country.Checkwhatlawsapply.Childrenofallagesandsizesmustalwayssit
correctlysecuredinthecar.Neverallowa
childtositonthekneeofapassenger.
Volvo’sownchildsafetyequipmentis
designedforyourcar.UseVolvogenuine
equipmenttobestensurethatthemounting
pointsandattachmentsarecorrectlyposi-
tionedandaresufficientlystrong.
Youmayplace:
achildseatorboostercushiononthe
frontpassengerseat,providedthe
passengerairbagisnotactivated

arear-facingchildseatintherearseat
thatusesthebackofthefrontseatas
support.ChildseatandseatbeltreminderIfarear-facinginfantorchildseatisplacedin
thefrontseatandsecuredusingtheseatbelt,
theseatbeltremindermightnotbeactivated.
Alwayscheckthatthebeltislockedbefore

videoptimumsafetyforchildren.Combined
withtheregularseatbelts,theboostercush-
ionisapprovedforchildrenweighing
between15and36kg.Raisingtheboostercushion
–Pullthathandletoraisethebooster
cushion(1).
–Graspthecushionwithbothhandsand
pushitbackwards(2).
–Pushuntilitlocksinplace(3).Checkthat:
theseatbeltislocked
theseatbeltisincontactwiththechild’s
bodyandisnotslackortwisted,andthat
thebeltispositionedcorrectlyacrossthe
shoulder
thelapbeltislowoverthepelvisfor
optimumprotection
thebeltdoesnottouchthechild’sthroat
orliebelowtheshoulder
carefullyadjustthepositionofthehead
restrainttosuitthechild
WARNING!
Theboostercushionmustbeinthelocked
positionbeforethechildisplacedthere.
WARNING!
Repairorreplacementshouldonlybeper-
formedbyanauthorisedVolvoworkshop.
Donotmakeanymodificationsoraddi-
tionstotheboostercushion.
Ifanintegratedboostercushionhasbeen
subjectedtoamajorload,suchasin
conjunctionwithacollision,theentire
boostercushionmustbereplaced.Evenif
theboostercushionappearstobe
undamaged,itmaynotaffordthesame
levelofprotection.Theboostercushion
mustalsobereplacedifitisheavilyworn.

Theseatbeltinthecentreofthesecondrow
ofseatshasanextralockingfunction
(ALR/ELR)tohelpholdthebelttauntinorder
tofacilitatechildseatinstallation.
Wheninstallingachildseatwiththehelpof
theseatbelt:
Securetheseatbeltinthechildseat
followingtheinstructionsofthechildseat
manufacturer.
Pullouttheentireseatbelt.
Lockthebeltbyinsertingthelockingtab
inthebuckle.Aloud"click"indicatesthat
thebeltislocked.
Allowtheseatbeltmechanismtoretract
thebeltwhilestretchingitaroundthe
childseat.Amechanicalsoundwillbe
audiblefromtheseatbelt.Thisisnormal.
Thisfunctionisautomaticallydeactivated
whentheseatbeltisreleasedfromthebuckle
andretractsbacktoitsstartingposition.
Ifthereareanyproblemswithinstallationof
childsafetyproducts,contactthemanufac-
turerforclearerinstallationinstructions.1.AutomaticLockingRetractor/

Deactivatethesystemifyoumustusea
wheelofadifferentsizethantheother
wheels.
TheDSTCsystemisreactivatedwhenthe
engineisrestarted.
Airconditioningintherearofthe
passengercompartment

Pressthebuttontoactivate
theairconditioninginthe
rearofthepassenger
compartment.Rearair
conditioningisdeactivated
whentheignitionis
completelyswitchedoff.
Childsafetylocksintherear
doors(option)
Usethisbuttontoactivateor
deactivatetheelectricchild
safetylocksintherear
doors.Theignitionkeymust
beinpositionIorII.When
thechildsafetylocksare
activated,theLEDinthebuttonlights.A
messageisshownonthedisplaywhenthe
childsafetylocksareactivatedordeacti-
vated.

Keepinmindthatthedrivingcharacter-

PowerwindowsThepowerwindowsareoperatedusingthe
controlsinthedoorarmrests.Theignitionkey
mustbeturnedtopositionIorIIforthe
powerwindowstowork.Onceyoufinish
drivingandremovetheignitionkey,the
windowscanstillbeopenedorclosedas
longasneitherofthefrontdoorshasbeen
opened.
Openawindowbydepressingthefrontof
thecontrol,andcloseitbypullingupthefront
ofthecontrol.
Powerwindowsinthefront
doorsWindowscanbeopenedorclosedfromthe
frontseattwoways.
–Pressthecontrol(A)slightlydownorpull
itslightlyup.Thepowerwindowsgoup
ordownaslongastheswitchisactuated.
–Pressthecontrol(A)allthewaydownor
pullitallthewayup,andthenrelease.
Thewindowsthenopenorcloseautomat-
ically.Movementisstoppedifthewindow
isblockedinanyway.
NOTE!Thefunctionautoupforthe
passengersideisonlyavailableincertain
markets.
Controls(B)tooperatewindowsintherear
doors.Blockingpowerwindowsinthe
reardoorsThepowerwindowsintherearseatcanbe
blockedwiththeswitchonthedriver’sdoor
controlpanel.Alwaysremembertoswitchoff
currenttothepowerwindows(i.e.remove
theignitionkey)ifyouleavechildreninthecar
unattended.
LEDintheswitchisunlit
Thereardoorwindowscanbeoperatedboth
withthecontroloneachreardoorandwith
thecontrolsonthedriver’sdoor.
WARNING!
Iftherearechildreninthecar:
Remembertoswitchoffthesupplyto
thepowerwindowsbyremovingthe
ignitionkeyifthedriverleavesthecar.
Makesurethatchildren’sandother
passengers’handsareclearwhen
closingthewindows.
Ifthereardoorwindowsareoperated
fromthedriver’sdoor:
Checkthatnoneoftherearseat
passengersareindangerofgettingtheir
handscaughtwhenclosingthewindows.

Manualoperation
Open:Pullthecontrolrearwardstothe
resistancepointposition(3).Thesunroofwill
movetowardsmaximumopeningpositionas
longasthecontrolisheldinthisposition.
Close:Pressthecontrolforwardtothe
resistancepoint(2).Thesunroofmoves
towardsclosingpositionaslongasthe
controlisheldinthisposition.
SunscreenThesunrooffeaturesamanual,slidinginterior
sunscreen.Thesunscreenslidesback
automaticallywhenthesunroofisopened.
Gripthehandleandslidethescreen
forwardstoclosethescreen.PinchprotectionThesunroof’spinchprotectionfunctionis
activatedifthehatchisblockedbyanobject.
Ifblocked,thesunroofwillstopandautomat-
icallyopentothepreviousposition.
WARNING!
Ifyouhavechildreninthecar,makesure
thattheirhandsareclearwhenclosingthe
sunroof.
WARNING!
Thesunroof’spinchprotectionfunction
onlyoperatesduringautomaticclosing,
notduringmanualclosing.
Makesurechildren’shandsareclear
whenclosingthesunroof.
