sunroofwillopentothecomfortpositionor
willclosecompletely.
Inordertoopenfromcomfortpositionto
maximumopening:Pullthecontroltotherear
oncemoretotheendposition(4)and
release.
Manualoperation
Open:Pullthecontrolrearwardstothe
resistancepointposition(3).Thesunroofwill
movetowardsmaximumopeningpositionas
longasthecontrolisheldinthisposition.
Close:Pressthecontrolforwardtothe
resistancepoint(2).Thesunroofmoves
towardsclosingpositionaslongasthe
controlisheldinthisposition.
SunscreenThesunrooffeaturesamanual,slidinginterior
sunscreen.Thesunscreenslidesback
automaticallywhenthesunroofisopened.
Gripthehandleandslidethescreen
forwardstoclosethescreen.PinchprotectionThesunroof’spinchprotectionfunctionis
activatedifthehatchisblockedbyanobject.
Ifblocked,thesunroofwillstopandautomat-
icallyopentothepreviousposition.
WARNING!
Ifyouhavechildreninthecar,makesure
thattheirhandsareclearwhenclosingthe
sunroof.
WARNING!
Thesunroof’spinchprotectionfunction
onlyoperatesduringautomaticclosing,
notduringmanualclosing.
Makesurechildren’shandsareclear
whenclosingthesunroof.

workshop.IceandsnowRemoveiceandsnowfromtheclimate
controlairintake(thegrillebetweenthe
bonnetandthewindscreen).FaulttracingAnauthorisedVolvoworkshophastheinstru-
mentsandtoolsrequiredforanyfaulttracing
orrepairofyourclimatecontrolsystem.
Entrustchecksandrepairsonlytotrained
personnel.RefrigerantTheairconditioningsystemcontainsR134a
refrigerant.Thisrefrigerantcontainsno
chlorine,whichmeansthatitisharmlessto
theozonelayer.Thesystemmustonlybe
chargedwithR134arefrigerant.Havean
authorisedVolvoworkshopcarryoutthis
work.
VentilationfanfunctionWhentheengineisoff(andiftheignitionkey
isinpositionIorII),theventilationfanis
automaticallyswitchedoff.Thisistoprevent
thebatteryfrombecomingdischarged.
Toactivatetheventilationfan,turnthefan
controlandsetthedesiredspeed.CarswithECCActualtemperature
Thetemperatureyouselectcorrespondsto
thephysicalexperiencewithreferencetoair
speed,humidity,exposuretosun,etc.which
affecttheinteriorandexteriorofthecar.
Sensors
Thesunsensorisontheupperportionofthe
dashboard.Remembernottocoverit.Donot
coverthepassengercompartmenttemper-
aturesensorontheclimatecontrolpanel.
Sidewindowsandsunroof
Toensurethattheairconditioningworks
satisfactorily,closeallsidewindowsandthe
sunroof(iffitted).
Acceleration
Theairconditioningsystemswitchesoff
temporarilyatfullacceleration.Youmayfeel
atemporaryriseintemperature.Condensation
Inwarmweather,condensationfromtheair
conditioningsystemmaydripunderthecar.
Thisisnormal.
Fueleconomy
WithECC,theairconditioningsystemis
controlledautomaticallyandisusedjust
enoughtocoolthepassengercompartment
andtoadequatelydehumidifytheincoming
air.Thisprovidesbetterfueleconomy
comparedtoconventionalsystemswherethe
airconditioningcoolstheairtojustabove
freezingpoint.
