Neutral indicator light “N”
This indicator light comes on when the transmis-
sion is in neutral.

Coolant temperature warning light “ ”
When the coolant temperature reaches a speci-
fied level, this light comes on to warn that the
coolant temperature is too hot. If the light comes
on during operation, stop the engine as soon as
it is safe to do so and allow the engine to cool
down for about 10 minutes.
The electrical circuit of the warning light can be
checked according to the following procedures.
1. Set the engine stop switch to “RUN” and
turn the key to “ON”.
2. Shift the transmission into the neutral posi-
tion or pull the clutch lever.

Ce témoin s’allume quand la transmission est à
la position “N”.

Témoin d’avertissement de la température du
liquide de refroidissement “ ”
Lorsque la température du liquide de refroidisse-
ment atteint un certain niveau, ce témoin s’allu-
me pour signaler la surchauffe du liquide. Si le
témoin s’allume pendant une randonnée, couper
le moteur dès que possible et le laisser refroidir
pendant environ 10 minutes.
Contrôler le circuit électrique du témoin comme
suit:
1. Placer le coupe-circuit du moteur à la posi-
tion “RUN”, puis tourner la clé de contact
sur “ON”.
2. Mettre la boîte de vitesses au point mort ou
débrayer.

Luz de control de punto muerto “N”
Se enciende cuando la transmisión está en
punto muerto.

Luz de aviso de la temperatura del refrige-
rante “ ”
Cuando la temperatura del refrigerante alcanza
un nivel especificado, se enciende esta luz para
avisar que la temperatura del refrigerante es
demasiado alta. Si se enciende con el motor en
marcha, párelo en cuando la seguridad lo permi-
ta y deje que se enfría durante unos 10 minutos.
El circuito eléctrico de la luz de aviso puede
comprobarse mediante los procedimientos
siguientes.
1. Ponga el interruptor de parada en “RUN” y
gire la llave a la posición “ON”.
2. Cambie la transmisión a la posición de
punto muerto o tire de la palanca del
embrague.

3. Push the start switch. If the warning light
does not come on while the start switch is
pushed, have a Yamaha dealer check the
electrical circuit.

8The engine may overheat if the ATV is
overloaded. If this happens, reduce the
load to specification.
8Restart after making sure that the light is
off. Continuous use while the light is on
may cause damage to the engine.

3. Appuyer sur le contacteur du démarreur. Si
le témoin d’avertissement ne s’allume pas
lorsque l’on appuie sur le contacteur du
démarreur, faire contrôler le circuit élec-
trique par un concessionnaire Yamaha.

8La surchauffe du moteur peut être causée
par un chargement excessif du véhicule. En
cas de surcharge, réduire la charge (voir les
limites spécifiées).
8Attendre que le témoin s’éteigne avant de
remettre le moteur en marche. Lorsque ce
témoin est allumé, il ne faut pas rouler de
façon continue, sous peine d’endommager
le moteur.

Set the switch to the “LO” position to turn on the
low beam and the taillight.
Set the switch to the “HI” position to turn on the
high beam and the taillight.
Set the switch to the “OFF” position to turn off all
the lights.
NOTE:
The headlights and the taillight can be turned on
only when the engine is started.

The starter motor cranks the engine when this
switch is pushed.

Engine stop switch “ENG. STOP”
Make sure that the engine stop switch is in the
“RUN” position before starting the engine. The
engine stop switch controls ignition and can be
used at all times to stop the engine, especially in
an emergency. The engine will not start or run
when the engine stop switch is turned to “OFF”.1

Coupe-circuit du moteur “ENG. STOP”
S’assurer que le coupe-circuit du moteur est
placé sur “RUN” avant de mettre le moteur en
marche. Le coupe-circuit du moteur contrôle
l’allumage et peut à tout moment servir à couper
le moteur. Il est particulièrement utile en cas
d’urgence. Le moteur ne se met pas en marche
ou ne tourne pas quand son coupe-circuit est sur
“OFF”.

Throttle lever
Once the engine is running, movement of the
throttle lever will increase the engine speed.
Regulate the speed of the machine by varying
the throttle position. Because the throttle is
spring-loaded, the machine will decelerate, and
the engine will return to an idle any time the
hand is removed from the throttle lever.
Before starting the engine, check the throttle to
be sure it is operating smoothly. Make sure it
returns to the idle position as soon as the lever
is released.

Malfunction of the throttle could make it diffi-
cult to speed up or slow down when you
need to. This could cause an accident.
Check the operation of the throttle lever
before you start the engine. If the throttle
does not work smoothly, check for the
cause. Correct the problem before riding the
ATV or consult a Yamaha dealer.
