Replacethebattery(typeCR2032,3V)
–withtheplussidefacingup.Avoid
touchingthebatteryanditscontact
surfaceswithyourfingers.
–Refitthecover.Makesuretherubberseal
isproperlyfittedandfreefromdamageto
preventwaterfromentering.–TurntheoldbatteryintoyourVolvo
workshopsothatitisdisposedofinan
environmentallyfriendlyway.

fromtheoutsideUsingthemasterkeyoritsremotecontrol,all
doorsandthetailgatecanbeunlockedsimul-
taneouslyfromtheoutside.Inthismode,the
doorlockbuttonsandinteriordoorhandles
areinoperative.
Thefuelfillerflapcanbeopenedwhenthe
carisunlocked.Theflapremainsunlocked
for10minutesafterthecarhasbeenlocked.
AutomaticrelockingIfnoneofthedoorsorthetailgateareopened
withintwominutesofunlockingfromthe
outsidewiththeremotecontrol,alllocksre-
lockautomatically.Thisfunctionpreventsyou
fromunintentionallyleavingthecarunlocked.
Forcarswithalarm,seepage108.AutomaticlockingThedoorslockautomaticallywhenvehicle
speedexceeds7km/handremainlocked
untiladoorisopenedfromtheinsideor
unlockedusingacentrallockingbutton.
Lockingandunlockingthecar
fromtheinsideUsingthecontrolinthedoorpanel,alldoors
andthetailgatecanbelockedorunlocked
simultaneously.
Additionally,eachdoorcanbelockedwith
thelockbuttonandunlockedbyopeningthe
doorusingthehandle.
Theaboveappliesonlyifthecarwasnot
lockedfromtheoutside!

Locking/unlockingthetailgate
withtheremotecontrolDoasfollowstounlockthetailgateonly:
–Pressthebuttonontheremotecontrol
(seeillustration)slowlytwicewithin
3seconds.
–Ifalldoorsarelockedwhenyouclosethe
tailgate,itremainsunlockedanditsalarm
isnotarmedwhenyoucloseit.Theother
doorsremainlockedwiththeiralarms
armed.
–Toarmthealarmandlockthetailgateonly
whenyoucloseit,presstheLOCKbutton
again.NOTE!Ifyouusethisbuttontounlockthe
tailgate,butdonotopenit,thetailgatewillre-
lockautomaticallyaftertwominutes.
Deadlocks

Yourcarhasaspecialdeadlockfunction,
whichmeansthatthedoorscannotbe
openedfromtheinsideiftheyarelocked.
Deadlockscanonlybeactivatedfromthe
outsidebylockingthedriver’sdoorwiththe
keyorremotecontrol.Alldoorsmustbe
closedbeforedeadlockscanbeactivated.
Onceactivated,thedoorscannotbeopened
fromtheinside.Thecarcanonlybeunlocked
fromtheoutsideviathedriver’sdoororby
usingtheremotecontrol.
Deadlocksareengagedaftera25second
delayoncethedoorshavebeenclosed.1.Certaincountries

withthedoorslockedfromtheoutside,e.g.
duringtransportbyferry,itispossibleto
deactivatethedeadlocks.
–Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch,turn
ittopositionIIandthenbacktopositionI
or0.
–Pressthebutton(seeillustration).
Ifthecarisequippedwithanalarm,
movementandtiltdetectorsarealsodeacti-
vated.Seepage108.
TheLEDinthebuttonlightsuntilyoulockthe
carwiththekeyorremotecontrol.Amessageisshowninthedisplayaslongasthekey
remainsintheignitionswitch.Thesensors
willbereactivatedthenexttimetheignitionis
switchedon.
WARNING!
Donotallowanyonetoremaininthecar
withoutfirstdeactivatingthedeadlock.
